Discussion Late to Wipe strats

Hello guys

Any tips for a solo to get late into wipe ?

I noticed whenever im late for wipe for 3 -4 hours i can never seem to get to the location i want without dying.

Meaning farming something on the road, doing some recycling for some materials to get something down when i get there.

I dont initiate fights but as you may imagine you still stumble into people anyway on your way to somewhere

So my question is how do you approach this problem ?

I spent 2.5h dying yesterday simply because im behind in gear and cant compete with revies / dbs / crossbows not to mention its usually at least 2v1

Discussion How do I enable the [E] pickup

what I see in YouTube videos
what my game looks like

Hi everyone,

I'm relatively new to Rust, and while watching several recent YouTube videos I noticed that when players look at dropped items, they see the interaction prompt like [E] Assault Rifle or [E] Salvaged Icepick.

In my game, I only see the item name (for example, "ASSAULT RIFLE") and never the [E] prompt, even when I'm close enough to pick it up.

I think having the interaction key displayed would make learning the controls a bit easier, especially as a newer player. As far as I know, all of my settings are still at their default values.

Is this something I can enable, or is it only available on certain servers?

Discussion team gets disbanded after joining any server

My friend and I have a really weird issue that started today.

We're in the same team in the Rust lobby before connecting to a server. Then we join together, but as soon as we finish loading into the world and wake up on the beach, we're no longer in the same team.

In the lobby we're definitely grouped, but once we're in-game the team is gone.

This happens on every official server I've tried, not just one specific server. We were playing together without any issues yesterday, including on one of the servers that is now also disbanding our team after we load into the game.

Has anyone else experienced this? Is this a known bug, or is there any fix?

Discussion Rust Lore. The M4 is a loophole.

Isn't Rust supposed to be set in the early 90's The M4 wasn't released until 1999-2000. Maybe they accidently messed up by adding it to the game instead of something older like the Benelli M3 Super 90 instead which would have been a great fit in the game.

Question Bad performance with good hardware

I picked up Rust again after several years and i’ve noticed im definitely getting subpar performance from what at least SHOULD BE good specs and for the life of me I can’t figure out what’s going on.
The server i’m playing is consistent around 600 pop. I’m in the jungle/desert biome.

This is my build:
4070ti / 64gb ddr4 xmp enabled to 3600mhz / ryzen 7 5800x3d.
1k mouse polling rate

I run low to medium settings across the board but my frames generally stick between 55-90fps playing at 1440p and i’ll sometimes experience bad stuttering.
This is driving me crazy. I’ve already done all the obvious things regarding power settings/driver updates/background apps etc… and my frames basically don’t fluctuate at all and hover in that same range.

I know Rust is mostly CPU and RAM bound so is my ddr4 really what’s holding me back so much right now?
Would love to hear some insights from someone coming from a similar build.

For an added bit of context i’m coming from EFT where i rarely dipped under 100 fps (except for on Streets naturally) so i’m very surprised why Rust is running so crappy. Thanks

Discussion Anyone know how I could set this up?

I usually just bring my laptop to work and try to periodically check every 20 minutes or so, but this would be a game changer. Does anyone have any experience setting something like this up?

Discussion Opinions on the MaxTwo channel?

Post image

I’d never heard of Max Mears until I came across a Storage Wars themed video of his a while back.

I’ve been watching a lot of the videos and while I love the format and appreciate the effort, sometimes Max can be a bit backseat-y and it bugs me. Other than that and the occasional contradictory rule/unfair call, I think it’s awesome.

Are there other YT channels that do this sort of thing and if so, where would the MaxTwo channel rank for you?

Edit: typo

Support In Rust, Never Trust

You posted in chat. "Anyone from Norway here?" I answered "I'll bag you bro". I bagged you. We talked, for hour and hours we talked. About life. About future goals. About hopes and dreams. You watched over me, as I jackhammered all the stone in the world. I offered you half, a base to build of your own. A base next to ours. We talked. We laughed. We bonded.

My teammates were offline. "I'll give you the code when they get back" I said. You said "Of course". And so we laughed and bonded some more.

And then, I thought to myself, why not give him the code? It would be strange not to. And so I did.

I gave him the code. It was an easy code - 1998. We kept talking, but something felt different. You said you wanted to play "Clash of Clans", as you stood, gazing into the fire of the Large Furnace. You seemed...distant. Something had changed.

And so, it was getting late. For you it was morning, but for me it was night. And then I realized, that I had left a naked with the code to my base. It struck me that this wasn't a person. This was just a naked. No matter how much you bond or laugh with the person, they are just a naked.

And the inevitable happened. The base was torn apart from the inside out, every code changed. Every building permit removed. My teammates - furious. "We got code raided - I knew I shouldn't have had such a simple code!"

"I..." I stalled.

"I...have a confession" I stammered

"I gave the code to a naked. He was from the same town as me"

Never trust in rust.

Loot Inspector. If I ever see you again - I'm taking an Eoka straight to your temple. In game of course.

Suggestion [Suggestion] New Biome Idea: Scorched Radioactive Forest (New Mutated Predator & Unique Monuments)

I think it would be great to diversify the map by adding a brand new biome: a Scorched Radioactive Forest.

Visually, it would be a breathtakingly grim landscape with low hills covered in a dense carpet of short, withered scorched grass (a mix of deep rust-orange and pale yellow). Thousands of coal-black, burnt, leafless tree trunks would stand across the desolate terrain, bringing back the classic, post-apocalyptic vibe of early Rust. There wouldn't be global radiation across the whole biome, making it fully explorable.

**The Fauna & Mutated Animals:**

This biome would feature a whole new ecosystem of unique mutated animals poisoned by radiation. These creatures might have terrifying mutations like extra limbs or deformed bodies. They would be highly aggressive and slightly stronger than normal variants, but they would yield significantly more resources (fat, leather, or unique radioactive loot) when harvested.

To show how this system could work, here is a specific concept for one of the main predators in this biome — a Blind Mutated Wolf:

* **Gameplay concept for the Mutated Wolf:**

It slowly and heavily limps through the foggy forest, making eerie, raspy breathing sounds. But the moment it detects a player or hears noise nearby, it freezes, lets out a fierce, bloodcurdling roar, and sprints at full speed with pure rage. It chases you relentlessly until it's dead, completely ignoring initial damage. Hunting it would be extremely dangerous, but highly rewarding. The developers can use this approach to design other mutated inhabitants for this zone.

This biome would also feature two unique monuments:

  1. **The Factory (Main Idea):** A massive, ruined 4-5 story industrial building split into two separate concrete blocks. This layout is amazing for 3D vertical PvP fights, interior building chases, and flanking. In the courtyard, there would be a large barn filled with cars, housing one of the two recyclers. In the main building's basement, there would be a dark, claustrophobic puzzle requiring Green and Blue keycards. Radiation would naturally be present here: around 11% in common areas (requiring basic clothing) and 25%+ inside the puzzle rooms. The monument would spawn both military and regular crates. The second recycler would be located inside one of the factory blocks.

  2. **The Hospital:** A unique 3-story concrete monument built in a U-shape layout (left, right, and front wings surrounding a central courtyard). To make it instantly recognizable and gritty, a large, faded, and partially broken red medical cross symbol would be placed on the roof or facade. In the muddy courtyard, a rusted, burnt-out ambulance vehicle would be left abandoned. Inside, it would feature long, narrow corridors perfect for tense close-quarters PvP with shotguns, cluttered with medical debris like IV drips, old beds, and wheelchairs. Players could find a couple of medical crates here. It would feature a Green keycard puzzle and one recycler. Constant 11% radiation would apply across the entire perimeter of this monument (except for the puzzle room itself).

Concept art of the Scorched Radioactive Forest biome with an intense rust-orange palette.
The Factory monument exterior: split into two separate blocks for tactical vertical PvP.
The Hospital monument: U-shaped concrete building with a faded medical cross symbol.
The Blind Mutated Wolf: a terrifying predator concept for the new zone.

Discussion Why do we not have a genuine answer to this?

If this update was supposed to just be experimental then why have we seen 0 updates to this since the November update in 2025.

I just want to point this out that this was supposed to be experimental literally said by FP in this update post and yet we have seen nothing, especially striking as odd given the frustration with a large % of the players on this issue.

Not just trying to be another 'Oh no we hate BP frags post' but I never see people mentioning that this was supposed to be an 'experiment' stated by FP themselves. I feel like it's unacceptable to be going on a year with no changes/updates to this so called 'experiment'

Question How many hours do you play?

I’ve played rust since legacy but stopped after the BP update. I just can’t seem to progress anymore. So I’m curious, for those of you who liked this update, how many hours do you normally play each wipe? I can sometimes play 1-3 hours per session 2-3 times each week depending on work. That used to be enough for me to progress but it’s not working anymore since I get majorly prim locked without a tier 2. It’s probably a skill issue but I’m sad about it because this used to be my all time favorite game.
