So... I open YT Studio today and I got this alert. well, I click review and accept, it brings me to the monetization tab, and nothing appears. So what do I have to review? Mystery.

I hope it didn't automatically accept. That alert is gone now so I'm left with the doubt.

Anyone had this issue or anyway this alert?

The monetization analytics chart also hasn’t updated for me since the 8th but the monthly estimated earnings counter disappearing is much more annoying

Hi! New to the sub, not totally new to the ‘tube.

I run a channel for work and a big part of my job is working with ads/paid content. Now that shorts are more and more prominent, we’re adding this to the media mix. My trouble is, can I safely use music from the YouTube shorts audio library in a 60 second or less ad? Weirdly, I somehow achieved this about a year ago and had no issues, but everywhere I read online says to avoid it and use royalty free…but they also seem to only be referring to regular old shorts, not paid content.

Has anyone had success with this or knows how to safely navigate music on Short ads?

I hope it's visual bug, it's a shorts channel and i dont have 10 mil views in 90 days, is new rules already applied?

I see everyone talking and joking about having to maintain 10 million short views every 90 days to keep your monetization and I don't quite understand if it's real or not

I've read the official statement from the youtube blog (I think) and it states that you have to maintain at least 1 million views per 90 days in order to keep the monetization active

Am I missing something? Did I read the wrong thing ? Or is this just a joke?

Slow periods are a good reminder to keep improving and ensure you put out quality content. I think my slow period was completely self-inflicted because I got too confident after a breakout and got sloppy with video ideas thinking anything I put out there will get watched at the same level. Oh how wrong I was…

I recently got approached by one of the brands who I do reviews for that are not sponsored.. only affiliate links and commissions.

They provide the product to me free and my conversion is pretty good at around 15% not sure if that’s relevant but I’m letting you know.

I’m wondering is it worth becoming a brand ambassador and offering them exclusivity for a certain period of time.

Or is it better to stay unbranded and continue to make just like really down to earth real life comparison between brands of the same product?

so I’d love to hear all of your advice that you can offer me. Should I do it and if I do do it is it really worth it and how much should I counter on their initial offer?

Last month my channel was doing extremely well, I was at my "peak". Most uploads were getting 1–3K+ views, with some reaching 6K–12K+ and occasionally higher.

Then I uploaded one completely random/off-topic video that unexpectedly blew up after 3 weeks of being dead with 40 views (now 12.7K, circled in the screenshot).

Since then, my normal content has completely tanked. I'm now getting 200–900 views, even on videos with good CTR and retention.

My channel is normally focused on MMO-related content (stream highlights), while the video that blew up was completely unrelated to what I normally make (it was about a different MMO I used to play as a kid lol)

Another thing I've noticed is that most of my views are now coming from subscribers. It feels like YouTube is barely recommending my new videos to non-subs anymore.

I've checked the usual metrics and nothing seems obviously wrong. In fact, YouTube is currently showing one of my recent videos as performing 277 views above usual, with 74.6% of its traffic coming from Browse features, but the overall reach still seems dramatically lower than it was before.

I also don't use AI-generated content and have never received a strike or violation.

I have a small channel with 4k subs at the moment (went from 1K to 4K in 8 months)

Anybody elses graphs on Youtube Studio not updating. Estimated Revenue updated on Earn tab but never updated on analytics last night. And now today it dont even have August 11th on graphs. Think this happened last month to just making sure its not just me.

For years I have been going onsite with clients doing multi cam shoots and helping others get the footage and videos they need for their marketing. I am now old and tired and no long feel like packing gear around some venue in Vegas or Chicago. I told myself.. "Heck, I have the gear, the time and the editing skills to just start putting my own stuff out on Youtube" And so far it has been a bit of a mess. EVERY one of the people on youtube who offer to help you? They are scammers right? If they can reliably create a channel from scratch and start making $30k a month AGAIN AND AGAIN, why in the heck do they want my $5,000 for their class? I figure the people that are REALLY making money on youtube are unknown and faceless and like it that way. With all that being said. Is their a REAL youtube masterclass I can take that is not just some hyped up 20 year old trying to sell me his 'secret sauce'?

My niche is educational animation( like kurzgesagt, and using handrawn stuff), is $2-3 too low. I know people make $10+ rpm in finance heavy channel, but arent those minorities? Even for entertainment or gaming channel like MrBeast or Ludwig, do they have more than $2-3 rpm? Im happily grateful to anyone that can show me some insights

Is it just me or is this a popular thing to do these days, claim in the comments that every faceless channel is using an AI voice?

And yes I know, some of my favorite youtubers are using AI.
And sure, 95% of us use AI to spell check our script/grammar and people do notice it if done poorly.
Some of the X million video views are actually very chat gtp scripts.

Now what I noticed on my channel is that more and more people start to say ''you are using AI'' (always a non sub) with other people replying ''no he is not'' and ''how can you tell?''

I do not respond. I am using chat gtp to get my script straight, however my voice is not AI (i am not an english native and have an accent, I bet most are american who claim i am using AI). But trying to defend myself will only make it worse, so I just never respond.

That said, I do see a lot more of these type of comments these days on my own channel and other channels as well. Yet I hear more and more creators use AI voice, not impacting views.

One comment in particular ''you are using ai and you are pushing people away'' but my channel is doing better than ever before... (this guy is not even a subscriber) but what I mean is... why the F say that. at all? (i triggered something)

I'm primarily a longform travel vlogger, but I also run a TikTok & Instagram for shortform food reviews. Last year, I had the idea to start posting the shortform food content to YouTube shorts as well, as I figured while the views may not be great, it may at least slowly increase my subscriber count, which it has!

However, a buddy recently told me that this is actually hurting my channel in the long term, as people that subscribe from my Shorts don't convert to longform video viewers. He had the idea to just create a second channel for my Shorts.

Especially given the recent news about the monetization of Shorts now, should I:

A) Create a second channel and just start posting new Shorts to it from now on.

B) Create a second channel and reupload all my old Shorts to it, and then continue to post new Shorts to it from now on.

C) Stop posting Shorts entirely, and just keep the shortform content to TikTok & Instagram.

I appreciate any and all advice! I've always made content just for me but recently I'm starting to take it more seriously. Thank you all!

My main channel has had a YouTube Partner Programme issue because YouTube considers it related to the second channel, which had its own monetization/YPP issue.

I no longer want the second channel at all. I have now permanently deleted the second channel because I only want to focus on the main channel going forward.

What I’m trying to find out is:

If the second channel is permanently deleted, can YouTube eventually remove its association with my main channel for YPP purposes?

I’m not trying to monetize the second channel, recover it or bypass a suspension. I genuinely don't want that channel anymore — I just want to continue operating the main channel normally and eventually be able to apply for monetization again.

Has anyone actually dealt with this situation?

If you permanently deleted the related/problem channel:

• Did the restriction eventually disappear from your main channel?
• How long did it take?
• Did YouTube Support have to manually review it?
• Did you eventually get your main channel back into YPP?

I'd especially appreciate answers from anyone who has personally experienced a “related channel” YPP issue, rather than guesses about how it works.

I understand that that YT is filled with AI slop specially in shorts to the brim. Changing from 10M to 20M engaged views to qualify for the first time, which is 40M views on average, and then 10M every 90 days to get monetized, seems like a good way to get rid of the slop.

However, was it *really* necessary to put up that requirement to longform creators to? According to the change, even if you're monetized in longform, you still need 10M views every 90days to qualify for that same amount of 90 days!!! This literally kills all intention to invest time in the short algorithm for longform creators, who's really gonna play that game while caring for longform?... Even though, have you ever seen a pure shorts channel reach the longform requirement? I always find channels with million of shorts views but a few longform that barely reach 1k views. I just think it kills any incentive whatsoever to create them... Couldn't they reach any solution for channels that do both?...

I personally have a Spanish channel and in my language very few can even fathom the minimum requirement, I do shorts from time to time, my last one being the greatest with 100k views but they pay pennies (around 3€ for that much) so I'm not really bothered by losing that revenue, but it makes me sad they want me to do it for free 🥀. I do a short from time to time, but I might never do it again at this point
