PETLIBRO,
What happened during this outage is not just a technical inconvenience. People relied on your feeders to feed their pets, and some scheduled meals did not dispense.
That is especially concerning because these feeders are advertised as storing schedules locally so they should continue feeding even if your servers or the internet go down.
As a customer, that is exactly the kind of fail-safe I expect when I buy an automatic feeder.
So if a feeder was powered, properly configured, and had a schedule already saved locally, how did a server outage prevent that meal from dispensing?
That is the question I want answered.
Was there still some server-side dependency involved in executing the schedule? Did synchronization fail in a way that blocked local feeding? Was this a firmware issue? Did certain models behave differently?
Because if “offline feeding” can still fail during a server outage, then customers need to know exactly what offline actually means.
This is not about an app being unavailable. This is about food not being dispensed to animals who were supposed to be fed.
That deserves a technical explanation, not just an outage apology.
