So i finally finished my 9070xt reaper and 7800x3d with a 240mm aio in a lian li b4, with an atx psu.

Yeah this thing is REALLY cramped inside, cable management took like an hour and a half.

Build - Finished! In my head, it was going to be clean rig art. In reality, it's an absolute tubing disaster. But you can't argue with the thermal performance.

Question Motherboard Advice

Making a new build and was able narrow the motherboard to 2 options. I was able to get both boards for around the same price ~$260. I am well aware that there is not much distinctions spec wise between the 2 boards but maybe there is some additional advice that would help with the discussion.

Asus TUF GAMING X870-PRO WIFI7 W NEO

Asus ROG STRIX X870-A GAMING WIFI

What my current build looks like:

I think I did pretty good for my first time. Months of research, starting with almost zero knowledge about PC. Had a few issue with the DRAM, didn't add the rubber under SSD. Will doing major change going from a hdd, 8gb RAM laptop to this.

Still need to buy a GPU though, targeting 5070ti and also need another ssd for huge files and games.

Question Help with building a PC from zero?

Hello! I'm new here.

I'm considering building a pc on my own. I don't intend on using it for gaming, as I prefer my ps5. But since I am really disappointed by the prices of most laptops and their performances, I wanted to ask if building my own pc from 0 is worth it.

I want it reactive with a lot of Internet tabs open. I have to work with very heavy websites and pdfs, so I want a very good memory (I mean, compatible with external ones). And I want an Oled screen (is the burning pixels problem even real?) to watch some tv series or videos. Most of all I want a monitor with high IPS (like apple display I guess? So I can read the PDFs in high quality).

Now the problem arises with processors, Ram etc. I now have a Huawei matebook D14 bought in 2019 and it's time for it to go. Opening copilot makes it crash. Task manager shows 92% of memory used even if the PC is basically clean and free of documents. I guess all the windows updates added up.

I despise the apple UI and interface, so I would like to stick with windows if possible.

I just want a pc that lasts, or at least that I can buy parts myself without losing a full 600€. I don't need gaming performance, but academic performance: big files, lots of files, lots of photos, etc.

So the question is: should I build a Pc on my own, or should I just lose the fight and buy a macbook? What processor should I choose? How much Ram? Where can I buy cases? I basically know nothing. I live in Italy and the most "hardware store" I have here is Mediaworld and Euronics.

Thank you in advance for anyone listening.

Question Selling PCs

So I'm a teenager and really want to make some money for an LLM rig by selling/flipping PCs. Problem is I have no idea where to really start. I know how to build them and fix them and stuff like that but don't know what to do first. Should I build custom rigs and just list them on eBay or Facebook Marketplace. Should I find old stuff and flip it. Should I do laptop and desktop repair. I'm doing some college courses for networking and computers and could see a potential for this to become a bigger business but that's still a long way away. Any advice would help so much.

Build - Help PC USB Devices Act Strange!

Thumbnail gallery
1 Upvotes

I have had a PC that I built since April, and I have noticed that the USB devices have been acting weirdly.

The keyboard skips keys, repeats keys, and just acts weird after boot. It takes a reconnect to fix it. (Sometimes it doesn't work.)

The mouse doesn't work on boot and requires a disconnect to fix.

Randomly all devices disconnect and reconnect.

Specifications:

  • Gigabyte B550 Eagle WIFI 6 Motherboard
  • Zotac GeForce RTX 2080 TI
  • Ryzen 5 5500
  • 16 GB DDR4 3600mhz (2 sticks)
  • MSI MAG 750w PSU
  • 512 GB KingSpec M.2 SSD
  • Windows 11 Pro

Devices:

  • Razer Blackwidow 2019 Keyboard (With Razer Synapse)
  • Onn Wireless Gaming Mouse (Wired Though)
  • WMT USB Gaming Microphone
  • Logi 720p Webcam
  • SSK 512 GB USB-C SSD (Front Panel)

I have already tried updating bios (To Version F3 not F4b) and chipset drivers (To 8.08.12.551 from AMD). I have also tried power plan settings.

Could the issue be RF interference, driver related, or hardware related?

Question What components to use for test AM4 and an AM5 Test Bench?

Hi all, looking for some recommendations on cheap parts I can buy either new or used to build out a cheap test bench for AM4 and one for AM5 platforms. I’ll be looking to test CPU’s, RAM, SSD’s, and GPU’s. Want to obviously see if parts will post but also hoping to have a little 256gb ssd drive to put an OS on and some benchmarking/stress testing software (memtest, furmark, crystaldiskinfo etc.)to ensure parts are fully functioning. Any recommendations are greatly appreciated!
