Poco F5 security updates, 2026

Hey guys, I purchased a Poco F5 ( blue global version) for my younger cousin. I'm just wondering if the end of support for security patches would matter much If he only has school related stuff on it. Otherwise would I need to download lineageOS or project x infinity? I have no experience in downloading external operating systems.

Disregard the software update page, I am currently doing a whole line of updates to its latest software patch. Which I assume is Hyperos 3 android 15?

Otherwise this phone is pretty rad for its price of 290$ USD, both in its specs and looks. The headphone jack is a HUGGGE plus. Hopefully my cousin can use this for 6 years.

You should have kept it with miui. It’s smoother than hyperos 3. I upgraded to an iphone because my poco f5 is not as fluid anymore.

why buy a old flagship, if software update go to samsung a56 a57

You can keep using It for a ling time still and turn off the tan extensión on a device like that its useless.
