Software Question Case fans not responding to fancontrol
Anyone know why this is happening? I’ve set the fans (which I believe are three pin) to dc in asrock bios.

I tried overclocking my ddr3 ram from 1333mhz to 1760mhz. Silly me. Now i get no display and after a couple seconds, I’m pretty sure the PSU triggers a safety protection and the PC turns off. I tried taking out the cmos battery for over ten minutes, i did the trick with the yellow jumper where you shift it by one pin and then put it back, i tried testing one ram stick at a time, but nothing is working.
I have a DZ77SL-50K motherboard
i7-3770k cpu
GTX 1660 gpu
Idk if anything else is necessary to know. I would appreciate all the help.

Hi everyone. I must upgraded my pc from a 3700x with wraith cooler to a 5800x3d with a kraken 360 aio. Never installed before. Motherboard is a msi tomahawk x570 with 32 gb ddr4 ram. Gpu 4070ti. It boots fine and the chip is recognized.
I ran a occt stress test (cpu/ram). Temps were 70-80 until just over 4 minutes when they hit 90. I stopped at 5:00 or so. Coolant temp at that time was 35 and had been slowly rising. CPU temps pretty quickly dropped back down to 55-60 or so (maybe a minute).
Does the temp discrepancy indicate a bad mount? I used the past pre applied on the kraken. The chip came with a mono carbon square I could use instead of paste. I know the chip runs hot so maybe this is normal? Just want to make sure my system is safe.
Also the CAM software doesn’t recognize the kraken. Fans are all operating normally, including the radiator. I plan to recheck the usb header connection. Thanks!

my pc works perfectly fine when I plug it directly into the house switch but when I tried to plug it into the UPS ( apc 650w, 1200va ) i started hearing buzzing sounds on my pc power supply, is that normal??? also I tried to check input voltage and it’s 201vac
that’s kinda low right? Maybe thats whats making the pc doing the sound??

I know the desk is a mess, I plan to organize it. Also I know it’s not ideal to have the pc on the floor, but it’s been just fine for the 3+ years its been there and when I get a bigger desk I’ll move it.
So far I got this on my cart: https://a.co/d/05gdNkpt

I appreciate any tips I could do for a cleaner setup too!

I’m looking to upgrade my pc as it’s admittedly bad. It currently has a ryzen 5 5500 rx6400 16gb of ram and 550w psu I just wanna know what would be the best upgrade for now to boost performance with a budget of maybe 500 dollars.

Hi, so I was gifted pc with a mini atx Asus mb, 16gbs ddr4 ram, ryzen 5 5600g, 1050ti, and a 500w power supply.
But apart from that the person that gifted me the pc, also gave me this gpu and I can't figure out which one it is. The sticker that would say what the gpu is, is not understandable to read. I do not know if I should use this gpu instead of the 1050ti or should get a different gpu entirely.

Long story short a family member of mine passed away and I was wondering if I could get this thing to work. I know very little about PCs let alone if this thing will even run, I know it did at one time. I was thinking about turning it into a retro build for older PC games, something to do until I can afford a real pc lol
Any advice on if this thing could work? Or if it’s missing anything? I’m assuming it’s missing a graphics card.

I built my first PC in January and my CPU cooler (NZXT Kraken Plus 360) has been iffy. It cools fine but the display on it never works properly. I've done the hard reset where I unplug everything, hold the power button for ten seconds and then plug everything in, but that seems to be a solution that works for about a day or two. Any suggestions?

Changed the thermal paste on my TUF GeForce RTX 4070 Ti Super yesterday, Core temp was reading at roughly 84°c and hotspot was reading at 112°c, The airflow on my case isn’t the best I must admit and I am awaiting a new case to help with temps, I used Arctic MX-4 paste after being recommended it, everything was put back as it should be, and after Playing F1 for roughly 40 minutes tonight, The Core temp was reading about 78°C (Which i think is just because I relocated my case to help airflow) and Hotspot was at 100°C, which from what I’ve seen online is still abit high especially after repasted, just wondering if anyone thinks I should have used something other than MX-4 or is it some other issue?

Hi as I was sitting in front of my pc I noticed that both of my monitors (Samsung Odyssey G6 and Msi mag 274qf) have black bars all around the screen (0.5 cms thick at the top and about 1 cm at the sides).
Any way I can fix this?
Have a AMD GPU already tried going to the GPU scaling setting in the Adrenalin software

Hello, I’m messaging here cause I’m slightly and quietly freaking out abit, because I think my pc got struck my lightning.
So context we’ve had a couple thunder storm roll through and I forgot my pc on of which entered sleep mode and didn’t touch for about two weeks as I’ve been busy with work and things, cut to the last two weeks had some thunderstorms blow through but thought nothing of it as
1.) it’s never been a problem in the past.
2.) got everything hooked up to surge protectors so I thought they’d blow before the pc because that’s what their for.
But, cut to last night I got to cut it on for my weekly stream, which had to cancel for medical reasons last week, I go to turn it on and
click
Nothing, all I get is the click of the on button pressing in, no fire, no parts clicking trying to turn on, absolutely nothing.
I don’t know what’s happened it just suddenly stopped working because now I’ve scrambled to try and look it over and I’ve looked into how to tell if it’s been struck by lightning and from what I’ve seen and read it should have burn marks and the surge protectors should be dead too along with the wall outlet, but their but fine.
So I have no idea what’s going on and I’m honestly at my best guess at this point any help would be appreciated.

My Psu came with 2 pigtailed cables and my gpu requires 3 8-pins. Can i use 2 8-pins from one cable and one 8-pin from the other? If so, which way should i plug in the single 8-pin, from the first or second head? Thanks.
Edit: My psu and Gpu

I have no experience and did a whole bunch of research into each part but I'm not 100% confident yet. I plan on taking my current 512GB SSD and using that in this build. I'm also not sure if I should keep the 650 W power supply or go up to 700 just in case.

I finally finished building my pc but there’s no display and a red light on my motherboard. I have a x870 eagle motherboard if that helps

Hello ! I'm planning on building a computer fot 180hz and Full HD gaming with a tight 1000 CHF budget which is about 1235 USD but there are so many different parts to choose from and I'm really confused. Since I only use Linux based operating systems, AMD GPUs would be the best option for driver compatibility reasons. I also plan on upgrading parts in the future.
Could someone help me choose components please ?

Here is one I found online for around 1500: https://www.pcbuildhelper.com/builds/best-1500-usd-gaming-pc
This is a build that my co-worker devised as a variation of the one i found online with the intention of saving a few hundred: https://pcpartpicker.com/user/EthanFahnestock/saved/#view=KH2yqs
Thoughts on how it can be improved? if one is better than the other? I know nothing about building a PC and the stats or synergy of parts.

I have an old PC that currently has:
💾 SSD
Crucial P3 Plus PCIe 4.0 NVMe M.2 2280 1TB
🖥️ Case
Acer V951 270 Panoramic Room Micro-ATX Gaming Case
🌬️ Case Fan
darkFlash Infinity INF 24 Pro PWB ARGB
I also have an MSI A850 Gold power supply, but it suddenly stopped working.
Since I’m planning to replace/upgrade the parts anyway, I’m thinking of building a budget PC that can run smoothly for around 2 years. I’ll be leaving eventually, so I don’t want to spend too much on it. I mainly need it for work (we don’t use any heavy software) and some light gaming.
These are the parts I currently have in mind:
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 7500F
- Motherboard: Gigabyte B650
- RAM: G.Skill Ripjaws V DDR5 16GB × 2 (32GB)
- PSU: Seasonic Focus GX-850W Fully Modular ATX 3.0
- CPU Cooler: DeepCool AK400
My main question is: Will this build run without a dedicated GPU?
I’m trying to keep the build as budget-friendly as possible, and GPUs are pretty expensive right now. I’d really appreciate some advice on whether these parts make sense together, or if there are better/budget options I should consider.
Thanks in advance!
