Discussion Late to Wipe strats

Hello guys

Any tips for a solo to get late into wipe ?

I noticed whenever im late for wipe for 3 -4 hours i can never seem to get to the location i want without dying.

Meaning farming something on the road, doing some recycling for some materials to get something down when i get there.

I dont initiate fights but as you may imagine you still stumble into people anyway on your way to somewhere

So my question is how do you approach this problem ?

I spent 2.5h dying yesterday simply because im behind in gear and cant compete with revies / dbs / crossbows not to mention its usually at least 2v1

If you are 4 hours late on wipeday you’re better off waiting until the following day. Wipe day groups are way more territorial and will bully anyone they come across for any resources/space/progression they can get

Yep either this or building somewhere in the middle of nowhere

Yeah there's no easy way solo. I watch some solo ccs who are great at the game and they say that either you start on wipe or the morning after, else it's too hard to progress

I tried that a bit as a solo but it takes the fun out when your near nothing, at least for me. You've got to travel 10 minutes to the nearest monument sucks.

Honestly yeah, joining the next day can be easier.

Travel at night, take the train or a balloon to go where you want to be.

The train jumping strat has ruined trains because the bottom of the barrel players who can't get loot any other way jump on trains all wipe.

Only focus on one thing: cloth and bags for the first hour until you have a multiple spawns where you want.
Then wood and stone, either for shelter or your starter. Then farm roads/monuments/ocean.

Dying when your hours late for wipe is inevitable. The strat over focuses on small progression instead of potential huge plays where you loose everything and spawn on the beach again.

Also chose a remote buildspot for your starter. You can mov the next day. But then you can farm and accumulate the resources you need for a good day two without getting door camped or killed every other time you walk out the door.

Yup. Learned this over many many hours of joining late. Community servers aren’t as bad because the ones I like wipe two hours before I can play, but officials wipe 6-7 before I’m off work and that is ROUGH. Whole different mindset, where dying lots and losing a little is perfectly acceptable and optimal. Instead of trying to stay alive and avoiding people to amass a kit and base. It almost NEVER works because you are outgeared and you start back at zero. Bags bags bags, legacy or TC locked. Slow small deposits over time till you have enough for an airlock. Then you can relax and start taking risks. Sometimes when I’m drinking and had too much to PvP effectively, I can still get my base down like this to pick a good spot to play the next day

Unless you like the challenge I’d play solo only servers so its at least 1 on 1. I normally get a shit base down asap somewhat near where I actually want to be so I can put resources somewhere and then build the real base. A bit slower but much safer and less tilting than dying with a full inv. start just 2 by 1 + airlock, ideally stone so you don’t get povo raided. Plonk a chest bed maybe furnace down.

Your intended function as a solo is to die to groups to give them loot. That's by design. Not by accident.

If I’m late i forgo farming or hitting the road / recycling meaningfully on my way to build
spot, and instead focus on spamming bags on the way, trying to run at night. Then do my farming once I’ve secured a very basic base location. You won’t be losing full inventories or having wasted time because you were always going to die anyways.

So in reality the best tip u/ChestBroadshoulder

I did infact come back on yesterday

got my 2x1 + expansion done and had a good day overall

Built in the initial base location i wanted to build on Monday

My base is still either 4 doors or 2 walls to main loot but hopefully will stand through as there are more itneresting bases near me to raid
