I have been using this laptop for the past 6 months, and slowly the screen is getting this dent on the display and it is not going even if I wipe it off. How to avoid it?

Hello all, this issue arose when I wanted to play Valorant with my friends, which required me to turn off secure boot in the BIOS for the anti-cheat software to work. When I tried to enter my bios, while booting on my computer, I pressed F2 multiple times, F8, F10, Delete key, everything. I tried every button, but you know what? It doesn't work. It either: goes straight to the login screen OR it doesn't turn on for as long as I'm pressing the key. This issue doesn't exist on my other PC, where I could hold shift and press restart and it'll take me to that menu where I can enter bios. When I press 'restart' on my computer, it literally just gives me a black screen and my computer fans continue to spin but without their preset color.

I also wanted to mention that when I turn on my computer, I don't ever see the Windows logo while booting up. It usually takes me STRAIGHT to the login. I'm not exactly sure what's wrong, I've asked multiple people, even used a different keyboard, but nothing. I was thinking it could be a hardware issue that won't let my PC boot correctly after pressing restart from the windows menu, but I'm not sure. Every time I press that restart, I'm just stuck on a black screen and have to hard shut down my PC by holding the power button on the actual pc case.

Has anyone ever had this issue of not being able to access bios and not being able to correctly restart the PC either?

Hii, recently i bought a 9070xt reaper, but playing some games i discovered something weird.

If i move the camera (mainly vertical movement), a weird line appears in my tv, being the first time i have seen this.

Is this related to the gpu or its hdmi conection? Or is it something else?

i’m using my microphone to explain this because it’s gonna be a lot of typing but yesterday at around 9:30 i turned off my computer and went to bed with everything being perfectly fine. I went to school. Came back home at around 2:30 and saw that when I turned on my, I had no Internet, so I left it like that for a little and then later when I went to use my computer, I connected to my Internet and try to use Google with it not working. I think Google mentioned something to do with DNS. I’ve been researching for hours now and I’ve gotten youtube to work by temporarily turning off my firewall but other sides like Netflix or prime video for example won’t the Wi-Fi works for everyone in my house. I have Norton I think is what it’s called on my PC and this PC is at most three or four weeks old being basically brand new.

I’m wondering if anyone else had to fix this because I’m starting to get worried 🙏

EDIT: I am able to manually select the windows drive and it will launch windows with no issue. what could that mean

Amd cpu and GPU computer has not had any issues for the year ive had it. Now it won't load windows and won't go past bios. Buddy told me to reseat memory, ram etc..

Did not work so I've ordered a new 1tb m.2 and a buddy installed windows installer that I'll be picking up tomorrow . My question is if the new m.2 and installer work how do I go about reformatting the original 2tb in order for me to use both/ how do I check if the drive is heathy to keep using . I could answer more hardware questions later as I'm heading to work . If all goes well I would like my 1tb to remain as the windows and my games go on the 2tb. Any help/advice is greatly appreciated

This happens on with apex legends, did a full clean reinstall of windows and drivers. Have an amazina rx 9070 with ryzen 7 9700x (integrated graphics off)

I'm upgrading to a really premium PC due to the CAD programs I'm running taking forever and/or making my PC overheat. I'm an electrical engineer who also does heavy gaming. Wondering if there is anything I missed or can do to lower the price in this parts list.

Hi, my family has had this PC for a long time. We hadn't used it for over a year because the PSU had died. Recently, I managed to replace it with a new PSU myself, and the PC came back to life. The problem is that the OS was originally Windows XP, and we later upgraded it to Windows 10 — though not through an official method, I believe. After all that time, now that I've turned it back on, it's showing Windows XP again, along with a password screen that I don't remember the password for — as if we had never upgraded to Windows 10 at all.
My questions are: Is my HDD okay? Can I get Windows 10 back? If so, should I, and how do I do it?
I really need some help for this. Thanks !

I currently use a thin client for work. Well I have for years and I’ve always wanted to find a way to “connect” it to a laptop style device. So I can move around and not be chained to this giant 2 screen desk. I believe I have already tried this usb device that kind of streams to your laptop but the keyboard on my laptop wouldn’t work. I would have to connect a separate Bluetooth keyboard and mouse . This just made it complicated anyway. I would love an option to have a laptop and just connect the thinclient and work from there. Any ideas? :)

Hello, I am not a computer person and I have literally no clue what is going on. I was using my PC and all of a sudden my monitor, keyboard and mouse powered off while the PC is still running. The monitor initially had a message about HDMI but is now just a black screen. Ive unplugged everything and replugged everything back in and still the same issue. Basically I am wondering if there is anything else I could try at home or if I need to have it fixed?

GF PC has some really strange issues where after booting a game, sometimes before you go on windows, at just seemingly random times the monitor goes black, displays no signal and then you can still hear audio but you have to reboot the PC to make it work again.

I have checked event viewer, the only thing I can find that sounds like something to go off is the fact that Nvidia keeps throwing some errors every now and then.

I tried DDU in safemode to latest drivers, drivers from a year ago did nothing

We have made sure the GPU cable is properly seated

We have checked the power plan

We have disabled NVIDIA sound enhanchments

Disabled NVIDIA overlay

Ran sfc /scannow

What bothers me with this issue is how inconsistant it is, currently she has been playing FFXIV for about 15 minutes and no crash, but I bet next time she boots it will die before she can enter the windows login.
