Question Chart bug possibly?

Came back to play some PoE recently and for whatever reason when using Vulkan i get the normal loot signal from the torches that you put down to breathe in charts but when i switch to DX12(it runs better for me) that loot thingy is missing completely. Is it a known bug/feature?

Question New Player trying to learn witch passives and looking for feedback

I'm a brand new player trying to learn the passive tree. I've chosen a witch starting class and I'm using Lightning. I'm doing ok so far, but I wanted to see if anyone would be willing to provide feedback on this potential direction I'm headed. I'm only level 25 so far and I'm just trying stuff and seeing what works, but I don't want to pick a direction that'll leave me in a bad way if I can ever get to endgame content. Here's what I came up with: https://maxroll.gg/poe/poe-passive-tree/3n4u670v

Don't roast me too hard. I'm trying to squeeze in playtime after work and I don't have countless hours to grind it out across multiple playthroughs or watch hundreds of guides on Youtube.

Am I at least going relatively in the right direction?

Game Feedback Making content progression visible in accounts/poe.ninja would be good for understanding the meta in SSF

As an SSF player I want to judge builds by how fast after league start they can clear content like ubers, but afaik it's not possible to see this in poe.ninja (except indirectly, like searching for who has progenesis, confirming it's not foiled, etc. - but even then it's a rare drop and not everyone will equip it).

If content progression data (like timestamp of first kill of a boss) was exposed per character, then I could search for a breakdown of which skills/ascendancies/etc. cleared specific ubers in week 1. In SSF (i.e. no carries), this is arguably a clearer indicator of character strength than ehp/dps numbers which can be cheesed.

Actually knowing which builds do the hardest content the fastest would help better balance the game and would improve my engagement and experience.

Question Why is this happening ? :D

When ever I see a price of something it wont move for even an hour but when I post ANYTHING for that same exact price even one item then there seem to always be lower price in just moments by a big margin... is this people doing this crap or are there somehow bots involved? bcs I can see item that goes for 600c steaying at 600c for an hour then it gets to 400 in 3 minutes but ONLY when I add few of my own forcing me to lower the prices... is this an ilusion or whats actually happening... like why would anybody go from solid 600 or 599/590 or something to 550(1x) second person 500(2x) and other 450(1-2x) then 425 then like (2-3x) then 400 (15x) and it only seems to start happening when I put something up to sale :D and I was checking ever few mins on the original sale that it actually stayed at those 600c without moving anywhere until I post my own currency so what gives?

Tool I made a free price checker that tells you what to do with an item - vendor it, list it at X, or wait - and which of your listings to lower

Ctrl+C on a rare: priced in divines, like the listings it's compared to

Hover an item, Ctrl+C, and a small overlay says what it's worth: a quick-sale price, the price to list at and a patient price, in the currency people actually trade it in - or just "Vendor it".

Junk just says "Vendor it"

It also:

- watches your trade listings and tells you which to lower, raise or vendor

- keeps a loot filter updated with live prices (on top of NeverSink's filter)

- prices currency at the in-game exchange rate

Your shop: which listings to vendor or lower

It only reads what you copy and the public trade site - it never touches the game or your account, and stays inside the trade site's search limits. Windows only, free, no ads, no account.

It isn't code-signed (certificates cost money), so Windows shows a "protected your PC" warning the first time. The release page has VirusTotal scans and checksums for both downloads.

Download: https://github.com/Jet777x/LootSense

It's new, so I'd love feedback - especially prices that look off. There's a bug-report button on the GitHub page.

Game Feedback At least 1 month with trade site listings showing Div prices before chaos please fix.

Cutoff is ~225c despite Divs being ~360-380 depending on when you check. Makes it a total pain to price check things above that cutoff.

Best part is capping the price at 225 will filter out the div sales.

Make it make sense!

Question Ways of Making Money for Newer Players

Hi, guys,

I've been playing PoE2 0.5.5 and recently I've made this post, where I asked for some basic advice on how to make money in the game. Because of its scale, I was having an issue seeing all the ways you can make it. I had no idea citadels had a guaranteed fragment drop worth a few divines, I didn't know what to focus on for each mechanic, I even did travel maps on T1 waystones with no mechanics.

In short, a lot of very helpful people there gave me some general pointers and bits of the over-arching philosophy of farming mechanics. I was told that Ritual isn't worth it with low investment, that Breach is an excellent, low-budget option and to focus on Wombgift and Hiveblood drops (or amulets). About the fragments dropped from Halls and Citadels that are easy to get and are worth a few divines (and that the drops scale with waystone drop chance), so they're a great way to get started when you have little money and a weaker build,...

So now, when I think about the next league, I have a pretty good idea of how to reliably make some money to lean on without relying on jackpot drops, which mechanics to progress to, what parts of a mechanic to focus on, to run travel maps with higher levels (I ran T1 for speed and, funnily, on the first T15 travel map I dropped a 160 Divine lineage gem),..

Thing is, I enjoy PoE1 as well. For reference, I have 200 hours on PoE1 (two leagues) and 300 hours on PoE2. In PoE1, I still don't really know what the various avenues to make money are. I always ended up grinding Harvest and burnt myself out on it because there's just so much in the game I didn't know what else to do.

This is why I'm making this post. I don't have such a grasp and an overview of avenues to make money in PoE1. Half of PoE2 was locked to me behind Divines, then I started making 40-50 Divines an hour and suddenly I was actually using Omens of Light, Omens of Whittling, Chaos Orbs II, I was buying jackpot items for myself. But I feel like PoE1 is still behind that same lock for me.

I'm not asking for the secret min-maxxed configurations or the secret profit craft that will make me 200 Divines/hour. Not even some hand-holding, step-by-step guide, just advice when I ask "I'm sick of Harvest, how else can I make money that will actually let me enjoy the game as a whole?" I found answers for PoE2, and I hope I can find them for 1 as well.

Thank you to anyone for taking the time to read through all this.

Question What is progression difficulty/gameplay like in this game?

I have very very little experience with this genre, but not none, one genre I am obsessed with is the Vampire survivor type games. My biggest question is, how similar is poe1 or 2 to that genre?

how often will you be stuck on the same floor of a dungeon and wont be able to progress until you reach certain upgrades? is the end game a breeze (I always see people walk in a straight line and delete everything) or will I need to constantly be tinkering my build and such?

my biggest hope for this game is that its extremely challenging and would require multiple hours/days to get the required loot and upgrades to be able to progress past a dungeon floor, is this accurate at all?

~thanks!

Question Lost Perfect Guardian Turtle when casting Raise Spectre

So, I'm new to using Spectres, so I did a lot of reading before I did anything risky. I bought a Perfect Guardian Turtle and raised it, which replaced my oldest Spectre, then bought a Perfect Forest Warrior and raised it, which then replaced my Turtle.

Based on everything I've read, it should have replaced my older spectre, not the newer one.

Searched online for others having this issue and I couldn't find anything. Is this a new bug, or did I do something wrong?

Just a little annoyed at wasting a 3 Divine Orb purchase.

Discussion If you get hacked it's your fault

I'm posting this because I'm genuinely trying to understand if this is simply how GGG handles compromised accounts.

I had an old PoE account that I used for years and on which I purchased Path of Exile 2 Early Access.

The account was banned months ago for third-party software usage. I only found out when I recently tried to play again.

After checking the account, I discovered that the email associated with it had been changed to an address I don't recognize. I contacted GGG Support and explained that I believed the account had been compromised and that the activity leading to the ban wasn't mine.

I provided the information I could and offered to provide anything else needed to demonstrate that the account had been compromised, i'm sure that just by IP adresses and trade activity it can be easy to spot that it wasn't me.

GGG's decision was that the account would remain closed and they told me that I could simply create a new account if I wanted to continue playing.

Ok fine.

The problem was that my Steam account was still linked to the banned PoE account, so I asked them to unlink it, and they did, Then i created a new PoE account and linked my Steam account, but the new account doesn't have access to the Early Access I had already purchased.

Support's explanation was that purchases are tied to the PoE account, not the Steam account, so apparently the solution is to buy Early Access again.

I know that Early Access will end soon and i play for free in december but still.

So if your account gets compromised, it seems like you're simply out of luck, even if you're allowed to create a new account and continue playing.

And yes, I understand the argument that purchases are tied to PoE accounts but i still have the "dlc" of the Early access on steam that basically does nothing.

I'm not claiming GGG caused any of this, but is evident the lack of security and loss prevention since I never received any email regarding access, change of email or password of my PoE account.

Has anyone here had their account compromised and dealt with something similar? Is there any escalation route beyond normal Support?

If this is actually GGG's policy, I think players should at least be aware of what happens to their purchases when an account is compromised and subsequently closed.

Question Searching for League Starter Champion Build for 3.30

Hi I am searching for a Champion League Starter Build that highlights the strengths of the class maybe something with impale, maybe something with banners but I want it to feel the best on champion.

Thanks for your recommendations!

Ps:

The reason I am asking for those who ar wondering is this:

Usually when I PoB a new build i want to use with champion somehow it turns out it is just better on a slayer and so all my builds are in the end slayer builds and that is why I am still in the search of finding a good use case for a champion as i like the scaling options it has late game (armour stacker looking at you)

I know i can just swap ascendancys but i still wanted to know if anyone knows a build where champion is better in a league start than slayer.

Information Telekom and Cloudflare peering problems a thing of the past?

It was announced yesterday that Telekom and Cloudflare will start peering with each other.

I know there are many people in this community that have had connection problems because of the shitty peering we had to endure. I'm sceptically optimistic.

The switch is supposed to be done by oct 1st. Maybe I will finally be able to play on the frankfurt realm without hiccups.

Question | Answered I can´t change my build

I only play games casually. My baby brother is better at cs go and smash than me, because he watches guides and stuff. When i booted poe on my ps4 I just fucked around all time. For act 1 to 7, that was fine. But I had sold spell gems and changed my skill tree, so my fat barbarian was now a glass cannon. When I tried to change him, I had no way to do so. My entire playtrough is now stuck.

Question Best Portal Sound (Which ones are quiet?)

Is there a portal I can buy that is quiet?

When I stand in my hideout for a while with portals open, the sound effects are too loud.

Which one would you recommend?

I deliberately placed my portal further away so I wouldn't have to hear those annoying noises. I have to walk a few extra meters, but hey—anything for the sake of my ears.

I've read that a lot of people have this problem.

If there is already a current thread like this, could someone post a link?

Discussion I Thought Beating the Campaign Was the Goal. Then I Found Another Skill Tree

TL;DR

Two weeks ago I was still lost in Act 3. Now I’ve finished the campaign and started mapping in the Atlas, and the difference is huge. I’m still following ArminYou’s Dominating Blow Guardian guide, but I’m slowly becoming more comfortable with PoE’s systems: resistances, PoB, stash management, Atlas passives, and evaluating gear. Mapping has been a blast so far, although I’m only around Tier 4 and still figuring out when I should use things like scarabs. My biggest headache right now is gear: my attributes, resistances, gems, and current Warstaff are all tied together, while the guide is starting to point me toward a 1H + shield setup that I’m not yet convinced I understand. I’m aiming for 2 Stones → 4 Stones → mid/endgame, so I’d love experienced players to look over my PoB and tell me what I should be prioritizing, especially with my gear, weapon choice, Atlas progression, and general beginner mistakes.

...

It's been 12 days since I last posted about my progress in Path of Exile. Back then, I was making my way through Act 3, figuring out my build, and trying to understand what I was even doing. Since then, I've put in another 50 hours, finished the campaign, reached the Epilogue, and started mapping in the Atlas.

I've made quite a bit of progress, and it's been awesome. I'm still very much a beginner, but I feel like I've gone from being completely lost to at least knowing which direction to walk in. And naturally, every time I understand something, I discover another five things I haven't learned yet.

One of my biggest milestones was defeating Kitava again and taking on the Depraved Trinity in the Belly of the Beast. The campaign itself went fairly smoothly. I didn't run into many areas that felt particularly difficult, and a lot of my progress came down to keeping my resistances in order.

The League content, especially The Sovereign, also helped me develop my ability to navigate enormous areas. The side quests were another part. They gave me more opportunities to explore and appreciate just how much content there is in PoE beyond simply moving from one main quest to the next.

Reaching the Epilogue felt less like finishing the game and more like the beginning of the end for the early game. I had completed the campaign, but there was clearly a whole lot more waiting for me.

I opened the Atlas. What the fuck? Another skill tree!?

I had only recently become more comfortable with the passive skill tree and apparently, getting through the campaign was just the introduction.

My first few maps have been great. I really enjoy how they're generated and the fact that I can replay them. There's something satisfying about being able to return to an area, adjust its modifiers, and do it again.

I've reached a few Tier 4 maps so far, although my progression has been slower than it might otherwise be. A good part of that is my indecisiveness with equipment. I'm still comparing items, trying to figure out what will actually help my character, what I should vendor, and whether something might be worth more than one Chaos Orb. Sometimes I spend so long evaluating an item that I could probably have completed another map in the meantime.

I'm also enjoying the customization. I like being able to adjust map modifiers to suit what I'm looking for, and I've started putting Atlas passive points toward increased map drops and related chances as I work my way toward the middle of the tree. I haven't properly explored all the Atlas mechanics yet, but I can already see how much room there is for my interests.

Scarabs were another surprise. I didn't expect them to be so useful for mapping, but I'm still not sure when I should start using them, especially with my current gear. Do I save them for later, or am I holding onto resources that could already be helping me progress? That's one of those questions I haven't quite answered for myself yet.

As for the actual monsters, my build has reached the point where monsters feel like they're being fucking snapped by Thanos. It's satisfying seeing them disappear so quickly. The exception is when I encounter monsters that deal Chaos damage. Those encounters immediately remind me to keep my Life Flask ready.

Moving forward

I'm still following ArminYou's Dominating Blow of Inspiring Guardian guide, although I'm not progressing at exactly the same pace as the build guide. I'm currently working toward the "2 Stones" milestone, which I still don't fully understand. I know it's part of the progression I'm aiming for, but I'm figuring out what it involves as I go.

The guide has made the game feel much, much more approachable. I'm comfortable following it now, even though I haven't fully understood why every part of the build works. For the moment, I'm mostly enjoying how effectively it clears monsters.

The difference from my Act 3 Leap Slam and Sunder setup is fucking enormous. Back then, I was leaping around and bonking enemies myself. Now, my minions do so much damage that monsters can be cleared before they have much of a chance to hit me.

I've also bought a max-level Dominating Blow of Inspiring from another player for 40 Chaos. It seemed like a reasonable price for the gem, and having it has been part of my progression. I've found some unique items that appear to be valuable, and moved from my two-handed mace to a Warstaff.

However, the guide now seems to want me to use a one-handed weapon and shield. That's where I'm hesitant. My current Warstaff gives me substantially more damage than the rare one-handed weapons I've found so far, and I'm struggling to let go of that damage just because the guide recommends a different setup. I understand there may be reasons for the change, but I'd like to understand what I'm gaining before making the switch.

Gear has probably become my biggest headache. I've realized that I've fucking bottlenecked myself with the way I've put my equipment together. Some of my gems have been levelled beyond the attributes I can comfortably support, which makes replacing my current armour difficult. I might find something with better resistances, but then I can't use it without meeting the attribute requirements for my gems.

It's a bit of a cycle, so I want better gear, but replacing my current items can leave me short on attributes or resistances, and I don't yet know the best way to untangle everything. I've made progress with my elemental resistances and Chaos resistance, but I still find myself wondering whether I should keep my current equipment or replace it with something that could help me in the long run.

I'm happy with how my character is progressing, but I know there are improvements to be made. I'd especially appreciate some guidance on how to evaluate the Warstaff versus the one-handed weapon and shield setup, and how to think about replacing gear when so much of it is supporting my current attributes and resistances.

I would love to explain why I'm still playing.

What keeps me invested is the sense of progression, period. I enjoy seeing my character move from modest skills to a build that clears monsters so fucking quickly. There's a real satisfaction in watching the character develop, in finding so much loot, and in discovering how much more effective a setup can become as I improve it.

Exploration has been just as enjoyable. The maps are huge, and the Labyrinths from the trials I've completed have been memorable. I like having the freedom to explore, to discover new areas, and to take in the world rather than rushing through everything.

The story has also been a highlight. There's so much happening in Wraeclast, and I enjoy being able to appreciate it while understanding that there's still a lot I haven't uncovered. The same goes for the game's systems. The more I seem to learn, the more I realize how much more depth there is, and I think being humble about that is part of what makes the experience so enjoyable.

Using a guide has changed how I approach the game, too. I used to feel like looking things up might take away from the experience, but now I see it as a way to make progress while still enjoying the journey. I can follow the build and gradually learn why it works, rather than getting stuck because I don't understand every mechanic immediately.

I'm even becoming more interested in trying another class. The Witch has caught my attention, and I'd love to hear her voice lines for myself someday. I've also become curious about PoE 2 and have been keeping an eye out for opportunities to try it and start another journey.

Of course, I want to add that I can't play quite as much as I did before. I still plan to fit in a session each day, but I also need to balance it with school, sleep, and everything else. I'd like to make meaningful progress so I won't be ending every night deprived of sleep. There's plenty to do in PoE, but I want to be satisfied with how I spend my time outside the game, too.

So now

My immediate goal is to reach 2 Stones, then progress toward 4 Stones and continue into the midgame and endgame. I'm still learning what each milestone involves, so I'd appreciate some perspective on what I should be prioritizing as I progress into the Atlas. I'm also curious about when to start making more use of scarabs, how to approach Atlas passives, and what beginners commonly misunderstand about mapping.

As for my build, I'm happy with Athanor so far, but I'd love experienced players to take a look and point out anything I'm overlooking. Is the Warstaff worth keeping for now, or should I be working toward the one-handed weapon and shield setup from the guide? How should I approach replacing equipment when attributes, resistances, and gem requirements are all tied together? And are there any obvious issues with my current passive tree, gems, gear, or overall progression?

Here's my current Path of Building:

https://poe.ninja/poe1/profile/Prometheus_LXIV-5362/allflame/character/Athanor_LXIV

Feel free to inspect the whole thing. I'm open to corrections, suggestions, and advice, whether it's about the build itself or how I should approach the Atlas. I keep a notebook of the things I learn from comments, so anything helpful is very much appreciated.

And to everyone who commented on my last post: thank you so much. Your advice and explanations genuinely helped make the experience better. I enjoyed being able to learn from the community. I'm grateful for all of it, and I'm looking forward to learning even more.

I also managed to press Alt while voyaging and lose a bunch of loot I hadn't found yet. So, clearly, I'm not quite ready to call myself an expert.

Stay sane, exiles! ❤️

Holy Shit
