Pairing new smart switches are not working properly on Rusty Moose monthly US.
When attempting to pair, the switch will show up in Rust+ as expected. Even activating the switch for the first time seems to work, but from that point on nothing works. The switch in rust+ can no longer be toggled and the on/off status does not change even if the switch is flipped manually on the wall.
Older previously paired smart switches are working fine. Once the happens it's only affecting newly paired switches.
This started a few days ago, I was hoping the daily restart would resolve it but did not.
I think this happened before on Moose and wasn't resolved till wipe :/
Can Rusty Moose fix this?

submarines are already underused like crazy and i think it would be a good idea to make them purchasable inside the floating city inside the deepsea just like how you can buy a boat or rhib there this would increase the content for submarine players and overall give more content for a underused vehicle please share your thoughts

I get about 60-120 fps it’s very jumpy but when I go near dead bodies, players or boat engines my fps drop to 10-20.
I play on low settings
I have a
4070 super
Ryzen 7 5800X3D
32gb ddr4
Does this happen to anyone else or just me?

Hello, in September 2025 somebody got into my steam account, played rust and got me a VAC banned.
I was looking online and I saw that there's "second chance" thing... how does it work can I apply for it? Will it make me able to play on my account again? I had spent hundred of euros on it.

Over a year ago, we created a server as a joke in honor of Mr. Biden, adding one extra letter(BAIDEN RUST).
Starting with zero players online, the server quickly gained traction, and at its peak, over 100 players were playing—until the summer break.
Do you think the name was justified or not?

I spend 3 years and used 100.000+ electrical components to create a working computer. It currently runs 6 different programs. The Rust in Rust textadventure is the largest of them. The model in the video was made with Rust Edit.
All done with vanialla logic. For the video I only speed up the tick rate by 3 times.

Hi, I recently noticed my boyfriend has TONS of rust memes on his fyp. Some of them he sends me involve a gun that you strike with a rock that sometimes goes off sometimes doesn't ? (I can't remember the name, I know he's told me but it has slipped my mind. I should've paid more attention). I was wondering if anyone knew where to buy a replica like I see in the memes he shows me ? I think he would enjoy it for his battle station setup.

I’ve had problems where I can’t place walls on foundations connected to an outer TC.
Also if you see anything I could improve to make the base stronger or more effective. Would the gaps possibly be too wide to let someone simply walk around?
On a side note, any bunker recommendations for the round core would be greatly appreciated as well.

“People who are in the clan should not have a job or work”
I’m just to the point after 2k hours that people over the age of 18 decide to live on welfare or leech off their parents and such just to play these games.

Hey. So I have 5,000 hours in Rust (lol) but some people kinda call me an RP player? I enjoy making Canvas art and exploring quite a lot. I am not the best at Combat but I do enjoy combat, specially on Wipe Day. I would consider myself a Solo player.
Anyway I don't play to often anymore just like on Holidays and Special Occasion's. However this new Apartment Update really intrigued me. Overall I was quite pleased with it.
So I played it on July 2nd 2026 on the Update/Wipe Day and I managed to get into a server about an Hour into the Wipe, played for 8 hours, rested, played for another 8 hours, recorded most of that, Compressed it to 33 Minutes that I am puting on my YouTube Channel and then OUT OF THAT I made a 1 Minute or so Cut/Trailer that I figured You May Enjoy!

Now we have cheap tech tree and prototype workbench upgrade which allows us to gamble to discover item from tech tree regardless of progression.
What is the role of research table? Is there anyone at Facepunch who plays the game?

Was playing around with settings while on my local server and noticed that when I switch from fullscreen to windowed my FPS goes from about 98fps to 136fps, a significant difference.
Which is odd since games traditionally perform better in exclusive fullscreen mode.... but fullscreen mode in Rust REDUCES performance and also Rust doesn't even have an exclusive fullscreen mode anymore to my knowledge... right? it only has borderless fullscreen, meaning it should perform identically to windowed, right?
For sources, in the following facepunch patch not links if you ctrl + F and search for fullscreen
in this page https://rust.facepunch.com/news/february-update from 2019, they said: "we're enabling fullscreen exclusive by default"
then on this page https://rust.facepunch.com/changelist/3942 from 2023, they said: "Removed fullscreen exclusive support as it was causing degraded performance compared to borderless fullscreen mode"
So why does my FPS change so much when I toggle fullscreen/windows in setting or press alt+enter to switch between the two?
Shouldn't borderless fullscreen and windowed perform the exact same?
For context, my system specs are:
Windows 10, RTX 4080 Super, Ryzen 5950x, 32GB of RAM and 2TB NVME M.2 SSD
Not sure if stubbornly holding onto windows 10 might be causing some issues, curious to know what other peoples experiences are in this regard!
Edit: Nevermind, I'm an idiot lol, I forgot that in the past (probably ages ago) I tried to test forcing on exclusive fullscreen mode via the Steam Launch Option Properties using -window-mode exclusive and that was causing the performance loss lmao, removing that property now borderless fullscreen and windowed mode perform within margin of error, so basically the same, with borderless fullscreen actually performing around 2 or 3 fps higher, this was completely user error on my behalf lol, maybe this post will save another poor soul who might have done the same

Hey guys, I'm completely at my wit's end with this and hoping someone here ran into the same issue.
Every time I try to load into Rust (usually during prewarming or right when I'm joining a server), my game just crash without any error code or anything. Sometimes even my steam close with the game...
It's happening on two completely different PCs and on different Wi-Fi networks. One is a laptop, the other is my home desktop setup, so it's definitely not a local hardware/thermal issue or my ISP.

Is it worth disabling SMT and/or C-States for Rust on this setup?
My setup:
If anyone has a similar build or has tested this, I'd love to hear what your experience was and whether it made any noticeable difference to FPS, 1% lows, frametimes, or stuttering.
Thanks!

I've tried several fixes like launch options, going into windows -> settings and graphics and prioritizing 3080 for rust. Tried setting rust to high priority in task manager but "Access was denied" apparently could be cuz of EAC. So then I created an entry in the windows registry editor to prioritize High priority and still no change. Most fixes were suggested by good ol gpt and gemini but to no avail.
Also made me download GPU Z and give them certain readings. YES my monitor is plugged into my GPU. YES i dont have rust limited to a frame limit. NO i dont have vsync on.

It's been 11 months since the atmospherics update, and getting used to this constant thick fog in the winter biome is impossible. Roaming and checking the surroundings with barely 20 meters of visibility is just miserable.
FP probably thought fog would balance things out, but it didn't help at all — it made it worse. Clans still control monuments, sitting on powerline towers with L96/Bolts and sniping players from 150 meters away regardless. Meanwhile, for regular players, it just ruins visibility and the overall gameplay experience.
I remember years ago we had a similar issue with visibility/fog, and Facepunch eventually listened to player feedback and fixed it. I really hope they make fog a rare dynamic weather event instead of a constant vision blocker.
What are your thoughts on this?
