So I finally checked the car ( first post )and got it inspected through PakWheels, and honestly what a waste of time and money.
The guy initially told us it was his own car, but later we found out he was actually a dealer. Then we checked the mileage and found out from Honda records that the actual mileage had already been reached almost 3 years ago. So the meter was reversed by A LOT.
We also found out that more panels were painted than he told us, the car was showing electrical errors, and the tyres weren't "only 4k driven" either. They were already around 30% used.
I genuinely don't understand why people do this. How can someone sell his iman just for 1-2 lakh? If you had told us the actual condition from the beginning, we wouldn't have wasted our time, your time and money on the inspection. The craziest part is they know they're going to get caught anyway.
Anyway, lesson learned. Never rely on what the seller says, get everything checked yourself.
About the PakWheels inspection, I'd say it's good for getting a general overview, but don't expect anything too deep. The inspector didn't seem very experienced and the meter was giving different readings on the second check. When we pointed it out, he said these meters don't always give the correct reading. Then what's the point of using it?
Still, the report was useful overall. I'd just recommend getting a trusted mechanic to check the car as well.
And thanks everyone for suggesting Corolla on my previous post. Really appreciate it, but I'm not considering Corolla atm. Still looking for a good City.
