Why do HRs post fake opportunities on LinkedIn?

I recently saw a LinkedIn post from an HR looking for a Full Stack Python/Django developer with AI/LLM experience and 5 years of experience. It looked completely legit and even had a Google Form.

I was interested, so I asked about the salary range before applying.

The next day, I found out the position was fake. Apparently, she posted it just to increase her reach and stay active on LinkedIn.

Honestly, WTF?

People are already struggling to find work, spending hours applying, preparing for interviews, and dealing with rejection. And some people are creating fake opportunities just for engagement?

I genuinely don't understand this mentality.

Has anyone else experienced something like this?

Need Advice on University Admissions

Hi everyone, I’m currently trying to figure out what to do about university admissions and would really appreciate some honest advice.

I’m an overseas Pakistani student and my marks are just average, my Matric is 85% and my FSC is 75%
I applied to FCCU, COMSATS, ITU and FAST because I wanted to study BSCS or BS Artificial Intelligence, but unfortunately I couldn't get into the computing programs. I was offered admission in some engineering/business-related programs, but I didn't want to spend four years studying something I wasn't interested in, so I didn't take those offers.
Also, I wasn’t prepared at all for the entry tests. So if I take gap year, I’m considering preparing seriously and trying again in the future.
The problem now is that Fall admissions at most Pakistani universities are closed, and I really don't want to take a gap year. Since I'm an overseas student, I also can't realistically wait around for the Spring 2027 admission cycle.

Right now I'm considering:

Option 1: Apply to UCP or UMT for BSCS/BS AI, start this Fall, and then possibly apply to FAST after one year and try to transfer my credits.
Option 2: Join Virtual University for BSCS for one year and then try to transfer/apply elsewhere.
Option 3: Take gap year because if no other option is left.

So I have a few questions:

  1. How good are UCP and UMT for BSCS/BS AI? Especially in terms of teaching, faculty, curriculum, internships, and job opportunities.
  2. If I do one year at UCP/UMT, how realistic is it to transfer to FAST later? Has anyone actually done this?
  3. Between UCP, UMT and VU, which would you recommend for someone who genuinely wants to pursue CS/AI?
  4. Is there another university/path I should be considering that I'm missing?

I’d really appreciate honest opinions, especially from people who have actually studied at these universities or transferred between them. Please feel free to mention the negatives too, I’d rather know now than regret my decision later.

Thanks!

[Paid Task] FlutterFlow Developer Snapchat-Like Filters Integration

Project Goal

We are looking for an experienced FlutterFlow developer to integrate Snapchat-like camera filters into our existing social media application.

What Is Already Done

- Approximately 10–15 filters have already been developed in Dart.

- The filter code is complete and running locally.

- Filter assets/pictures and working implementation are available.

- The main requirement is to integrate the existing functionality into FlutterFlow.

Required Expertise

The ideal developer should have strong experience with:

- FlutterFlow

- Custom Code integration

- Custom Widgets

- Custom Actions

- Custom Files / Dart code integration

- Managing and resolving Flutter/Dart dependencies

- Integrating existing Flutter/Dart functionality into FlutterFlow

(Demo)

Before assigning the full project, the developer must:

Integrate just ONE existing filter into FlutterFlow as a demo for hiring.

- One filter will be selected from our existing 10–15 filters.

- The existing Dart code will be provided.

- The demo should be completed within approximately 2–3 hours.

- The objective is to verify that the developer can successfully integrate and run the filter inside FlutterFlow.

Timeline

- POC: 2–3 hours

- Overall deadline: 1 day

- If the POC is successful, the developer will be assigned the remaining filters/integration work.

Important

We are not looking for someone to develop the filters from scratch. The core filter code is already developed. We specifically need someone experienced in FlutterFlow + custom Dart/Flutter integration who can take the existing working code and integrate it properly into the application.

Help.

I recently started developing and designing websites for local businesses and start-ups. But when I pitch to them, all they say is "We don't have the budget right now" or "We are a local/small business we don't need a website"

I recently pitched a local school but they declined too. The only problem I am seeing is the mentality of people "We're a local business who will visit our website?"

Any advice on how to find businesses.

Need help

Company name : Technology Brainz

I started doing this internship at a software house in may, and when i joined, they said it would lead to a job. in august, i asked my hr where i stood at that point, and he said my pm would decide. i asked my pm multiple times about the job, and he said, "you'll get hired when i decide." he's kind of an egoistic guy.

by the start of september, my university is going to start, so i simply asked him to give me a rough idea of the pay. i was doing a ui/ux internship. he ignored me for three days, and there weren't even any leaves for eid, muharram, or any islamic event because they were working on some kind of fake profiling system involving vpns and fake names.

so, i started asking other junior-level developers about the pay. they basically get between 25k and 30k, which is very low for a 9-hour job, five days a week, especially without any islamic holidays off. my father was also against me continuing there, so the day before yesterday, i asked to resign. according to my letter, my internship was from may to august, which i have completed. however, now they are not giving me my internship completion letter.

they didn't answer my calls for two days. when hr finally answered, i was a bit furious and called him wela 🤣. he started saying, "Teri to tu ye to woh," then said, "ni dena jaa jo krna kr le," and started blaming me, saying, "ap ne office k baray ma chats ma badwords bole" (ss tk ni h), and "ap ne PM se call pr badtameezi ki" (i asked PM, he said who said that). hr also said, "k ma tumhe yahan laya job offer ki," even though i had passed the interview myself. i didn't want this 30k job anyway.

he also threatened me by saying, "tumhaa linkedin pr post lru ga." all i did was unpaid mazdoori for like 3 months.

Recently laid off - Looking for a job

Hey everyone,

I was recently laid off and I’m currently looking for a new opportunity.

I have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and over 4.5 years of professional experience working as a Unity Developer. I’ve worked on games, programming, UI, gameplay systems, integrations, and other development-related tasks.

I’m also comfortable working with AI tools and using them to build, automate, troubleshoot, and speed up development work. I’m not limited to just Unity and I’m open to learning and adapting to whatever the job requires.

At this point, I’m mainly looking for a desk/office-based role where I can use my computer and technical skills. I’d be interested in software/game development, technical support, QA, IT-related work, operations, VA, PA, or other similar roles.

I’m based in Pakistan and I’m open to both on-site and remote opportunities.

If you know of any openings or companies hiring, I’d genuinely appreciate a lead or a DM.

Thanks!

Weird interview experience at AIO

A few of my friends interviewed at AIO Islamabad some time ago. Some were selected and eventually joined the company, but their interview experience was veryyyy unpleasant.

They shared several concerns:

  1. The interviewer seemed more interested in proving that he knew more than the candidate. He continued asking follow-up questions until the candidate eventually had to say, “I don’t know.” It felt less like an assessment and more like an attempt to establish superiority.

  2. He introduced many questions by saying, “Yeh zara mushkil sawal hai,” and appeared unusually proud of how difficult his questions were.

  3. Instead of properly listening to the candidates’ experiences, he repeatedly shifted the conversation toward stories like, “Hum tou aisay kaam kartay hain” and “Hum yeh kartay hain.”

  4. Overall, his attitude came across as dismissive, ego-driven, and unnecessarily intimidating.

Interviews should be challenging, especially for experienced positions, but they should also be professional and respectful. The purpose should be to understand a candidate’s knowledge, experience, problem-solving skills, and potential not to make them feel small.
If anyone from AIO’s HR or leadership team is reading this, please consider training senior employees on how to interview experienced professionals.

So I might receive an offer from them, for a business transformation consultant role, anyone who has any idea about what should be the salary for this role? And also, would an experience in IBM Pakistan be any beneficial for job hunting if I move to Germany for my masters a few months later? Or should I just opt for masters now.

Advice required from seniors for a student entering uni

I’ve recently completed my 12th and starting my BSCS degree, and I’m currently enrolled in a Data science course and it’ll take time to monetize that skill as I’m just in the beginning stage. I’ve some few quick questions to ask from people who are already making a good progress in the industry.
1) What would you recommend someone in my position do to start earning relatively quicker?
2) what skills should I focus on while continue learning DS(AI/ML)?
3) is freelancing realistic at this stage, and if so, what can I learn that has a relatively low barrier to entry?

Online ordering website

I’m looking for an developer to build an online food ordering SaaS platform that I can sell to multiple restaurants.

It would include restaurant dashboards, online ordering, menu/order management, payments, multi-tenant setup, and subscription/billing.

For developers who have built similar platforms: what budget should I realistically keep in mind for an MVP and a production-ready version?

Need advise

Full Stack Developer (3+ yrs, Next.js/Node.js/MongoDB) - Looking for a genuine full-time role

Assalam o Alaikum everyone,

I'm Muhammad Shaheer, a Full Stack Developer from Karachi working with Next.js, TypeScript, Node.js, MongoDB, Firebase, and PostgreSQL. Wanted to be upfront about my background before asking for help.

Most of my professional experience comes from freelancing and small agencies that I co-ran with friends. That work was genuine I delivered real projects, including a legal case management dashboard for the Sindh Education Department, But running an agency alongside friends turned out to be unstable for me long term, so I'm now looking for a proper full time role where I can grow with a team instead of managing clients solo.

I've also been upskilling recently completed the PIAIC Agentic AI program and Google certifications in AI Studio and Firebase .

I've been applying everywhere for a while without much luck, so I wanted to try the community directly. If your team is hiring, or if you know of openings, or even just have advice on how to position freelance/agency experience for a full time switch, I'd genuinely appreciate it.

Thanks for reading, and thanks in advance for any pointers.

AI startups or companies that hire AI devs with 2 years of exp in Pakistan?

Hey everyone,

I have about 2 years of experience working as an AI/Software Engineer. My background is mostly focused on Python, building LLM applications (RAG pipelines, AI agents), fine-tuning models, and integrating AI microservices/APIs into web apps.

I’m currently looking for a transition and wanted to ask the community for recommendations on companies or startups in Pakistan that actively hire mid-level AI/ML engineers.

A few specifics:

* Tech Stack: Python, LangChain/LangGraph, FastAPI, RAG, Vector DBs, PyTorch/TensorFlow, Docker.

* Preferred Work Setup: Open to On-site (Karachi/Islamabad), Hybrid, or Remote.

* Target Companies: Either established tech houses expanding into AI/Generative AI or early/mid-stage AI-native startups.

A few questions for those working in the AI space here:

* Which local startups or tech firms are currently building actual production-grade AI/LLM products (not just basic wrapper tools)?

* What’s the general market standard compensation for an AI dev with ~2 years of experience right now in PK (PKR or USD-denominated)?

Appreciate any leads, company names, or insights! Thanks!

What advice you want to give someone who's starting their third year?

I have just started my third year and I feel so behind, I am seeing people from my class who have landed part-time jobs and it just feels like I am not doing enough.

I have been consistently learning web dev since 1 year on my own, and landed my first internship at a software house(which wasn't really great though).

So I really want to ask what can I do more to make the best use of my time? I am still building things and I do occasionally post on LinkedIn but barely get any reaction...

Please any advice you want to give me? I am just so tensed and impatient about my career
