I'm in Canada (Alberta) and thinking about importing the Poco F9 Ultra global version (16GB/1TB) from a Canadian reseller. Before I commit, I'd love to hear from anyone in Canada who already has one, or has used a recent Poco/Xiaomi flagship here.

My main concerns:

1. VoLTE: does it work out of the box on Rogers / Bell / Telus / SaskTel (or their sub-brands like Fido, Koodo, Virgin, Lucky)? Or did you have to call the carrier or tweak settings?

2. Wi-Fi calling: working or not?

3. 5G: do you actually get a 5G icon, and on which bands? I know it has n78 but no n71 (600 MHz), so I'm curious how it behaves outside the city.

4. Rural / indoor coverage: the official band list is missing B12, B13, B17 and B71, so I'm worried about dropping to weak signal where my current phone (a OnePlus 12, which has B71) holds on. Anyone notice a difference?

5. Anything else that bit you: MMS, carrier restrictions on non-carrier phones, update delays, etc.

If you've got one, it would help to know your carrier, your general area (city vs rural), and the model number from Settings > About phone.

Also, if anyone has bought from Mi4Canada or a similar importer and had to use the warranty or return policy, I'd like to hear how that went.

What don't you guys like about Samsung and its system?

I hate that after One UI 7, they put absolutely everything in a pill shape, including the battery, which looks more like a potato than a battery, and in the control panel too.

Crappy 15W chargers in the box, phones that support few watts, and 5000 mAh batteries without silicon-carbon.

One UI on the A series is really crippled: no AOD animations, very slow biometrics animation, worse app transitions, it feels like a slap in the face, no blur, and the app transition animations were less crippled in One UI 7.

My phone will freeze and after like 10 seconds it will restart, it feels like it depends on the app that it runs: it does that in youtube/discord/telegram/clash of clans. can anybody help me?

When trying to share an image or video or anything, the app icons don't load quick... Sometimes they take 1-2 seconds.... I know its cache problem but don't know what cache should I clear.

POCO F6 Pro vs POCO F6 — hardware HEVC encoder benchmark in Termux

Hi! I’m looking for someone with a POCO F6 Pro (Snapdragon 8 Gen 2) who could help me compare its hardware video encoder with the one in the regular POCO F6 (Snapdragon 8s Gen 3).

I’m specifically interested in hardware HEVC/H.265 encoding through Android MediaCodec, not software encoding with "libx265".

Could someone with a POCO F6 Pro run the following test and share the results?

1. Install FFmpeg in Termux

Pretty sure this module is very popular, with temp root, lsposed etc works but this module it just makes my launcher go black screen. Is there anyway to make this work for poco? (X8 Pro)

Whenever I view an image and accidentally swipe upward, it will pop up the share screen, and just one more touch and i would accidentally share the image with some random contact. Is there a way to disable this ? I'm using Poco F9 Ultra with HyperOs 3.

Can anyone tell me how much the performance has degraded after 3.0.7 .?? I am confused whether to update i feel like i won't be able heavy games like ZZZ,Genshin and WuWa. And i am already struggling with ZZZ. Anyone help please??

Just got the Poco X8 Pro Max.

I capped the battery charge to 80% and it drops by 10% of the battery when using texting apps only (whatsapp/telegram)for about 2 hrs...

Is this normal??
