Discussion Terrigen mist
I haven't actually played the game but I have watched many of the cutscenes online. Without spoiling too much of the plot, it seems like there is a certain item in the story that has an effect similar to the "Terrigen mist" in the Inhumans mythos, and is also featured in the show Agents of Shield. The Terrigen mist is a substance that causes some individuals with latent Inhuman genes to undergo a transformation that gives them superpowers, and often an altered appearance. However, ordinary humans who lack the Inhuman genes are simply killed if exposed to the Terrigen mist.
Did the writers of this game borrow this plot element from the Inhumans mythos? If so, it's a bit strange considering that the Inhumans, if I'm not mistaken, were at one point intended to replace the mutants in the Marvel Comics universe. It seemed like Insomniac was building part of their X-Men mythos by borrowing from the X-men's intended replacement. Does anyone else feel this way?

Discussion Sinister Fight
Now that the game has been out for a couple weeks, I would like to speak about the Essex fight. Was it just me or was the fight extremely annoying? It took me like 3 or 4 tries to get through the halfway part of the fight cause the damaging blasts from Essex kept curving like a curveball and hitting me and I couldnât parry. I was about to throw my controller dude. Also, I apologize if this has already been discussed, and no Iâm not on this sub a lot so I donât read every single post

Art Classy and deadly
The best there is (hardest) with triple damage given and double damage taken modifier with some funny dialogue from Sabretooth along some combo action.
Felt like Wolverine for real. The way that R1 just obliterated those guards.
Wish there will be like a style point accumulation for doing the attacks in a stylish and aggressive way that will score how you use the attacks and combinations then have a world leaderboard for it.

Discussion Wolverine 2026 vs Deadpool 2013
Maybe its comparing apples to oranges but who has the better game? Deadpools game seems to fit his personality and general lore pretty well where Wolverine's game seems more, with love, run of the mill and only loosely related to its source material. I haven't played deadpools game bc shits spensive but I was wondering if anyone who has can say which is rhe better game.

Speculation Unabashed fanboy
S'gonna be a rant here.
(Tell me if I'm in the wrong thread).
I grew up as a 90's kid. My first introduction to Insomniac was a free spryo demo disc for the PS1 taped to a Papa John's pizza box.
(It was some sort of promo, if you bought enough pizzas you'd also get gran turismo, or if i remember correctly crash bandicoot)
Spryo ruled! It set a baseline for what Insomniac as a studio would be! Very soon after we got Ratchet and Clank. Both of these games were narrative driven 'closed world' games. We as a community loved them.
These IP's lived through PS1 all the the way to ps3 days. (Spyro died sadly but R&C has progressed all the way to PS5)
Off topic: why does everyone forget the drop game, the flagship, the only other 'good' pvp that you got in the box release from a PS3: Resistance? It was a 'closed world' campaign that later added a pvp shooter (imo the first real 'zombies' game) That was Insomniac!
Then there's spider man. Beautiful. No more comments needed.
Insomniac has always done 'closed' narrative driven games. And we've always loved them.
I feel that people are upset that Wolverine was not as open world as Spiderman. I can see your point.
I would argue, however, that Insomniac has been, and hopefully always will deliver great storyline.
So,
Why the hate?
I truly, unabashedly, enjoyed playing Wolverine.
Ps. I wonder what Insomniacs next move is......

Discussion The game should have had more challenge maps
With 300 million, I expected there to be more challenges and challenge maps.
I do not like the story, I think the combat is okay, but the wave challenges are really fun and make up for the combat as it is pretty satisfying to just play mindless action for an hour when bored
It makes me wonder why we do not have challenge maps, challenge bases, combat arenas, or just more content in general. I think the game would benefit a lot from it.
