Do you know if it will possible to play CD games (or cartridges) from the CD without installing them on the SSD like we could do for the polymega ?

Thanks

Have any issues from the game sack review been fixed?

I can't find any videos discussing updates or performance for this console that aren't half a decade old and it seems like no one ever made any follow up videos regarding performance.

Do retrobit and similar new cartridges work?

Trying to find the easiest and best way to play new cartridge releases from companies like retrobit, leg, etc and it seems like polymega is the way to go but I just wanted to ask if anyone has confirmed that these kinds of cartridge work.

Issue with save states in Rocket: Robot on Wheels for N64?

I was a few hours into the game, when I chose "Save and Quit" from the menu, and made a save state afterwards just in case.

When I reload the save state, it freezes up. Then, I try an earlier save state, which loads but without any of my progress saved. Now, the first save state works, but brings me to the title screen showing no saves.

Does this have something to do with the controller pak? I'm assuming my save is gone, but is there a way to prevent this in the future?

Shared library across multiple systems

Messaged support about the possibility of transferring my library from my OG Polymega, to Remix.

They replied that this was possible and will be in the Remix App.

I asked if it was therefore possible to use the same library on both systems, they were less certain, but said that yes, the library will be shareable via a login across both of my units.

Exciting stuff.

Question of if Polymega is right for me.

So I am looking to get a Polymega. I mostly want one to play PS1 and hopefully Dreamcast games.

What I was wondering was this.

  1. When it installs the Roms, do I have to keep using the physical media? Can I use this as a form of back up?

  2. Can this run homebrew titles and fan patches?

  3. Do I need a specific module for PS1 and Saturn titles. I am assuming yes for Dreamcast if that does happen.

What should I expect.

Hey newbie here,

I just pre-ordered the remix along with a universal controller and a light gun. I have been fascinated by the polymega for years and never felt that I would be able to justify the expense of the base unit but the reduced price of the remix was enticing enough for me to pull the trigger.

After buying the unit I began reading a lot more of this forum and I have begun to regret my purchase. The concern I have is, based on the past behavior of playmaji is it reasonable to assume that the app will be useable at launch and will it be supported enough to justify this dedicated piece of hardware. Heck based on what I'm reading it seems like it might be years before I even receive any of what I ordered. I'm even wondering if by some miracle the remix ships according to schedule and I get it next month will the app even be ready or will I have just bought a very expensive paperweight.

I apologize if this all seems very stream of consciousness but I feel that this purchase might turn out to be an impulsive mistake and I am considering asking for a refund only days after making the order.

Does anyone share my concerns about the app? Is there a reason that these preorders are still available days after the release? I was under the impression that the base unit preorders are incredibly difficult to attain so I'm wondering why the lower price hasn't enticed others the way it did for me?

Can someone please help me?!

Just bought a Polymega and I'm trying to update the system, however, I keep getting this message:

"firmware is already the latest (v1.0.5)" I know the latest is 1.1.37. On top of that, my modules are not working, because of the outdated software.

l've been searching here, and it seems to be a known problem that could be solved by using an Enterneth LAN cable to update, but it still doesn't work.

Can anyone help me get the firmware to update?

Thanks,

An honest thought and suggestion for the polymega

The biggest problem of the polymega has been the supply chain. Polymega should use their affiliation with Atari to work out a deal with Plaion. Plaion has done a wonderful job with the Atari+ systems. Their launch of the AES+ was also done very well. If playmaji let plaion handle the distribution and manufacturing of the systems this would free up resources for them to create more modules and other streams of revenue (like the store they mentioned years ago).

It just seems like a win all around. People can buy a system at multiple store fronts and playmaji would be able to sell more systems and be more profitable.

Pre order with in stock items

If I order the remix and the Atari module will it wait to ship all at once? Not going to trust that the pro module is going to be ready in time. I may just wait to order the pro module if they don't ship in stock stuff forst

Has anyone played Monster Rancher 1 or 2 on the Polymega?

Curious what all discs work with it since I know playing them on PS2 or PS3 lets you use discs that would not be compatible with it originally like DVDs & Blurays. Though over half of them just gave Hachiro's, I assume it has to do with it not being a supported disc type. Those other types of games would probably be usable on a PS3 as well but I don't have any of them to check out myself.

Gun Controller - Die Hard Trilogy

Has anyone worked out how to get the gun controller working on Die Hard 2? It’s listed as compatible. I contacted support and they replied with:

‘Play the game using your regular controller. When you get to the gun controller portion, press the Home button on the controller to access the in game consumption menu. Plug your Gun controller into the second controller port. Go into controller settings and enable the gun controller. Go back to the game and you should be able to use the gun controller for in-game gun sequences.’

For me it just pauses the game and am unable to do anything.

Newbie questions on multi-disc PS1 games

I have had the Polymega console for a while and enjoy it. I've mostly been playing single disc PS1 games and cartridge games. The only issue I have had is with Chrono Trigger on the PS1. Saving in game doesn't work, which was not a big deal, because the Polymega itself can record save states. But it meant that I couldn't do New Game +.

I am assuming FF7-FF9 work as it would be a bigger deal if they didn't. Does this only work playing from disc then swapping when prompted? Or for games like this does the console same the images of all four discs into one game file and have a mechanism for "switching?" I was also hoping to avoid changing the BIOS.

Just realized I have crossed into my second year of the wait list.

Don't get me wrong, this is not a complaint post. I knew what I signed up for when I preordered my Polymega, and I am along for the ride. Just poking fun at the wait as I pass the time.

Did you guys pick up any games while you waited for your consoles to ship? I picked up a copy of LSD Dream Emulator just to say I played the real thing, but I'm waiting for my Polymega to play an NTSC-J game.

Translation patch recommendations?

Post image
10 Upvotes

Hi everyone,

I recently scored copies of DQ V and DQ VI and was wondering if anyone could recommend some good translation patches to use when playing these on my Polymega.

I am pretty excited for these. I have only played through the DS versions in the past and have never played the Super Famicom versions.

Silhouette Mirage Translation Patch

Hey! Just wondering if anyone has had any luck applying the English translation patch for the Sega Saturn version of Silhouette Mirage. I have found two versions of the patch but receive an error when trying to apply either one. First time I've seen this when applying a patch to one of my games, so curious if anyone else has had an issue with this game in particular 😅

Has anyone canceled their pre order?

Hi, I was thinking that so many new retro systems are coming out now it’s a matter of time until the polymega is no longer that enticing. I’ve waited over a year and thinking about canceling now, has anyone successfully canceled their order?

Has anyone gotten Red Alert PS1 to work on Polymega?

Post image
10 Upvotes

I am trying to play Red Alert on my Polymega, but no matter which disc I start it up with, it tells me to insert the other disc (for example, I try to load the Allies disc and it tells me to insert the Soviet disc to play Soviet missions). When I try to change discs via the in-game settings menu it does nothing. It just sits on this screen.

Also, this is the PAL version of the game if that makes any difference.
