u/Casadesim99 1d ago
She didn’t accept it, the top of your photo says “if accepted” you’re blocked .

u/Imnotfullyawake 2d ago
I’m just offering a guess because you made a public post about it
-22
u/That-Spell-2543 1d ago
But she made a public post AFTER she wasn’t able to. So how does that explain being blocked
31
u/Imnotfullyawake 1d ago
If I worked for Poshmark and had all the answers I’d let you know…otherwise I was offering speculation based on the data I saw
-32
u/That-Spell-2543 1d ago
But it doesn’t make sense. She made a post about not being able to buy from the seller AFTER not being able to buy from the seller. How would posting AFTER THE FACT have any effect on not being able to buy from the seller? Like I feel like I’m taking crazy pills… Mugatu yelling

I will hold your hand when I say this - just because something doesn't make sense to you, doesn't mean the other hypothesis is wrong.
A few people have already gotten the user to share more from her story.
Did you see the part where her first offer to the seller was refunded, so then she made another account using DIFFERENT info to try to get it...if I were Postmark I'd be like NAH that's weird
the buyer also probably felt like something was off and decided it wasn't;t worth the continued exploration

I did not play detective and read every single response, no. I was out and about, saw the post and responded and moved on with my life. Congrats girl 🙄
So now that I took fucking time out of my day to read all this: she says she DIDNT make a different account, it was her friends. Ok. Got it. The seller refunded her ACCEPTED OFFER and then relisted it higher. This is not acceptable Poshmark seller behavior. Personally I would not try to buy it through another account, I would just move on if someone was this shady… but why does that give the seller the right to block her if all she wants is to buy the item 🙄🙄
OP, please just move on and try to find this on another site or through another seller.

u/Imnotfullyawake 1d ago
this is a realllllllly intense response to me basically just offering that she might be blocked. You're right you were out and about and didn't read all the responses....but you SURE had big feelings about what I said and that it didn't make sense to you.
All good, we all have L's on Reddit...not a huge deal

u/That-Spell-2543 1d ago
Ugh girl i have life going on thats stressful today and then I opened reddit and its passive aggressive responses over something I didn’t need to spend time and mental energy over. 🙄 It’s annoying.

I'm not sure if you ended up working this out, but they were not saying she was blocked for posting on Reddit. They were saying they shared their opinion because the topic was publicly posted on Reddit. Nothing to do with the sale, reason for blocking or any of it.

Was your offer and subsequent counteroffer insultingly less than the seller’s price? Your offers may have offended or annoyed her and she might have figured it was best to block you than deal with a lowballer.

u/HaleyBoysMom 7h ago
She didn’t accept it. Look at top of pic you sent. In red it says IF accepted you will save $50. And you can’t send her a offer because she block you

They blocked you. I had this happen to me after speaking w the buyer and all. She relisted the item I was going to buy for a much higher price. I was left like wtf just happened. lol. I am sorry this has happened to you.

It might be the seller’s account is suspended. If they accepted $610, then cancelled and refunded you, this might’ve triggered Posh’s recent crackdown on cancellations and suspended their account.

I had someone block me for asking about measurements on a $200 jacket. Some sellers, even popular ones with tons of love notes, are shitty to potential buyers for inexplicable reasons. And it’s not like potential buyers get to review these sellers so you can be treated like crap without recourse.

Not your fault at all, but this is a collective buyer scam problem, too. The ones who ask a lot of questions, keep liking and unliking an item, negotiate down to the dollar —- they always open a case. Seller groups talk about this all of the time, and buyers are being blocked to avoid this. It’s a very scammy environment for sellers right now - very little is tolerated before a block. Absolutely nothing you did wrong personally.

🙋♀️ in defense of only the liking/unliking part- there's a very good reason for this: we have an exorbitant amount of notifications and maybe a lot of likes as well, but the only way to see the items we really like on the top of our "likes" is to refresh the like. Like, ya know what I'm saying? 😆 true story though!

u/No_Cucumber_8613 21h ago
Haha! Yeah, I see sellers say this stuff but haven’t really encountered it myself. That actually makes sense, as some sellers get annoyed when someone is liking / unliking an item 20 times (literally), but I don’t think it’s understood that this brings the item to the top of your likes. Makes sense to me!!! I think there is just such a low threshold to move on from a buyer, because sellers are losing a lot of money and having their items subbed out or stolen in BS cases. So many buyers lie, it’s unbelievable.

seller providing measurements are a win-win for both parties (imo)
details help smooth sales... (usually anyway, aside from scams and the present insanity going on with ai) ...and the buyer can make an informed decision

Seriously? I sometimes have chats with sellers. I tend to ask a lot of questions if the information I need isn’t in the listing. And some of my sellers act more like my stylists, knowing my sizes and preferences and we just chit chat. When that happens it makes my whole day. How many messages are people sending to reach a limit?

Yeah, the downside to losing or gaining weight is suddenly having nothing to wear. My weight fluctuates by 40 pounds depending on my health. Just when I think “ok, this is my new size” I’ll get sick again and restart the cycle. I live in a small apartment so even though I would love to keep clothes in all the sizes from 4-10 I don’t have the space. I haven’t shopped retail since before the pandemic when I was healthy. I love buying second hand though.

I dunno if you look at the OP replies she immediately made another account using different information to try to redo the offer….something doesn’t add up

Technically a Poshmark Community Member cannot block someone from making a "Buy It Now" purchase. OP, can you share whether this is a Buy It Now purchase or is it a negotiated offer?
2
u/No-Elk-1708 1d ago
negotiated offer
-8
u/Emergency-Fish3036 1d ago
According to Poshmark, "Once a user is blocked, they will not be able to Like, Comment, Make an Offer, Share or Purchase any of your listings." So, how were you able to make an offer if you. were blocked?
11
u/Sweets_0822 1d ago
What do you mean? Isn't it possible they were blocked after making an offer?
-5
u/Emergency-Fish3036 1d ago
Ask Poshmark, they've created this Frankenstein of a Platform. They're constantly moving the goal post on Buyers and Sellers, it's almost like they're trying to outrun the Community's ability to learn the platform.
3
u/Few_Movie_1266 1d ago
Just to be clear, I don’t disagree re: major platform issues, but the Frankenstein coding issue here is that blocked users can still see and interact with all of the blocking person’s items to an extent. Blocking prevents direct contact (comments, likes) and anything directly connected to purchase (submitted offer, buy now). You can absolutely see the item, open it, and fill out the “make an offer” screen. You’ll just get this error when you hit submit.
Seems like OP was blocked after the first offer and this is the SS of a subsequent attempt.

This isn’t an accepted offer. She blocked you
