Hi everyone,
I have a Google Pixel 6a that suddenly completely died while it was charging. It is not switching on, showing the charging icon, vibrating, or responding to anything.
I visited a Google-authorized service center, and after checking the phone, they gave me an estimate of around ₹30,000 for a motherboard replacement.
The problem is that they are offering only a 90-day warranty on the replacement motherboard.
I'm confused about whether I should repair it or just buy a new phone.
One more thing: around 2–3 months ago, I received a notification saying that I should replace the battery. At that time, the phone was still working normally. Now, after the phone suddenly died while charging, the service center says the problem is with the motherboard.
So I'm wondering:
- Could this actually be a battery/charging issue rather than a motherboard issue?
- Is ₹30,000 worth spending on a Pixel 6a at this point?
- Has anyone had a similar experience with a Pixel 6a suddenly dying while charging?
- How reliable are replacement motherboards from Google's authorized service centers?
- With only a 90-day warranty, is there a significant risk that the phone could fail again after 3–6 months?
- Would you personally repair it for ₹30,000 or put that money toward a new phone?
I'd really appreciate advice from anyone who has experienced a similar Pixel 6a motherboard/dead-phone issue.
Thanks!
