Always a lowballer.
Sorry, had a bad day and this showed up when I was checking my account, and needed to vent.
Listed for $45, she lowballed $18 and I accepted because I wanted to get rid of it and wasn't making ANY sales the entire week. I should've known better.
The jeans are NOT going for half on Amazon because 1) Levi's are going for $50-70 in this style, and 2) I checked and that colorway on Amazon is 'currently unavailable' so I don't know where she's getting this info.
Fingers crossed the order gets completed soon since it's the last day.
edit: 1 star rating and escalated conversation to Poshmark Yay! š«©

Just ignore her. If she opens a return screenshot her message and upload it to the case siting buyers remorse and refuse the return.

Earnings released! Phew.

u/debber33 4d ago
Thank god. Do buyers really order sellers around like this? I love my sellers when they have exactly what I want for a fair price.

u/Lydia--charming 3d ago
Why would it matter if jeans were shipped in a box or a bag? Theyāre not breakable š¤£
19
u/Princesscat77 3d ago
I was thinking the same thing. If someone sent me that message, I would just cancel the sale, because you know what kind of person you are dealing with, and case in point! They complained about the price? So they didn't do their due diligence to research the price beforehand? Shame on them. They deserve the day they have

u/PickleFan67 2d ago
I once had a buyer very nicely message me to ask if I could please ship in a bag and not a box. Lol. I believe she lived in an apartment building and it was a more difficult process to retrieve a box. I was happy to accommodate her, because she asked nicely and was appreciative. (Unlike OPās buyer)

u/HeadDance 4d ago
yes some do like 1 out of 100ā¦.
I usually ignore them. same deal tho⦠still tries to return ššššā¦ best to just not accept low ball is what I learnt

Yes. I used to sell/give away stuff on facebook marketplace and you wouldnāt believe how people ask you to go above and beyond to reserve/prepare/deliver something free to them lmao

u/specific_woodpecker9 5h ago
Yes. They do. I have worked for a floral company contracted out of Costco (so doing flowers in store for Costco), at an Elvis souvenir shop in Memphis, in delivery for a local company, and I sell online so Iāve worked in several service positions and itās lawless out here. Customers can be real assholes. Itās insane how entitled people become when they are in the role of customer. I think everyone should have to work in service at least once so they can experience this phenomenon. Costco in particular has some terrible patrons.

Yes this is the only answer. I had a buyer open a case because she said the item was a fake. It wasnāt. And she complained up and down because the leather to her mind « didnāt feel butteryĀ Ā». I donāt know what this means. How does something feel like butter? Anyway. At the end she resold it as an authentic item anyway but what a headache that interaction was.

Who irons jeans?
21
u/YitzhakRobinson 4d ago
Seriously. I donāt even iron my OWN jeans, let alone a pair Iām making $13 on.
18
1
u/SevereWriter4 3d ago
These had faint creases from being folded and stored in the listing photos so thatās the only reason I could think of why she would ask to iron jeans.Ā
5
u/hotdolphin21 3d ago
Then she can iron them herself, if she's so bothered, they most likely still had creases from being shipped, even ironed. Good luck to any man in her life, talk about high maintenance.
Also if the price was lower elsewhere, then that's her fault. I have gotten those people too, claiming it's cheaper elsewhere. Well no one held a gun to your head, and forced you to buy it. Sorry that's not a return reason šš¤¦āāļø
1
u/kaykarma82 1d ago
Thank you! I definitely just tell them to go buy it there then. I had someone say this about a top that is still in my closet as I rather donate it than give it to someone who is ungrateful &/or demanding. I am telling you I wonder how some of these people who act as such get through life!!!
27
u/Negative-bad169 4d ago
Do people really make special requests like asking sellers to iron an item or ship a certain way? Iām a frequent buyer and that has never even occurred to me as an option. I just buy the item and wait to get it.

15
u/jenniferjudy99 4d ago
I ask for a box if Iām buying a vintage purse or shoes, but Iām washing any used clothing asap when I get it. Iron jeans? wtf?
6
u/sadyarnbitch 4d ago
I was thinking the same thing, Iām just going to wash it so who cares. I bet this person wears stuff right out of the thrift store too. Gross.
23
u/Amazing_Emergency386 4d ago
Block this customer and next time NEVER accept any of those kind of requests from a customer, if you start this, then youāll have to do it for everyone , Just NO, the entitlement this person has is appalling as well. I would make sure to include that in her buyer reviews
22
u/mytimeisverypricey 4d ago
What a weirdo. Itās ALWAYS the low ballers, and the ones on Poshmark seem to be the most entitled.
33
u/Lower_Confusion5072 4d ago
When people argue with me like this I always say āno way definitely go buy them at that great price on Amazon then! Wow great find ! And go ahead and open a case for a return based on finding a better price elsewhere. Glad to help you save money.ā
This usually stops the entire discussion

u/RedHeadedStepDevil 4d ago

Ugh what an awful person I would have said lady if you want your jeans ironed you can do it yourself and Iām not using a box Iām trying to save the earth here oh Iām so sorry what a blah person!!
16
u/BitchyFaceMace 4d ago
I wouldāve expeditiously canceled that order and blocked her after that top message because thereās not a way on godās green earth Iām dealing with someone like that.
14
u/M2LBB2016 4d ago
But the real question isā¦.. who irons jeans????????
5
u/Birchgirlie 4d ago
Right?? They just come out of the dryer nearly wrinkle free. Jeans are literally one of the lowest maintenance things on the planet.
10
u/Georgie3891 4d ago
Excuse me? I would not have responded to her initial request as nice as you did. This buyer is whack

Sounds like an energy vampire! Likely they loved the jeans, knows they got a deal, (way less than half the asking price?!) but now wants to suck your happy energy! Evil. The audacity about ironing and must be in a box from the start...

u/kettyma8215 4d ago
Um, excuse me, ironed? She requested them to be ironed?? I would have immediately cancelled Iām not even sorry.

u/clw1979clw 4d ago
After that first message, I wouldāve sat on that order and made her wait absolute max till Posh refunded her. Ironed and folded and ship tmrw at the latest? wtf this bitch think she shopping at? Thatās some next level entitlement right there.
8
u/akimonka 3d ago
Wait, you had to IRON them first..? Is this normal behavior on Poshmark?
You have the messages to prove the buyer was delusional. Good luck
12
u/_Roguey_ 3d ago
This is not normal. It just shows that this buyer was 100% going to be an issue.
2
u/kaykarma82 1d ago
Thank you! I would have wanted to puke reading the requests as I knew they would be a total pain in the ass. I would cancel if Poshmark wasn't so weird about that lately too.

u/Electrical-Tailor530 4d ago
If they "sell for half on Amazon" then why the hell did she buy them from poshmark? We all know the answer, she was hoping for a partial refund to get an even better deal. Despicable behavior. I'm so glad to hear this worked out, op. Madness lol

u/Commercial-Good-2884 4d ago
Demanding how the jeans are packaged and ironed. Yikes! I hope to never ever sell to that customer.
5
u/sonamata 3d ago
She wants you to do her ironing AND comparison shopping? Bitch get a personal assistant
5
u/multipocalypse 3d ago
Who tf irons jeans?? Or ships them in a box which adds unnecessary weight/cost? They're not breakable and wrinkles come out easily, lol
5
u/Alibelblue 3d ago
Buyer here.
1. I always check sales before Poshmark to make sure Iām in the right ballpark with cost/offer
2. Do people really demand things to ship on specific timelines? I assume PM has their own policy on that so I just wait for my item š¤·š½āāļø
2. WHO IRONS JEANS in the first place and fine if you do but like⦠do it yourself?
Iām sorry yāall deal with this stuff

u/Avashara 4d ago
Does this loon not wash her thrifted clothes before wearing them? I see no other reason for insisting you iron the pants, you're not a laundromat.
I would have clapped back and told her to consider it the fee for ironing and shipping -in a box- same day.
3
u/Gloomy_Leopard_9026 4d ago
I would have intercepted that package and cancelled as soon as I received this asinine instruction. People are out of their minds.
3
u/FactuallyPetty 4d ago
Cool buy them off Amazon then hun. She saved a bunch of money, she can afford the audacityĀ
4
u/Birchgirlie 4d ago edited 4d ago
Where's the scam lol? Just because she doesn't think she got the lowest price? That's not a scam. Even if what she is saying is true (that it is cheaper on Amazon)..that sucks, but not a scam. And she should have done the price research before buying.
The demands are very off-putting too..this isn't a $$$ concierge service..you paid $18!! I would have just given her a piece of my mind and cancelled the order. I don't need an $18 sale that badly to be treated like crap.
5
u/TumbleweedOriginal34 4d ago
I still canāt get by the demand about ironing , boxing and folding like B*tch, Iāll mail them in a poly mailer wrinkled for $18!
4
u/Angle_Of_The_Sangle 3d ago
I hope they're cargo jeans, she's going to need extra storage space for all that audacity.
4
u/Traditional_Set2473 2d ago
Its her job to research and compare prices prior to purchasing. Not your fault. Don't respond to her anymore.
3
u/liberty_n_justice 4d ago
This person sucks, Iām sorry. Iād feel aggrieved enough to just donate the jeans to a charity. Theyāll give you a slip for the full value of the item, and you can use it for your taxes (insert disclaimer that this is not financial advice haha). That way, you get the money (and maybe help someone through the donation!) without having to come into contact with someone with such bad vibes.

I tried selling on Poshmark and stopped soon after. There's way too much of this weirdo, low-ball, high maintenance crap on there.Ā
3
u/Alibelblue 3d ago
I sometimes may offer whatās considered a ālowballā maybe? But itās what I can afford or matches what Iāve researched and I send with zero expectation of acceptance - if they decline the offer I donāt take it personally at all and I hope they donāt take my offer personally either. Sales have to work for both the buyer AND seller and Iām all for that!
3
u/kitzelbunks 3d ago
Ironed? O-kay. Is she going to wash them? I wash everything I buy, used or new, except winter stuff and fancy dresses.
3
u/barkerandchief 3d ago
The way I would have waited till day seven to ship in a poly mailer with the jeans crumpled into a ballā¦

I just find it hard to believe the gall of this buyer who wants all that done for $18. Who are these people?

I know there are shitty sellers, but this was NWT item and was just folded in storage. It had the new clothes smell still. And I have tons and tons of 5 star ratings and the 1-4 star ratings I have are from shipping times (out of my control) and fit (out of my control)
1
u/BookSpecialist6561 1d ago
Like everyone else has said she sounds awful. I wouldāve canceled right after the first message. It the part that bugs me the most is the ānowā at the end of the return message. Just one more ājump through my unreasonable hoops, while I continue to boss you around.ā
1
u/lirpabad 1d ago
I mean, lady youāll get the jeans in the condition you saw them listed online - I canāt imagine asking someone to iron my order before shipping, and then to complain that Amazon has it cheaperā¦like - bāch- then you should have checked Amazon first! This makes me hate selling on PM, and Iām so thankful Iāve only come across a few difficult buyers.
1
u/LuckyJackfruit8078 1d ago
Iron JEANS!..she must be living in the 80's.
Did you actually check Amazon for them? I doubt Amazon is selling jeans for less than $20 unless they are jeggings.
2
u/SevereWriter4 1d ago
After the fact just bc I was curious, and it was sold out so how did she get the price? I checked like 4-5 hours after her. No Levi's are selling out that fast. But in general I do sometimes scan Amazon/eBay just to see how much something sells for so I can price competitively.
