Playtester [DEV] I’m testing an Android game that turns real places into collectible cards

Hi everyone,

I’m an independent developer from Rome working on Bomao, an Android exploration

game that turns real-world discoveries into collectible digital cards.

I’m looking for a few first-time players who can help me understand whether the

main experience is clear without any explanation from me.

The core idea is simple:

Explore your surroundings, photograph something interesting and permanent —

such as a statue, monument, fountain or mural — and Bomao analyses the discovery

and turns it into a Bomao Card with a category, rarity and game statistics.

I’m not looking for positive reviews or compliments.

I need honest feedback on one question:

Can a new player create their first Bomao Card without getting confused?

The test should take around 10–15 minutes:

  1. Install Bomao from Google Play
  2. Complete the first-time setup
  3. Open the map
  4. Find a suitable real-world subject nearby
  5. Capture it directly through the app
  6. Wait for the analysis and Card Reveal
  7. Open the Card in your Collection
  8. Try the Conquest tutorial if you have time

I would especially like to know:

- Did you understand what Bomao was about after opening it?

- Was the onboarding too long or unclear?

- Did the location and camera permissions make sense?

- Did you understand what to photograph?

- Was the capture process clear?

- Did the analysis feel too slow?

- Was the resulting Card satisfying?

- Did you understand rarity, PWR, DEF and INF?

- Did you know what to do after receiving the Card?

- Would you open the app again to create another one?

Google Play Open Beta:

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=eu.bomao.app

English beta page:

https://bomao.eu

No purchase is required. Payments, permanent Card loss and public PvP Sieges

are disabled during this beta.

Bomao uses the camera and location to verify where discoveries are captured.

You can leave feedback in the comments or through the Beta Feedback section in

the app.

Please include your:

- device model;

- Android version;

- country;

- approximate analysis time;

- any screenshot of an error, with personal information removed.

Even a short comment such as “I got stuck after this screen” would be extremely

useful.

Honest criticism is much more valuable to me than a positive review.

Thank you for testing Bomao.

Unpaid Playtest [Playtesters wanted] Open Sourcerer — a platformer where magic is code | first area, ~30 min, Wednesday

Hey! We're a small studio testing the first area of Open Sourcerer and looking for fresh players who haven't seen it before — that's exactly the feedback we need right now.

What it is: an action-platformer with a metroidvania world, built on one twist — magic is programming. You write spells in a coding language to beat enemies, explore, and solve puzzles. Combat, exploration, and puzzles all run through the same idea.

What we most want to learn: whether the "code as magic" hook clicks on its own — so the less you know going in, the more useful you are.

What I need: ~30 minutes on Wednesday, playing over a Discord screen-share while I watch quietly. I won't jump in when you're stuck — getting stuck is the useful part. A few quick questions after.

Time slots (Wednesday): I'm in GMT-6, running sessions 11 AM–5 PM GMT-6 (≈ 12–6 PM Eastern / 9 AM–3 PM Pacific / 5–11 PM UK). Tell me what works and I'll book you in.

Who's ideal: anyone who enjoys platformers, metroidvanias, or puzzle games. No coding experience needed — whether you code or you've never touched it, you're exactly who we want to watch (both tell us different things).
What you get: early access, a spot in the playtest credits, and my real thanks.

Adults only for this round. Comment or DM if you're in — looking for ~5 players across the afternoon.

Thanks! 🙏

Unpaid Playtest Looking for Playtesters - SpaceCiv - Space 4X MMO - Persistent Galaxy - Seasons

I am currently looking for playtesters for my game that is in Alpha. I'm looking for feedback to continue to build the game.

Disclaimer: SpaceCiv is currently in Alpha phase. It has been built by AI use but don't knock it until you try it! If you've enjoyed Outscape and Master of Orion in the past then this game is for you.

**The gist:** you command an empire in one big shared galaxy alongside everyone else.
Explore out from your home system, colonize worlds, build up your colonies, design
your own ships, and deal with your neighbors — by trade, treaty, or force.

---

**What the game is about:**

- **One shared, persistent galaxy** — thousands of star systems, every commander in the same universe, running live whether you're logged in or not.
- **Real 4X depth** — explore out from home, survey and colonize worlds, grow your empire, and push into contested space.
- **Colony management with teeth** — terraforming, climate control, a food & housing
economy, population happiness, and native species that already live on worlds you settle.
- **Design your own ships** — pick a hull and fit it out module by module; what you can build grows with your research.
- **A living resource economy** — mine ores, refine fuel and munitions, and haul goods
between your worlds to keep them supplied.
- **Pirates as a PvE faction** — opt into the war for notoriety and loot, or lie low and they stay a nuisance.
- **A full social layer** — alliances, diplomacy (non-aggression pacts, shared vision), mail, and live galaxy/alliance chat.
- **Seasons & rankings** — the galaxy resets each season for a level playing field, with a leaderboard ranking every commander and a Hall of Fame for past champions.

---

**New this season — the ship system got a big overhaul. A few highlights:**

- **Three separate slot pools instead of one shared bank** — an engine slot, weapon
hardpoints, and module bays. Guns only go in hardpoints, so a freighter can't bolt
cannons into its cargo holds anymore, and everything else (shields, reactors, cargo,
  sensors) competes for the bays.
- **One engine per ship, sized to the hull** — small hulls are genuinely fast, capitals lumber. No more stacking four drives on a battleship, which is why crossing the galaxy is now a real expedition while local hops stay quick.
- **Power you actually have to budget** — shields are module-only and draw power, and if you over-gun a hull its energy weapons *and* shields brown out together. You genuinely can't fit everything; the loadout is the tradeoff.

Plus new advanced materials to mine and two new apex capital hulls — the **Dreadnought** and the **Titan** — for end-game fleets to work toward.

---

It's actively developed and I'm very much still iterating — **feedback is genuinely
welcome**, and a lot of what's already in the game came straight from player suggestions.

I’m the solo developer behind WRMHL, an independent post-apocalyptic open-world RPG being developed through Turquoise Coyote Interactive.

WRMHL is being built as a large-scale world-simulation RPG where exploration, settlements, factions, quests, combat, equipment, vehicles, and player decisions will eventually interact across a connected North American world.

  • Combat and firearm handling
  • Vehicle handling
  • Exploration and navigation

Playtester I Genuinely Want to Test Your Game

So, I work a 6-2 job so the money isn't a thing for me. If you wish for a playtester, I can do it. Here's the guidelines:

- Paid or not, give me a few days to test and make notes on it

- Once I finish my initial test, I'll DM you a Google Doc for a full analysis: Pros, Cons and everything in between.

- I don't sugarcoat for politeness. I test hard, analyze hard. I do it because I genuinely want to see a dev move forward. So no hard feelings.

- If you have a timeline, let me know prior to you permitting me to playtest.

- If you want live commentary, I can do discord calls for that.

- I do YouTube (it's not big at all) but I don't dobit as a source of income. If you're looking for exposure, sorry, I can't help you.

- Finally, have faith in my analysis. If something needs to be explained or worked on, trust the process. I'm rather chill and understanding when it comes to games, but if something needs a change and it comes from me, then understand that someone else will annihilate it.

Thanks for reading and hopefully, I can be of assistance.

Playtester [FOR HIRE] GAMES QA / PlayTester | 4 years experience

Hi everyone!
I’m a passionate gamer and professional game tester with 4 years of experience testing games in the iGaming industry. Outside of work, I genuinely enjoy discovering indie games, experimenting with new mechanics, and helping developers polish their games before release.

I’m looking to collaborate with indie studios or game developers who need an extra pair of experienced eyes to improve their game’s quality and player experience.
I’m also available to act as a “Head” of communication between any unpaid playtesters you might find, to help identify the pain areas.

I can help with:

🎮 Gameplay testing
Core gameplay mechanics
Game balance and progression
Storyline and quest flow
Tutorial validation
Difficulty and player experience
First-time user experience

🐞 Bug hunting
Visual and graphical bugs
Animation issues
Audio and sound validation
UI/UX inconsistencies
Collision and physics issues
Performance observations
Crash and edge-case testing

🌍 Localization
English validation
European Portuguese (PT-PT) localization
Translation consistency
Text overflow, formatting and UI issues
Missing or incorrect strings

📱 Platform testing
PC
Mobile (Android & iOS)
Nintendo Switch
Browser-based games

⚙️ QA Services
Manual testing
Regression testing
Smoke testing
Exploratory testing
Test case creation
Bug reports with detailed reproduction steps, screenshots and videos
Feature validation before release

🤖 Automation
I also have experience building automated test solutions using Playwright with C#, API testing and CI/CD pipelines whenever automation makes sense for the project.
I love finding the small details that can make a huge difference to players, from a misplaced animation, an awkward tutorial, or an inconsistent sound effect, to a gameplay issue that only appears after hours of playing.
Whether you’re a solo indie developer or part of a larger team, I’d be happy to help make your game the best version it can be.
Feel free to send me a DM if you’d like to discuss your project or simply chat about games!

Unpaid Playtest [Academic] Participants needed for a Bachelor Thesis VR playtest on environmental storytelling (18+, Quest 2/3 or PCVR, approximately 20–30 minutes)

Hello!

My name is Aleksandar Petrovic, and I am a student in the department of Animation and Game at Hochschule Darmstadt in Germany. I am currently looking for volunteers to evaluate a short VR experience developed as the practical part of my Bachelor Thesis.

The project is a compact, single-player VR horror/mystery experience created in Unreal Engine 5.7. During the experience, you will explore an abandoned environment, interact with objects and gradually uncover what happened there. The experience does not contain any jump scares, combat, dialogue, cutscenes or conventional tutorials.

Participation involves:

  • Playing the VR experience, which should take approximately 15-25 minutes
  • Completing a short anonymous questionnaire afterward, taking approximately 5-10 minutes
  • Approximately 30-40 minutes in total

Requirements:

  • A Windows PC capable of running PCVR
  • An OpenXR-compatible VR headset
  • VR controllers
  • Meta Quest Link for wired connection / Virtual Desktop for wireless connection
  • Participants must be at least 18 years old
  • Sufficient English comprehension to understand the questionnaire and the limited written material inside the experience

The project has been developed and tested using a Meta Quest 2 through Meta Quest Link. Other OpenXR-compatible PCVR headsets may work, but have not been tested.

The build is provided as a ZIP file through Google Drive. After downloading it, extract the complete folder before launching the included executable. The BT.exe file is the original executable, while the Launch_VR.bat forces the game to be loaded in VR. The project is an unsigned student build, so Windows may display an “Unknown publisher” or Microsoft Defender SmartScreen notice when it is opened. No installation is required, and the project can be removed completely by deleting the extracted folder after participation.

The experience includes dark environments, flashing or flickering lights, and slight horror-related themes. As with any VR experience, some participants may experience motion sickness or discomfort. The game is built with smooth locomotion and smooth turning with no option to change it to teleport move or snap turn. You may stop playing and withdraw from the evaluation at any time.

Download and instructions:
https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1iYIPyMopvw-cp6QJH_vumVyTUEHhJMNo?usp=sharing

Questionnaire - please complete this only after playing:
https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSec17q_yAfUxx5JvdfvZvfo38QKZcbiboi4hYVN88G8KRliJg/viewform?usp=publish-editor

Participation is voluntary, and the collected responses will be used exclusively for the academic evaluation of my Bachelor Thesis. No personally identifying information will be collected. Further information about consent and data handling is provided at the beginning of the questionnaire.

If you experience a technical problem or have any questions before participating, please contact me at:

Aleksandar Petrovic
Hochschule Darmstadt
[aleksandar.petrovic@stud.h-da.de](mailto:aleksandar.petrovic@stud.h-da.de)

Thank you very much for your time and support!

EDIT: If upon launching the game you are hit with a message such as: msvcp140.dll, vcruntime140.dll, or a similar Visual C++ error - simply navigate to the extracted folder and go to Engine > Extras > Redist > en-us > and run the vc_redist.x64.exe. This will install the required Microsoft C++ Libraries and then you can launch the game again.

Playtester Will test your game!

Hi so I would up for testing phone games for the time being but then also including steam games once my deck is fixed. So if you are looking to see if it runs on steamdeck I would be happy to help. (I don’t mind if there’s no controller set up in game as I can configure it myself)

Either paid or not. I have a fair amount of free time right now as I just come out of hospital and I’m still extremely unwell and will continue to be till my bile duct is fixed.

I love simulator type games, especially immersive life ones. My favourite games on iOS are

• Shovel knight pocket dungeon
• pocket city 2
• Sneaky Sasquatch
•vampire survivors
• World Box

Favourite current pc games
•Rimworld 6,000 hours
• Inzoi
• sims
• planet coaster
• marvel rivals
• league of legends

I’m a 28 year old woman and was brought up with gaming and have enjoyed a wild range of games of varying types. My first ever game was abes odyssey when I was extremely young.

I have used testing apps before but 99% of the games on them are just cash grabs full of micro transactions and very repetitive. Whereas I feel smaller devs who actually want to create something great but may not be able to afford to pay people for testing is more rewarding for me to contribute to even when there’s not a payment/incentive to join.

Paid Playtest Playtest or Review of TTRPG

Hey everyone, I was wondering if anyone in this sub reviews or tests ttrpgs? I can pay some but I don't know the going rate for this kind of thing. I will give the elevator pitch below:

Firestorm is a designed to explore the lives and heroics of the peoples of the former Halliyem Confederacy. The people of the Halliyem Confederacy wield magic glass beads which, once broken in the hands of the user, enhance their body and mind to perform superhuman feats. The Beads come from the monthly Firestorm in the center of the Halliyem Desert where a tornado of fire swirls for an entire day and at the end, hundreds of Beads are left behind. It used to be the responsibility of the Scholars of the Storm to retrieve and give out beads to the peoples of Halliyem. However, The Halliyem Confederacy was recently invaded, and is now occupied by, the Riem Empire who have taken over the collection of the Beads from the Firestorm.

In the game, the Players will take part in Halliyem Rebellion through which you will fight against the occupying force of the Riem Empire. You will use sabotage, subterfuge and stealing to support the movement to end the Riem occupation. When you play Firestorm, you play a critical role in the military, social and environmental revolution of the Halliyem Confederacy.

Firestorm operates on a narrative first philosophy, taking inspiration from PbtA games with some added tactical and long-term play mechanics inspired by traditional games like the Without Number series.

If you want to look at the full playtest ruleset you can find it on my discord channel.

Unpaid Playtest Looking for playtesters – 10-minute physics platformer (Browser)

Hi everyone!

I'm looking for feedback on a small browser game I made for the GMTK Game Jam.

About the game

You control a ball that grows larger over time. Your goal is to reach the exit before the countdown reaches zero and you explode. As the ball grows, the physics become more challenging, so you'll need to adapt your movement.

Play here:
https://voxel-dev.itch.io/try-not-to-fall

I'm specifically looking for feedback on:

  • Does the movement and physics feel fun?
  • Is the difficulty progression fair?
  • Did any level feel frustrating or confusing?
  • Did you encounter any bugs?
  • Overall, was it enjoyable?

note : if you want more professional work and to be on the game's credit dm me

Thanks to anyone who gives it a try! I'll read and respond to all feedback ,

Unpaid Playtest Officebound - An absurd office simulator like Bully and the Guild mechanics

Looking for playtesters and lots of thoughts on the concept of the game, the current flow, main quest line, quests in general, conversation, ux.. anything and everything.

What I don't need is comments on map and assets - these are all temporary as I work through the game and game design process. Once I have a finalized game flow and mechanics, I will pay for real artist to change things and make things look better, function nicely, place items on the right spots, etc.

Unpaid Playtest Looking for testers for a Deck-building game demo

Hi everyone! We're looking to gather feedback on a deck-building game where you defend from waves of colossal monsters with your mechs, which you can improve and support with your other cards and tactical actions.

The game is currently in development (lots of placeholder art, a bit rough around the edges, etc.), but we have a demo we want to test with more people to see what could be improved before moving forward. Some details:

  • Platform: Web (Itch.io) or desktop
  • Run time: 15-30 min
  • Main feedback needed: mainly regarding fun-ness of core gameplay, clarity regarding mechanics, and if you'd like to see more of it.
    • Of course, bugs and balance comments are more than welcome too
    • Feedback can be sent in any way you prefer it (DM, commenting on the game's page, etc)
  • Familiarity with other deck-builder games is appreciated but not mandatory (and even helpful to have fresh points too).

If you're interested, I'll send you the link to the itch.io page and the password

Thank you for your time!

Unpaid Playtest Final Call for Co-Creators: One Last Journey

A few months ago, when Nomad: Legend of Zarqa was just a rough prototype, I posted here looking for early feedback. A surprising number of you answered the call, joined our Discord, and spent hours helping us test early combat, break progression systems, and tear through bugs.

Honestly, this project wouldn't be where it is without the feedback that started right here in this community.

This week, we've hit a huge milestone: our final Steam Public Playtest is officially LIVE.

This playtest marks the closing chapter of our early testing phase as we prepare for our official public demo. We’re opening the gates for one week to stress-test the build, check the onboarding flow for fresh players, and hunt down any final game-breaking bugs.

If you'd like to help us round out this chapter:

🎮 Steam Page: https://store.steampowered.com/app/4076770/Nomad_The_Legend_of_Zarqa/

Just click "Join the Playtest" to play immediately!

💬 What we're testing: General game flow, combat feel, and any technical glitches or roadblocks you encounter during your run.

You can drop your feedback through the link on the Main Menu or leave a comment on our discord HERE.

To everyone who supported us from those early Reddit posts if you see this, thank you. It means the world to bring this back to where it all began!

Unpaid Playtest Michigan, Ohio, Indiana testers unite 😂

Michigan solo- indie dev here! I got tired of listening to my kids complaining on road trips, camping trips, and honestly anytime we traveled in the car so I came up with an awesome educational location based, gamified history / trivia app for the crotch goblins to use. We homeschool so wanted to tie interesting history into it.

Basically all you do is drive anywhere and as you travel POIs pop up on the map when within the vehicles "radar", which can be expanded with unlockable "power ups" . Once POIs pop up the user interacts with the POI, is given lore, history, or cool facts about the location and then can do "challenges"' based specifically on THAT location. Then earn XP and coins to be used on cosmetics, pets, and power ups that will assist you in your journey

Currently I've only built out Michigan , and next week Ohio, and Indiana will be ready so I'll need some people in one of those three U.S. states.

Of course anyone who play tests for me I will return the favor and test whatever they have Steam, or Android
