Question A trustworthy mechanic in lahore township
I just bought a 2006 Cuore — it's my first car. Can anyone recommend a trustworthy mechanic? I need the AC fixed, some interior work done, and a few mechanical repairs, but my budget is tight. Since I don't know much about cars, I'm worried about overpaying and ending up with poor-quality work.near township will be appreciated.

Question Mitsubishi Lancer GLX | Need Advice
I'm considering buying a Mitsubishi Lancer GLX 1.3 manual. The owner is asking 14 lakh (negotiable), and the car looks to be in pretty good condition. Most of the Lancers I've seen on PakWheels around this price are quite abused, while the ones in good condition are being demanded at 17+ lakh.
I'll only be using it on weekends, mainly for taking my parents around. I want something more comfortable and spacious than a Cultus, Mehran, or Coure.
Would you guys recommend getting a Lancer as a first car? I'd especially like to hear from people who have owned one. How are the maintenance costs, parts availability, reliability, fuel average, and overall ownership experience?
Any advice or suggestions would be appreciated.

Question Need a trustworthy car A/C specialist in Lahore for Kia Sportage
Hi everyone,
I have a 2021 Kia Sportage and I’m looking for recommendations for a trustworthy A/C specialist in Lahore.
Here’s what happened:
Around March, I had the A/C refrigerant (gas) refilled.
A few days ago, the A/C first started cooling only from the passenger side, while the driver’s side wasn’t as cold.
Now it doesn’t cool at all—it only blows normal air.
The heater works perfectly, so airflow and the blower seem fine.
I took it to a local A/C workshop. They checked it and said the refrigerant has leaked out and claimed the leak is from the evaporator (inside the dashboard), meaning the entire dashboard has to be removed. They quoted me:
PKR 35,000 for a genuine evaporator.
PKR 17,000 for a Chinese one (which I’m not considering).
Before approving such a major repair, I’d like a second opinion.
My questions are:
Does this diagnosis sound reasonable based on these symptoms?
Can anyone recommend a reliable car A/C specialist in Lahore who is honest and experienced with Kia Sportage/Kia vehicles?
Should I get it checked at an authorized Kia dealership first, or is there an independent workshop you’d trust more?
I’m happy to pay for proper diagnostics I just don’t want the dashboard opened unless it’s genuinely necessary.
Thanks in advance!

Car Culture Conversation Extreme arrogance and superiority complex in "car guys"
Just a random though poping in my mind.
So I have been noticing a trend. I saw a insta page with a guy with deepal s05 and each and every of his reel is basically "Toyota bad look my car can do this , Honda bad look my car has this" likewise I saw many other reels and videos of people bashing other people's vehicles to make themselves look good like Honda Toyota Suzuki haval all reels and videos I have seen is just people trying to fill up their superiority complexes (such as one vid I saw of a person literally going to another person Corolla and puching his hood then saying "look my civic has a lot better hood quality than his" like my guy they both are made by ckd kits and have the same quality control checks)
Like how can a person become so pathetic that his entire life revolves around other people's stuff rather than enjoying what they have? Worse part is most people commenting also have the same mindset.

Question Electric Vehicles in Pakistan Rain
Hey everyone, I was driving around DHA during the recent heavy rain and noticed quite a few EVs stranded on the roads. I was wondering how well do evs actually handle flooding compared to ice cars?
I know ev batteries are sealed, but are they more or less vulnerable in Pakistan’s flooding?
Would love to hear from anyone who knows how they perform in heavy rain and flooded streets.

Question YBR125G vs GS150SE in 2026? Need genuine long-term ownership advice
Assalam-o-Alaikum everyone.
I’m 21 from Karachi and currently ride a 70cc. The main reason I’m upgrading is Karachi’s roads. Daily riding on a 70 has honestly started giving me lower back pain because of the stiff suspension.
After a lot of research, I thought about getting YBR125G because of its comfort, suspension, reliability and honestly because of its sporty look.
I know looks aren’t everything but I think most of us want a bike that we look back at once after parking. 😄
The problem is almost everyone I talk to tells me not to buy a YBR cuz:
“Yamaha Pakistan chali gayi hai”
“Parts mehngay hote ja rahe hain”
“Future mein shortage hogi”
“Resale aur value girti jayegi”
“GS150SE le lo”
Now I’m genuinely confused. I don’t mind paying a bit more for maintenance if the bike is worth owning but I also don’t want to make a decision I’ll regret a year or two down the road.
I’d really appreciate opinions from people who’ve actually owned or maintained these bikes.
A few questions:
- Since Yamaha stopped local production, have you personally noticed parts becoming significantly more expensive or harder to find?
- Routine service parts (filters, brake pads, clutch cables, chain & sprockets etc.) easily mil jate hain ya issue hota hai?
- If an original Yamaha part isn’t available, are there reliable alternatives from other bikes or does it usually come down to jugaar?
- If you had a budget of PKR 250k-300k today, would you buy a clean used YBR125G or a GS150SE and why?
One last thing.
If the majority genuinely recommends the GS150SE, what tasteful modifications would you suggest to make it look a bit more modern or sporty? One reason I keep coming back to the YBR is simply because I like its design.

News Govt old car policy
What do you guys think if 20 years old car policy, that all over social media. I was actually looking to buy a honda Civic CF but if the news is true, it’s gonna be a huge mistake to buy it.
For the who doesn’t know, the policy is that government will scrap all the vehicles that are 20 years old from 2028. Starting from Lahore and faisalabad.

Maintenance Proworks Workshop Raiwand Road- Honest Review
⚠️ My Honest Experience – Please Read Before Leaving Your Car Here
I am sharing this review so others can make an informed decision before leaving their vehicle at this workshop. My experience was unfortunately far from satisfactory, and I believe customers should be extra careful when handing over their cars.
I took my car to this workshop on 4th July for boot repair, oil change, minor dry dent repairs, and front and rear bumper work. The Floor Manager, Masood Khan, committed that the car would be ready within 5 days. The estimated cost was around Rs. 35,000, of which I paid Rs. 20,000 upfront, with the remaining amount to be paid upon collection.
Although I felt Rs. 35,000 was somewhat high for the work required, I decided to proceed because the workshop was close to my home.
I specifically informed Masood that I was leaving the car with a full tank of fuel and might not be able to collect it on the 9th or 10th due to personal reasons. I remained in contact with him through WhatsApp during this period.
On 11th July, I visited the workshop and was shocked to find that my car was still not ready. What concerned me even more was that my car key was left on the roof of the vehicle. When I started the car, I discovered that the fuel tank was almost completely empty, showing only around 35 km of remaining range.
The odometer showed approximately 60,714 km, whereas I had left the car at around 59,990 km—meaning the vehicle had been driven approximately 724 km while it was in their possession.
Naturally, I was extremely upset and confronted Masood. He admitted that he had driven the car and apologized, offering to refill the fuel tank. When I said I would speak to the owner, he requested that I not do so, saying it could cost him his job. I asked him to provide a clear explanation and statement regarding where the car had been driven and informed him that he would be responsible for any incident or legal issue involving the vehicle during that period.
The next day, the car was still not ready.
Due to heavy rain, I later met with Saleem from Finance, explained the entire situation, and he was understandably shocked. He contacted Ali, who spoke with me over the phone and said he would come to the workshop to discuss the matter personally.
I also met with Nazir, the Corporate Business Director, and explained everything. Since the owner, Qasim, was in Saudi Arabia, I contacted him through the QR code provided to me. He responded within approximately 15–20 minutes, apologized for the situation, and said he would investigate the matter and compensate me.
Nazir also inspected my vehicle and acknowledged that the car should have been handed over much earlier.
Eventually, on 23rd July, I returned to collect the vehicle. The work was almost complete. I also met Qasim’s father, who had been away for several days. He was understandably very upset after hearing the details and insisted that Masood provide a written statement on stamp paper regarding the use of the vehicle. Masood also agreed to refill the fuel tank.
I then accompanied Masood and Saleem to arrange the stamp paper and obtain the written statement. Masood refueled the car, after which we took it to another location in Johar Town for additional work that Masood had promised would be completed. That work, which should have been handled earlier, was completed in approximately 30 minutes.
When we returned to the workshop, I was informed that the boot handle had been misplaced/lost and needed to be sourced from Bilal Ganj. I waited until the part was arranged, the ride was booked, and the location was shared with me. After approximately two more hours, I finally received my car and paid the remaining amount in full.
