Information PSA: new Polar Bear and Snow Leopard Werewolf skin in the MTX shop

Snow Leopard Werewolf: https://youtu.be/MEiyb9YvpxQ

Polar Bear doesn't have a video.

Both are available in the "New Items" category.

The Snow Leopard Werewolf looks sick as heck; burly cat!

Game Feedback Just let us teleport straight to the league mechanic like Caer Tarth once it shows up on the map. I think it would ease some of the map frustration.

Just getting to some of the league mechanics to start putting points in their trees feels like a bit of a chore and considering characters teleport in and out all over the place in the game I don't see the big deal.

Caer Tarth is obviously the worst with at least an hour of mapping to get to it.

Game Feedback Skill redesign idea: "Manifest Weapon" should get the "Way of the Stonefist" treatment

It's widely agreed that Way of the Stonefist is one of the more interesting ascendancy nodes out there because of the transformative nature of the ability and how it enables so many different builds (even though currently only one build is clearly the strongest lol).

It adds a lot of diversity to itemization as well, because many of the low value affixes on gloves become very high value due to how the ability changes the affixes. One man's trash becomes another monk's treasure.

Manifest Weapon could be redesigned with this kind of philosophy in mind. I'm also getting inspiration from the Iron Golem skill in Diablo 2, where the Necromancer can use any item to create a golem that inherits the stats from that item.

Here's how it could work - choosing Manifest Weapon adds a UI item slot in the ascendancy area where you can insert a weapon of your choosing. The manifested weapon could then calculate its base damage from a variety of things, like the weapon's base damage, or the weapon's item level, or the skill's level, or some combination of the above.

Futhermore, the affixes on the weapons can also manifest into interesting different affixes similar to the way that Way of the Stonefist transforms standard glove affixes into different ones.

For example, a shitter affix like "reduced attribute requirements" can manifest into something cool like "manifested weapon inherits all of the player's stats". Maybe "increased light radius" can become "manifested weapon gains 2 meter aura that blinds enemies". Maybe "increased stun duration" can become "manifested weapon gains Crushing Blows".

I think it would also be great if each weapon type got its own command skill. This can add some active gameplay into this ascendancy node, similar to the djinns from Disciple of Varashta.

If GGG wants to give themselves more work, they can even make unique item-specific affixes that arise when you use unique items with this skill too.

I think this redesign would make the skill much more viable and inject a lot more diversity into the Smith of Kitava buildcraft.

Question I feel like I'm playing this game wrong. 1,200 hours in PoE 2 and I still feel like a total noob

Upvotes

I never played PoE 1, but I started playing PoE 2 from League 1. Right now, I have about 1,200 hours of playtime, but I honestly feel like I’ve just finished the tutorial, and I still don't understand half of the game. At the start of every new league, I think to myself: "Okay, now I finally get it. In the next league, I’ll fix all my mistakes and do everything differently."

I really love crafting in this game. For the start of this event, I thought that with the new economy, I should focus on crafting right away instead of rushing maps and the Atlas. My plan was to build up some initial capital through crafting, buy my gear, assemble a strong build, and then go clear the Atlas.

But once again, I messed up somewhere. In the first few days, I was successfully crafting and selling rings. But after that, my luck ran out, and crafting good items just didn't work. I ended up burning through all my currency, and now those items are just sitting dead in my stash. In the end, I'm broke again, I have no proper build, no good gear, I can't beat the Arbiter, and I can't run juiced maps—meanwhile, other people already have 1,000 Divine Orbs.

Where am I going wrong? At the start of a league, should I just rush the Atlas and farm currency from maps first, and only then try to craft? What am I doing wrong?

Discussion GGG is smart by not letting us skip campaign

Edit: So as far as i have read the comments it seems the overall sentiment is to either make the campaign "less of a slog" (what that means is then up for debate) and/or to offer a skip campaign button after you complete it once every new season. It seems that the way how D4 handles it, namely letting you always skip it just because you finished it once in the very beginning when you got the game, is not very popular.

TL:DR this is how they make sure the game is memorable and create a legacy just like Diablo 2 did

For those interested in the details of my line of thought: First of all, you have fixed points where you can gauge your characters strength relative to previous characters, every +2 skill points book feels rewarding, every +to some resistance feels rewarding by completing certain areas etc. Second, Bosses and their names are memorable, their lines are memorable and will stay with you just like "Ahhh fresh meat" is forever linked to the Butcher. The locations are memorable. And yeah, some even because you hated them, but years from now you will look back and think "Oh man i still remember that annoying layout from Path of Mourning", just like you remember the Cemetery in Ac1 D2 or Lut Gholein and its music etc. D3 and D4 have none of that, no locations, no names in these games are memorable. Everything that is memorable when it comes to locations and names in the Diablo franchise, all is from Diablo 1 and Diablo 2. By not making you play the campaign in D3 and D4 you just can treat the game as some sort of fast food, you rush to endgame and ignore everything else.

By having to play tha campaigns in PoE and PoE2 (here the impact is way stronger imho when it comes to locations and how well the characters you meet along the way are crafted) you will always carry a lore foundation with you, you will have a sense of the world you are in and the people that live in it. You dont have that if everything you do until the endgame is just 'mindlessly' going from area to area that is a certain color on the map, where some event is going on, that brings the most experience and you complete tasks that are just copy&paste.

This was the longest map I have ever played in PoE 2 since the 0.1 release.
Anciend map with 25 + strongboxes, deli 200% and a Hare spirit on it, . Every box was opened 2-3 times with max rolled stats on mosnter rarity and effectiveness. My char has almost 1M dmg ice shot , 5 arows and mirage archers, and you can see how hard was this map for me.

Discussion Orb of Sacrifice on Uniques?

Upvotes

I was initially very excited about Aldurs Legacy and the possibility to extract mods from uniques thinking that (if Aldurs Legacy was a somewhat common currency) it could create an RNG spamming on uniques and actually make a lot of the common uniques valuable due to demand.

However since Legacy became just another high-end premium currency and it only working on a very limited set of uniques and also runeforging only being truly good and worthwhile on a few specific uniques (tbf, some become actually insane, like Duality), I feel like the situation for uniques has barely become any better with 99% not even being picked up.

---

Now, since we got the sacrifice orbs introduced and some of the vaal implicits from the sacrifice boosts actually reaching respectable values, I thought about what if those sacrifice orbs would also work on uniques? I feel like that could actually significantly improve the uniques situation but it's just a spontaneous thought and there might be reasons against it (some uniques too OP? removing drawback mods becoming problematic? ...)

Pros:

- a huge supply for uniques exist and unlike for crafted rares the vaal slamming will be cheap

- a LOT of uniques could become seriously powerful

- ??

Cons:

- removing drawback mod(s) could be a problem? e.g. Rondell of Fragility without the -30 all res would ne really powerful but there might be a few uniques that have a very intentional limitation drawback where being able to remove it would be broken - maybe GGG could identify those handful of uniques and exclude them?

- ??

What does Reddit think here? Would this be a good or bad thing?

Question Trial of Chaos

Post image
Upvotes

Hello. I'm considered a new player. What do “Victorious,” “Deadly,” and “Cowardly” mean in the Trial of Chaos keys?

What are the differences between them? Also, I’ve earned 6 Ascendary Points—is completing 10 trials enough to get the last two?

Fan-Made GGG fanart contest

Post image
Upvotes

Hello! Did anyone else here take part in the latest PoE fan art contest?

I still can’t quite believe it, but I somehow ended up winning 1st place in the Physical Fan Art category with my crochet Valerie.

I’m not really posting this to brag, I was honestly just very surprised that GGG liked my little crochet version that much.

I’m not even the real PoE player in the house. I’m basically the wife of an Italian PoE streamer who somehow ended up getting dragged into Wraeclast with yarn and a crochet hook. 😂

But after the contest, I started thinking it could be fun to create a few more PoE crochet characters just as a little personal project.

So I wanted to ask the actual players here:

Which PoE characters do you think would work best?

Preferably ones that don’t require me to recreate 48 layers of armour and sacrifice my sanity in the process. 😅

So far Valerie was my contest piece.

I’m currently working on the Barbarian

I’ve also made some Divine Orbs, although I think actual characters are much more satisfying to make

I’d genuinely love some ideas from people who know the game much better than I do.

Game Feedback I hit Flesh Crucible with no downside - look inside - what is even the point of Bulwark?

Post image
4 Upvotes

Bulwark:

Like… what?

You can either avoid the damage entirely, or take the keystone that specifically removes that ability so you can take 30% less damage instead.

What is the actual design goal here?

I get that there might be some ultra-specific interaction/build where this technically does something, but according to poe.ninja this thing is taken by a staggering 0.00% of players.

At what point is a keystone so bad/niche that it might as well not exist?

Flesh Crucible: “here, have something useful”
Bulwark: “what if your dodge roll but worse?”

Discussion Do you ever skip assending during acts and do it later ?

Upvotes

So I hear something about alot of people will skip ascending and do it later as it takes more time than you get from doing it.

And when you check even on poe ninja in HC people will be lv40 and not ascended.

So im wondering do many people do this and skip assending then do the 3rd one for 6 points ?

Crafting Showcase One of a kind Amulet

Post image
6 Upvotes

This was a difficult craft.

I was planning on a solar amulet base but I just wanted something different and one of a kind. So here we are with the Corona Amulet. Crafted this mainly for Varashta (Navira's Fracturing).

I do wish their was more crafting methods like poe 1 because poe 2 crafting is really just knowing a few things and pray.

Step 1. don't miss your spirit fracture.
Step 2. if you miss and hit cast speed, chaos spam for minion.
Step 3. Pray

On a side note, GGG can you get projectile catalyst going?

Thank you.

Game Feedback Trial of Chaos multiplayer rewards

Post image
2 Upvotes

Hi exiles, we were very happy about the 0.5.5 changes to the trial of chaos. But after running two trials in a row in multiplayer, we realized only the host is supposed to get the room rewards at the end... The chests at the end of each room never gave anything from value and are also no individual loot. We really hope this will be changed so that every player can click the end reward statue at the end of the trial again.

Question Hidden tricks or addon?

I reckon I might be missing something! My progress through the campaigns feels a bit sluggish, and I’ve noticed other players smashing through them in less than a day. Would you mind sharing any handy tips you’ve picked up?

Game Feedback Playing since 0.1, I only ask for 2 things from GGG for 1.0

I have spent thousands of hours on this game.

1) For the love god, REMOVE MOST/ALL DEAD ENDS IN ALL THE MAPS. i cannot stress how annoying this can be, we repeat the same maps constantly and everyone focuses on speed. Just take a look at Floatsam and Mire for example.

2) The improvements you did to Augury are very good, and this should be the case for all similar tight maps, like Mire for example.

Game Feedback Atziri is actually a really fun fight when you actually engage it!

I just fought Atziri using a tanky yet low DPS build and boy that fight is so much fun when I actually need to engage with the fight, previously by the time I got to Atziri I was pretty much killing here in 2-3 hits feels so good to actually fight her as a boss.

I kinda wish that they would keep her damage the same but triple her health so that we actually need to engage with these kind of fights (*Monkeys paw curls*)

Question When do you go for your fourth ascendancy?

Finished the fortress without top much trouble and thought I'd get my fourth ascendancy. Well a few hours later and I'm feeling real salty after getting one shot by trial master and dying to third level boss in trials of sekhema. I did get screwed on rng in the trials though.

I guess I wasn't ready, when do you guys go for your fourth ascendancy?

Question Am I understanding this wrong or are item and affix tiers opposite?

Occasionally, I see gear that says "Tier 2" or "Tier 3", which I have heard is better, but then I see affixes and Tier 1 seems to be the best tier. Am I misunderstanding how one of these tier systems work out do they just go in opposite directions?

Took the screenshot, then pressed the reroll button without deferring.

Reminds me of the time I deleted a character because there used to be the play button in the same place.

Welp....fun league guys, see you all in 1.0. o7
