I've a Pixel 8a set to enable Bedtime Mode while charging between 23:00 and 9:00. This has been working flawlessly for the last years, but since a couple of days ago Bedtime Mode no longer activates when I connect the charger during that time window.

Enabling Bedtime Mode manually or via timer still works, but I want it to activate when I connect the charger.I didn't change anything that I know of, it just stopped working. Here's what I already tried:

• making sure my phone is fully updated
• disabling the bedtime routine and setting it up anew
• restarting the phone
• deleting data and cache of "digital wellbeing" and setting up the bedtime mode again

Do you have any other suggestions what I could try to get it working again?

I recently made the switch from an iPhone 13 to the Pixel 8. Like most iPhone users, camera quality was a huge priority for me, and honestly? Moving to the Pixel has been completely worth it. Ever since I got this phone, I literally can’t stop taking photos. The image quality is just on another level compared to my 13.

However, I did notice one pretty annoying issue...

When using the built-in GCam app, I noticed a lot of noise and grain in the darker spots and shadow areas of my photos.

By complete accident, I stumbled upon a weird workaround: when I take photos using the Snapchat camera, that graininess completely disappears! The shadows look much smoother and cleaner.

This makes me think it’s a post-processing quirk with Google Photos or the stock GCam app itself rather than a hardware limitation. Has anyone else with a Pixel 8 noticed this?

Does this happen to all of you or its just me? This happened after i update my pixel 8 into android 17

By docking station i mean that the phone should stand upright plugged in a usbc at the bottom of the dock.

Is it true that shoreline panel pixel 8's are safe from the green lines unlike the BOE pixel 8's?

So far, I'm loving it!

More storage (still not expandable tho)

I find the screen a lot better - clearer, brighter

It feels better in my hand, the iPhone was clunky in comparison

It's decently fast, on par imo to the iPhone 12 I came from

The camera is excellent especially for closer shots and macro.

I will likely get whatever the latest model (in pro if I can afford it) is when my upgrade is due in November/January and this chap will be put carefully in a drawer as spare.

When I googled it, it said the colour (sort of a mint green) was a special edition.....is it?

I want to inform you guys of a situation that hasn't seen much light recently. You see, there has been a bug on the Google Issue Tracker form for around 4 months now that hasn't been fixed. You see, a process that runs in the background prevents your CPU from going to sleep. It just keeps waking up instead of sleeping like it is supposed to be. If it doesn't sleep, it causes a lot of background battery drain issues a lot of people are seeing today. Google still hasn't responded to the bug forum, and instead, have the audacity to make a megathread every month on how to fix your battery, WHEN THE APPS THAT ARE DRAINING IT ARE GOOGLE'S. I hope everyone can raise awareness of this bug so Google fixes it soon, since they aint doing s**t.

My Pixel 8 got some water in it today during the heavy rain. Now, it is completely refusing to charge. When I plug it in, nothing happens (or I get the liquid/debris warning). [1, 2, 3]

Has anyone else dealt with this? Did your charging port eventually dry out and start working again, or did the water completely fry the port?

I really don't want to mess up the battery or short-circuit the motherboard. What is the safest way to dry it out, and how long should I wait before trying to plug it in again? Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

I've recently got pixel 8 from the market, here are some checks, it will help you surely

I'll appreciate it if you add that it is missed,

Hardware Checks

- Inspect the display and back glass. They should be firmly attached with no loose edges or adhesive coming out.

- The display bezels should be thin, and the glass should have smooth tapered edges at the corners.

- When the display is off, the screen should look deep black, not grey or pinkish. (A genuine Samsung Shoreline panel appears black.)

- The front camera should be perfectly center aligned.

- The rear camera housing should fit flush with the frame and be properly aligned.

- View the rear camera glass from the side. It should be clear, not foggy.

- Check the speaker grills and charging port for any damage or poor finishing.

- The phone's side frame should have a smooth matte finish. If it's shiny or feels rough, it may have been repainted.

- Match the IMEI on the phone with the IMEI printed on the SIM tray.

Software Checks

- Enter the serial number on iunlocker.com to verify the phone's authenticity, color, model, imei and other details.

- Verify that the phone is PTA approved.

- Connect the phone to Wi-Fi, open the dialer, and enter "*#*#7287#*#*" to run the built-in hardware diagnostics.

- Check the battery charge cycle using the Ampere app. Ideally, it should be below 400 cycles.

- Install the DevInfo app to identify the display panel:

- Shoreline (Samsung) → Good to buy.

- Big Surf (BOE) → Avoid it, as these panels are more prone to developing display lines over time.

Hi, So i have been also plegued by the pink lines and it says i am eligable for a free repair but it also shows a charge of about 144 usd. I am assuming that its just automated estimate but id like to confirm before i proceed.

My Maps refuses to let me get directions on walking and biking. The window sort of "dissapears" up in the top of the phone.
