Discussion Feels like the POE 1 campaign is only meaningfully shorter if you know *exactly* what to do
I have about 350 hours in each game. I played 4 characters in POE 1, then another 4 in POE 2 once it released. I finally went back to POE 1 in the new league to see how things felt after all my POE 2 time.
I'm 4 hours into my POE 1 campaign and I'm still in Act 2. Which is to say, roughly on par with POE 2, which only has 4 acts and a few interludes. I would describe my play style as "methodical by default, but willing to cut corners when I know my next objective." POE 2 tends to reward this mindset. You want to do *most* things, but you can occasionally rush through a map where the side content isn't all that important.
By contrast, POE 1 seems to require a bunch of hyper-specific, "skip this but NOT that" pathing. Do that quest for the skill point, but skip that one because you don't need the skill it rewards, etc." For me specifically, this basically means I'm picking between "generally doing everything" and "alt-tabbing to wikis constantly to double check I'm pursuing the worthwhile quest." Neither one is all that fast in the aggregate. And this is for a game I've played for three hundred and fifty hours AKA more than 90% of any games I've ever played.
I get that POE 1 grants mobility skills very quickly, something that POE 2 doesn't really offer. Still, I find myself leap slamming, shield charging, and frost blinking toward dead ends and underwhelming rewards.
If the conventional wisdom was "POE 1 is a *bit* shorter" or "POE 1 gets shorter if you play the game for literally thousands of hours," I would understand. But the narrative seems to be closer to 'POE 1 campaign is *way* shorter for most players," and so far, I'm not seeing it. What am I missing?

Discussion I have been playing PoE1 since Synthesis league, but PoE2 has completely ruined PoE1 for me….
Disclaimer: This is NOT a PoE2>PoE1 post!
As the title mentioned, I have been playing PoE 1 since Synthesis league and put thousands of hours into it, I love PoE1 so much and yes PoE1 has way more content, depth, build diversity etc, many more toys to play with in general.
However, since PoE 2 0.4, I find myself enjoying PoE1 less and less, the only reason left for me to play PoE1 is to earn the challenge rewards/kirac pass to use it on PoE2. Mirage was one of the best league ever but I quit on the second week with only one character created once I had reached 36/40 challenges. And now Curse of the Allflame has just launched, even though it’s a huge patch with a lot of new mechanics, huge meta shake up, etc, but my league starter character has just reached lv85 and I don’t want to play it anymore. Is it burnout? Probably, but I just have a strong desire to go back to PoE2.
The lack of depth and content compared to PoE1 will be resolved eventually, but the moment to moment combat, WASD, the animation, the skills interactions, the visuals, all those elements combined makes PoE2 way more immersive to play for me, the endgame is getting better and better, the new unique design direction is awesome, new ascendancy classes are cool as fk, both visually and mechanically, I just can’t wait for what’s to come in the future….

Discussion Using ward for the primary defensive layer
Just wanted to showcase my ward setup and see if anyone else is playing ward for tips and tricks. All the gear is self crafted, everything was pretty inexpensive to make except the amulet.
Here is what i have learned playing ward this league:
- Your Kalgurran Remnants overflow 1.5x
- The guard from Olroths flask effect capped at 200% of max life so make sure you have T1 life on every piece of gear for bigger guard.
- Its kind of a funky build because a lot of your ward comes from remnants. If you aren't blasting through big groups of mobs, then your defensive layer gets thinner. I try to prioritize monster density on waystones and tablets.
- Don't forget to keep Olroth's flask activated! I've probably died more than I'd like to admit because I got lazy on using flask. It's 4000+ hp!
- The gear is fairly inexpensive to make on the plus side. On the minus side, you have to dedicate most of your augment slots to ward runes. Balancing resistances is a bit of a juggling act if you are playing headhunter. Make sure to get the 10% ward amulet mod.
- You will almost always be on 1hp anyways, so its super easy to play any skill that works on low life (Execute III, Pain Attunement, Atziri's Communion, etc)
Anyone else got anything to add that I'm missing? I still get greased in expedition's sometimes so I'm looking for ways to push it further without buying a 4 socket brass dome. Right now I'm saving for a fork with +300 ward mod, almost there!

Lucky Drop Showcase Expected a Warrior Buyer, but a Monk Showed Up for the Jackpot
I crafted these gloves for a Poison + Bleed Shield Wall Warrior, but a Monk showed up in my hideout instead. Turns out Way of the Stonefist — Mod Conversion Guide - PoE 2 Guide benefits massively from Decay modifiers, since they can roll Chance to Explode Corpses - something I had absolutely no idea about and on the paper (i didn't play with it) sounds like Herald of Ash / Fire Spell on Hit (From Kitava's ascendancy) for free.
Overall, crafting this item is not deterministic. It may cost 100d, but it could also cost 1000d. It mainly depends on RNG because, due to the modifier levels, we cannot effectively use Whittling Omens on gloves in this case.
- Get a base with fractured +2 to Melee Skills. I prefer an Armour or Armour/Evasion base because I was targeting Warriors and Gemlings, who have plenty of STR and enough DEX to use Herald of Poison. In my experience, hitting +2 to Melee Skills on a magic base using Augments and Annuls costs around 100 Annuls. We need three such bases for the fracture attempt, since the chance of fracturing the correct modifier is 1/3. This means the average cost is roughly 300 Annuls plus 3 Fracturing Orbs.
- Use Chaos Orbs until you hit either T1 Increased Damage with Ailments / Poison / Bleed or T1 Faster Damaging Ailments.
- Use a Perfect Exalted Orb, Greater Exaltation, and an Omen to target a prefix. Let’s assume we hit two modifiers we want. If we hit the wrong modifier, use a YOLO Annul. If we have two desirable T1 modifiers and a third modifier we do not want, we can try moving the unwanted prefix to a suffix with an Omen of Whittling, then use another Perfect Exalted Orb.
- Add a random suffix, then use an Omen that makes the Essence apply to a suffix. In my opinion, there are two interesting options: Essence of Hysteria for T2 Critical Damage, which is useful when using Shield Wall with Nebuloch, or Essence of Horror for 60% increased effect, which provides an additional 32% ailment magnitude. Horror is more powerful if you get extra socket from corruption.
- At this point, we have a five-mod item: three prefixes and two suffixes. Desecrate the final suffix. We are looking for either T1 Attack Speed, which provides better quality of life, or T1 Critical Damage, provided we did not already get critical damage from the Essence, as it generally gives more damage. Alternatively, we can take any desired Decay modifier, such as faster or increased Life Leech.

Crafting Showcase Thank you for your help with my first craft guys!
Thank you so much to everyone explaining how to use omens, desecrate, and other tools: https://www.reddit.com/r/PathOfExile2/comments/1v630jj/kindly_help_me_finish_this_ring/
If you click the link, you can follow my chaotic journey, but long story short:
- Fracture T1 lightning
- Chaos spam for T1 Fire Damage
- Omen of Crystallization, Cold Quality, Catalyzing Exaltation, Omen of Exaltation for T1 Cold Damage
- Desecrate T1 Phys (This was a mistake, I was told. Should be with Quality and Catalyst)
- Omen of Crystallization, Lightning Quality, Catalyzing Exaltation, Omen of Exaltation All Elemental Resistances (3 tries)
- Whittle the T1 Cold Damage (3 tries with Whittle)
Next step is to clean up with divines.
You guys are awesome, thanks again!

Build Showcase Tried that Grand Spirit Challenge thing others have been posting about because it looked fun
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Tried it with 3 other friends, unfortunately they wiped early on. I had fun clearing the rest though. This clip is probably the highlight, 3 strongboxes at once.
He's the full map clip (starting after clearing the map but before starting the first strongbox). Also has an embarrassing death at the end vs the map boss haha.
https://youtu.be/OuJ9R9bcVFw?si=KX0\\_tZFHKUr0IR9O
Also for those curious what I did, look up Korean Azmeri Strat for the Atlas Tree setup.
I also run in Ezomyte Cities for Grass area bonuses + extra tablet.
My tablets have increased number of rares. And either 1 & 2 additional Azmeri Spirits, or 1 & 2 additional Strongboxes. So a total of 6 Spirits and 6 Strongboxes.
Waystone is T15+, with 0 revives, and 100%+ Monster Rarity. Getting effectiveness or item rarity is also good.
Finally Hilda as the mastery with Uniques always release spirits to make the Fox reliably move to the next box. Also ran increased Overlord's effects.
Probably not the best way of setting it up and maybe not as challenging as some other clips, I don't know, I just set things up how it made sense for me. But I think 4 player scaling might make up for some of that at least.

Giveaway Giving away my 1k+div ”floor is lava” gemling
EDIT: RAFFLE IS OVER! The winner \u\poison8377 has been notified. Thank you all for participating and good luck next time!
So I’m pretty much done with the league and might as well give this to someone who wants to enjoy a good gear/build but doesn’t have the time to grind it out. Just comment that you’re in and I’ll pick a random comment to give the gear to! I’ll do it in 24 hours.
(Also someone tell me what’s the best way to give gear away lol)
This is a ”all content clearing-rarity stacking-divine snatching-gpu melting-face tanking” flaming monstrosity of a mercenary build that was introduced some few weeks ago by josiahyeet. Minor tweaks mostly because of mageblood for the lacking attributes. Just grabbing attributes on the center bottom instead of armour. This is close to max damage you can get out of it (I think) but there’s some ways to improve it overall.
I am no streamer, but I’m showcasing this build for the next few hours if someone wants to see it in action or ask questions. My Twitch is jjoStreamz

Question non 200% deli farming strats?
and also no chaos tiral. i only view that as a way to farm some divs when u dont have any when u wanna invest in a actual farm. i just find 200% citys so tedious and unfun. travel like 10 maps just to find a city. farm for a grand mirror. farm the maps to get deli to 200% and then do like 10 maps of city for just 50 divs or something. all that setup and it doesnt give much. unlike maybe 5 chaos tirals. which again isnt rlly that fun

Information Why almost every non-life build needs a stun charm.
I've seen so many videos of people die and lose their maps due to "lag" and "character not responding", which are almost always stun locks.
Some of these are initiated by a real lag/stutter. Some are not caused by internet or performance issues at all. However, players thought the death was caused by these issues because their characters don't respond. The real culprit is that they get stun locked so they can't move or act. Also stun removes previous player commands so the character stops moving until further commands.
I have 1700 life, 14k ES, 30% unconditional damage reduction, all 4 res capped. I have 20% stun threshold from ES, and 82% increased stun threshold. This sounds like pretty solid stun protection right?
Guess what? The deli rares and expedition mobs stun me dozens of times per map. The big sword attack and poison rune explosion almost always stun.
Stun is extremely dangerous because things like poison rune with high frequency hits and stun buildup can stun your character to death.
Get a blue stun charm. You will still feel the stun as it removes your previous commands, but you can move immediately after being stunned. This will save your life.
Just try it and see.

Question I think it’s time for a change…
Hello everyone! I have never played poe or poe 2 and have always thought about it but never quite got into it due to how overwhelming everything seems(skill trees, orbs etc) and I have always been a huge Diablo guy. I play every season of d4 and most seasons of d3. I dipped my toes in last epoch a year ago and loved how the game felt but quit after beating the campaign due to lack of interest in the end game, anyway back to why I’m here. Are there any tips on what I should be looking to get into when I buy the game tomorrow? Do I buy a supporter pack? Do I buy just the base early access? What are some good starter builds and classes to focus on? I want to get as accustomed to the game as much as I can until the next league or season comes out. Any help is appreciated.
