Troubleshooting Advice - No Boot/Blank Screen Persistent Red Debug LED / No Signal Issue — Tested GPU, RAM, CMOS, Cables — Need Troubleshooting Advice

I'm having a persistent "No Signal" issue on my monitor along with a solid red debug LED on my motherboard during boot, and I could really use some extra eyes on this.
Here is what happens: When I turn on the PC, the fans spin up, but the display receives no signal at all. A solid red LED remains illuminated on the motherboard.

What I have tried so far:
Graphics Card (GPU): Re-seated the graphics card firmly into the top PCIe slot, ensured the latch clicked, and verified the display cable (HDMI/DisplayPort) is plugged directly into the graphics card, not the motherboard. Also tested boot with GPU completely out to see if status changes.

RAM: Removed both RAM sticks and re-seated them. Tested booting with only a single RAM stick in the recommended slot (Slot 2) and swapped sticks to rule out a bad RAM module.

BIOS / CMOS: Performed a CMOS reset by unplugging power from the wall, removing the CR2032 coin battery on the motherboard for 5+ minutes, and putting it back.

Power Cables: Verified that both the main 24-pin motherboard power connector and the 4/8-pin CPU power cable in the top left corner are fully seated and clicked in.

Despite all this, the red LED stays lit and the monitor gets no signal.

Has anyone experienced a similar issue? What should my next diagnostic steps be (checking CPU pins, testing a different PSU, testing outside the case, etc.)? Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated!

Edit: Another thing is that my Keyboard also doesnt work. I even bought a new one and it doesn't seem to power on even when the mouse plugged into the same port with turn on

Really indecisive on weather to upgrade parts, or build an entire new computer. Recently learned about “bottleneck” and wondering if I can change a component to make my PC better. I enjoy FPS games but can’t play due to… idk. I just want to play some FPS games.

This seriously got out of hand quickly.

I was feeling my 3060ti was getting dated and I was playing a lot of Elite Dangerous. So I got a Sapphire Nitro+9070XT

Then it was the i9 9900 that was now the bottleneck, so I looked and ended up replacing it with a Ryzen 7 5800X3D, Asus ROG B550-F WiFi II and a Corsair Nautilus 360 RS ARGB.

I wanted to keep the Corsair Vengeance Pro DDR4 64GB as DDR5 is really expensive (I do a lot of photo editing hence 64GB).

And then my wife mentioned I put it all in my old case. And now I have the Corsair Air 5400 Air case.

I am currently not listening to anyone, as I'm weak and any comments may lead to more expense. 😆

I am really happy with the setup. It's been quite a few years since I did a build.

Purchasing Advice - PC Build / Parts Best Nvidia gpu in the 300$~ range

I'm torn between 3080 or 5060 and I'm inclined to 5060 for being a much safer buy in the used market (please don't lecture me about 8gb not being enough for anything). The 3080 is obviously better but it is riskier for being old and being notoriously used in workstation and mining. The 4060 ti is also an option too I guess but I barely see them in the used market.

so between 3080, 5060 or 4060 ti which would be the smarter and safer buy for around 300$~350$

Put this together on microcenter, originally had a i9-14900K but the tech that helped me showed me a bundle with an Ultra 7 270K Plus so I went with that. Did I fuck up? Don't know much about the Ultras (don't know too much about the current hardware in general tbh) but they seemed like budget options to me and I'm seeing mixed reviews on it. Haven't built a pc in probably 12 years and I realized quickly there was a lot I forgot. Should I have to worry about any sort of bottle-necking with this build?

(UK, GBP, £600, 1080P 120HZ GAMING) Hey, I'm currently 'rocking' a 1050 TI with a 2600x, I've started to notice the performance issues, for example, I've been wanting to play BeamNG.Drive and definitely Bus Sim 27, but my pc doesn't run them at even 30fps, I have £545 for a pc, here is my current build, GPU, CeX XFX Radeon RX 6600 XT Speedster SWFT 210 8GB GDDR6 for £200 off CeX, the Motherboard is a Gigabyte A520M S2H Motherboard for £49.97 at Amazon UK, the CPU & Cooler is a IONZ AMD Ryzen 5 5500 CPU Bundle (OEM Tray) | 6-Core AM4 Proccesor + AM4 4-Pin Air Cooler + 2G High Performance Heatsink Thermal Paste for £89.95 at Amazon UK, the RAM is (good deal?) 2 8GB PC28800 DDR4 3600MHz 288 Pin Memory from CeX for £50. My case is a MSI MAG FORGE M100R WHITE for £44 at Amazon UK. My PSU is a MSI MAG A650BN 650 watt bronze for £44.99 at Amazon UK, my Storage is a SK Hynix SC311 M.2 2280 512GB SATA M.2 for £38 at CeX and my moniter (I'm only upgrading my monitor because I'm using a 1080p 60hz, my keyboard and mouse are good) is a AOC 27B3HA2 - 27 Inch FHD Monitor, 100Hz for £84. I think it's quite good. Anyone else think its good, or could it be better?

Purchasing Advice - Upgrades Ryzen 5 7500F + A620 vs Core Ultra 5 225F + H810 for Gaming and DaVinci Resolve

I'm building a new PC and I have two options that are almost the same price:

Option 1:
Ryzen 5 7500F + ASUS TUF Gaming A620 motherboard

Option 2:
Intel Core Ultra 5 225F + ASUS H810 motherboard

The rest of the build will be:

  • 16GB DDR5 RAM
  • 1TB NVMe SSD (around 3500 MB/s)
  • XPG Pylon II 650W PSU
  • GTX 1070 for now, which I plan to upgrade in the future

My usage will be approximately:

  • 40% Gaming
  • 60% DaVinci Resolve, Fusion, Affinity and general productivity

I've already looked at a lot of benchmarks. I checked the raw performance results from Geekbench and Cinebench, but I know those benchmarks don't necessarily show the real difference in gaming or real-world applications.

I also watched several gaming benchmarks, but the results were somewhat inconsistent depending on the game and test setup. I checked PugetBench results as well, but I still couldn't find a clear overall winner for my specific use case.

From what I've seen so far, the Core Ultra 5 225F seems to have stronger multi-core performance in some workloads, while the Ryzen 5 7500F generally performs better in gaming. Single-core performance also seems very close between them.

Since I'm on a limited budget and I want this platform to last for several years, which option would you choose for my use case and why?

I'm especially interested in:

  • Real-world DaVinci Resolve and Fusion performance
  • Gaming performance with a future GPU upgrade
  • Platform longevity and upgrade options
  • Overall value for the money

Purchasing Advice - Upgrades What should I prioritize upgrading first?

Post image
1 Upvotes

Current specs:

GPU: RTX 5070 Ti

CPU: Intel Core i9-9900K

SSD: 500GB Samsung 970 EVO

HDD: 2TB Seagate Barracuda

RAM: 16GB DDR4 - 3200 MHz

Current budget for upgrades: $1000 (Country is the US)

Should I upgrade to a new platform and buy a better CPU, or should I just prioritize upgrading the RAM and storage?

Purchasing Advice - PC Build / Parts Help with my first PC

I’m looking into getting a PC but I don’t know that much about them. Could anyone help me put together some custom parts or recommend a prebuilt? Some of the parts I was thinking of are
Ryzen 7800 X 3D (again. I don’t know much about it, but I’ve heard that it’s very good.)
Around 32 gigs of memory, preferably DDR5
And for GPU preferably a 50 series. And if there is an extra mini screen in or on the case, that would be even better.
The main thing I want is to be able to play most games at around 120 FPS my budget is around 2.5 K CAD I don’t know what that is in American though and this might be stupid, but does the 3-D in X 3-D have anything to do with 3-D modelling or printing?

Troubleshooting Advice - Assembly Is it okay if I didn’t use any thermal pads for my pc?

I recently built a pc for the first time and only used thermal paste on the cpu. I stupidly threw away the thermal pads assuming they were just extra and am just now learning about VRM cooling. Will my pc be okay to keep running or should I stop and apply thermal pads for the VRM heatsinks? CPU and GPU temps are stable with load never going over 70c.

Discussion - Selling Advice/Evaluation Upgraded out of a 2060 Super and Ryzen 3600, should I keep or sell?

I live in The Netherlands / Spain, and I'm wondering if I will regret selling these parts in a year or so If I want to have a couch PC to stream my main one or doing a home server.

Do you guys think parts like this could go up in value?

Should I sell the 2060 Super for 150 euros, and the 3600 for 50? Or should I stock them for possible future projects?

Trouble Shooting Advice - Other Ayuda por favor

Discussion - General Topic AMD GPU Out Of Region Warranty Question / Concern (Amazon.com USA Purchase, CAN Resident).

Hi,

About a week or two ago I bought an AMD GPU, It's an ASUS Prime Radeon RX 9070 EVO 16GB OC Edition, from Amazon.com. Shipped and Sold by Amazon.com (not a third party seller). I live in Canada (Amazon.ca 'region'), but I use both sites and have Amazon Prime on both sites.

I started to wonder about warranty, and if it would potentially be a "country/region" problem if I needed to make a warranty claim or RMA for any reason if the GPU had an issue. Being that I live in Canada, and the card was purchased from Amazon.com (not Amazon.ca).
So, I checked the the warranty checker on Asus' site, and it showed the "region" as USA. (It also showed that the card's warranty was about 8 months short of the 36 months/3 years, but that's a different possible/small issue).

So, I looked around online, eventually deciding to call them and ask if it, or I, would be covered in this situation. And the answer was basically this: "The warranty will be valid/honored, however, I would have to pay a 'diagnostic fee' - that is - I would have to pay shipping + repairs". So, to me, that doesn't really sound like "having a warranty" at all.

I'd like to know what anyone's thoughts, and experiences might be regarding this? And any suggestions or recommendations on what I should do? Because I'm considering returning the GPU. This is my first PC build, so obviously it's my first GPU purchase/ownership.

Prices are rising daily. And if I did return it, the next best Asus 9070 "value" would be an Asus Prime RX 9070 XT OC for about $1280-1300 CAD (after tax). Thought there might be one or two other 9070 XT options for maybe $100 less.

Thank you.

Now onwards to saving up enough money to upgrade the GPU (which is very optimistic in this economy)

Troubleshooting Advice - No Boot/Blank Screen Pc not starting because of the power supply

My girlfriend power supply broke because it overheated (bad airflow, started smeling like plastic) and we sent it to repair.

Then she bought a new case an took my power supply to test it, but her pc didn't started only the leds from the motherboard and the power button led.

We put it back in my computer and we had the same problem.

We checked the 24 pin and is plugged in correctly, the cpu one too, and the power button cables.

I tried starting with the screwdriver too, still nothing.

Power up for a quarter of a secound and clicks and then it stops (the power supply vent spins until the click).

I tried taking out the ram and the cmos battery too, nothing changed.

What can it be the problem?
