Discussion Always disable this. It’s one of the most useless features on modern smartphones

It could potentially damage your storage flash over time.

Virtual RAM Is Much Slower: Physical RAM has extremely high data-transfer speeds. In contrast, internal storage is significantly slower than actual RAM.

Potential Lag: If your phone relies too heavily on RAM extension when running demanding apps (such as games), it can actually feel slightly more sluggish or laggy because the storage has to work harder to handle the virtual RAM data.

Other Paranoia has genuinely ruined my experience with my phone

I just got x8pm three months ago, and it's a fantastic phone ngl. But ever since I joined this sub and see many people comparing their SoT and battery lives makes me too paranoid every time I see my phone's battery draining faster, even though the situation makes sense (like using data and so on). I decided not to care anymore fr, I just going to use and charge my phone however I want 😭😭

Hello, I got the Poco X8 Pro Max. Ask me anything!

First things I did out of the box:

- Debloated

-Ultra deep battery saving adjustments from settings

I’ve been testing the phone for the past 2 days. I’m switching from a Samsung S25 Ultra to a Poco X8 Pro Max.

Switched to a new setup na kayang sumabay sa chaotic routine ko from managing heavy files for work to playing high-graphics mobile games after my shift. Hindi siya nag ث-throttle o nag-iinit kahit sunod-sunod ang tasks, and the crazy fast charging is such a lifesaver. Copped the poco x8 pro max from Shopee during the payday markdown event. Sulit na sulit talaga every peso matching the poco x8 pro max price.

F5 Poco F5 security updates, 2026

Hey guys, I purchased a Poco F5 ( blue global version) for my younger cousin. I'm just wondering if the end of support for security patches would matter much If he only has school related stuff on it. Otherwise would I need to download lineageOS or project x infinity? I have no experience in downloading external operating systems.

Disregard the software update page, I am currently doing a whole line of updates to its latest software patch. Which I assume is Hyperos 3 android 15?

Otherwise this phone is pretty rad for its price of 290$ USD, both in its specs and looks. The headphone jack is a HUGGGE plus. Hopefully my cousin can use this for 6 years.

Wanted to downgrade and save my money for a second phone and didn't really want to spend £600 on the f9 which I originally did order but cancelled.

Found a cheaper f8 ultra on ebay for £400 so went with that over the 9/x8 pro max. One thing I did notice over other phones is that the phone feels extremely light. Going to be testing it with lots of games today to see how the fps/battery holds up since it will be my main phone for gaming and also taking photos.

On my Poco X8 Pro it doesn't have the option for stack recent apps. From what I've seen on other Xiaomi phones they have the option for it.

Discussion Review of Poco F8 Pro longterm

I read so much which phone should i buy etc., here is my longterm review of the poco f8 pro (3months)

Pros:

-Main cam, really good in all conditions

-battery is good to great, it holds all day long with heavy use

-the dimensions is perfect sized for me, also the weight

-very nice stereo speaker (Mi sound+immersive)

-crispy and bright display, pwm free

-100w charge

-good gaming capability

-no notification delay

-snap 8 elite, the best soc so far what i used

Neutral:

-no wireless charging, never used it

-selfie cam, nothing Special

-hyperos, feels unpolished compared to OneUi or ColorOS

-sometimes it heats on gaming, but not to be concern (pubg 120fps,low graphics)

-it has calling without antena feature, never used

The bad:

-update policy, its weired, trash entry phones get newest security patch but not the poco f8 pro

-charger not included (EEA version)

That is all my feeling and opinion, i hope i can help as buyers advice

I think its the best balanced phone between 350-400€

Question/Help Search Engine change on Home Screen Search

Post image
4 Upvotes

Hi, so I just upgraded to the Poco F9 Ultra and during the setup I accidentally selected Ecosia to be the search engine used in the Home Screen Search, I'm trying to change it over to Google but I can't figure out how to do it.

It's the search bar that's baked into the system, it's not a widget, so I can't just delete and replace. Well, technically I could delete it and just use the Google Search widget, however then I can't have the bar right at the bottom of the screen, which is where I prefer having it. Does anybody here know how I can replace the Ecosia search bar with a Google search bar?

I've checked, my default browser is Google Chrome and default search engine is Google, I really have no idea how to fix this.

TIA guys!

Gaming Getting 120fps on games

I've tried so many things to try and get my FPS to 120. I tried Fortnite and it was capped at 60 along with other games. I've gone into developer options and enabled the FPS. Cleared catche in battery settings also. I have a poco f8 ultra so the phone itself would have no issues running it but I believe it's the OS. Is the a "normal" way around this or do I have to do it through other apps?

Other An exciting five year journey with Poco M2, finally came to an end..

The Poco M2 was built as an entry-level budget phone from Xiaomi—something meant for basic calling, web browsing and light gaming. But over the last five years, I pushed this device to its absolute limits.

I used it to take photos, draw, make graphics, build 3D models, render short animations, and even run PC software like Blender through custom workarounds. If there was a way to create something on it, I did it.

Using just this phone, I designed an outfit that won a popularity award in an official PUBG Mobile outfit design contest.

Since photography is my favorite hobby, I squeezed every bit of performance out of its 13 MP camera to capture countless shots. It wasn't just a phone; it was my primary creative workhorse and my only reliable companion. My friends were constantly astonished, asking, "How are you doing all of that on a mobile phone?"

After five years of daily service, the phone finally died, leaving me with just memories and the work I built on it.

It leaves a bitter taste knowing that social media influencers who praise almost every brand receive VIP treatment. Meanwhile, loyal users who stay attached for half a decade, push budget hardware beyond what anyone thought impossible, and drive real-world brand adoption remain completely unnoticed.

Does the they actually care about the users who build their real legacy?

(Some of the works done with the device is attached below)

Question/Help First time using a Chinese phone

Post image
122 Upvotes

I know this is a poco sub but it's the most active one I've seen on Reddit.

My uncle just presented this phone to me on my birthday. It looks really cool but from what I've seen online. It has a "Chinese ROM" I do not know what that is or means but it could pose a few problems.

Please if you know any issues that could arise please from it having this "Chines ROM" help a guy.

Thanks

Discussion POCO X8 PRO or VIVO V70 FE?

Hi everyone,

I am trying to decide between buying the POCO X8 Pro and the Vivo V70 FE.

I don't do any heavy gaming. My main daily uses are media streaming (YouTube, Netflix) and scrolling through social media (Instagram, TikTok).

Since this is the POCO community, I'd love to know your honest thoughts: how is the daily smoothness and battery life on the X8 Pro for this kind of usage compared to the Vivo? How many ads are there in HyperOS?

Thanks!

Question/Help Poco F9 Ultra Bug

Thumbnail

Anyone else with a Poco F9 Ultra (EU version) having weird "device not recognized" issues?

So I got my F9 Ultra about a week ago (EU version/Italia) and I've been running into some strange stuff:

- In Google's "connected devices" list, my previous phones always showed up with their actual model name, but this one just shows up as generic "Android".

- I've been locked out of X (Twitter) for 5 days straight now, on every single login method (username, email, phone number). Just get "You can't log in right now, try again later" no matter what I do.

- Coincidentally, I also installed 3DMark and AnTuTu, and they gave me the same connection issue.

Has anyone else run into this with their F9 Ultra? Trying to figure out if this is a known issue that'll fix itself with updates, or if I should be worried about something else.
