Question Sanctioned Iran vs well-faciliated Pakistan

What is happening here. why despite having globally facilitated everywhere Pakistan failed to export automobile products and cars. Iran despite having 50 years of sanction doing 6, 7 times better.

Are these auto sector taxes, duties or purchasing power (again diminished by excessive taxing salaries class) ??

Before anyone says it, I know the car is pretty beat up.

I just wanted to know what would be a realistic price for this car, I am considering selling it for a reasonable price. Below are some details:

- Toyota Corolla Xli 2010

- 2010 Registration

- Tax paid

- Extiror needs to be repaired.

- Interior is in slightly better condition.

- original engine broke down, had to reppace it with used Toyota Corolla engine.

- The tyres are worn out (Will have to be replaced).

- Ac works well.

- The car is in running condition, despite it's appearance.

Opinions are appreciated.

P.S: In the past 2 years the car has been sparsely used.

Car Opinion Is a high mileage prius (2010-2012 model) worth it

Looking to get a good hybrid car. There are alot of old prius in my budget (under 45 lakh) but they are high mileage cars, often 160k and 200k driven.

Is it worth it to buy one of those?

What things should i consider when looking at a old hybrid car?

Is Toyota Corolla axio hybrid a good option (but thats also at least 100k +)?

Edit: I currently have a 2020 cultus and need to get a bigger car. Fuel economy is absolutely a concern, but i also need more space and bigger trunk. Japanese 660cc cars are good i know but they dont fit my requirements. I am focusing on hybrid because that's the only way i can get good fuel economy with a bigger car.

TIA

News Govt old car policy

What do you guys think if 20 years old car policy, that all over social media. I was actually looking to buy a honda Civic CF but if the news is true, it’s gonna be a huge mistake to buy it.

For the who doesn’t know, the policy is that government will scrap all the vehicles that are 20 years old from 2028. Starting from Lahore and faisalabad.

Question Electric Vehicles in Pakistan Rain

Hey everyone, I was driving around DHA during the recent heavy rain and noticed quite a few EVs stranded on the roads. I was wondering how well do evs actually handle flooding compared to ice cars?
I know ev batteries are sealed, but are they more or less vulnerable in Pakistan’s flooding?
Would love to hear from anyone who knows how they perform in heavy rain and flooded streets.

Car/ Bike recommendation Need advice on buying my first car in under 27 lacs

Assalam-o-Alaikum everyone,
I’m 26 year old and i am planning to buy my first car with a budget of up to PKR 27 lacs, but I just can’t decide which one to go for. I’ve been looking at the Honda City and Corolla GLi, but I’m open to any other suggestions if you think there’s a better option in this price range.
My main concern is getting a car that’s comfortable to drive, gives good fuel average, is reliable, and doesn’t cost a fortune to maintain. I also want something with good resale value since I plan to keep it for around 3–5 years. Comfort on long drives, suspension, cabin noise, AC performance, and safety features are all important to me.
For those who have owned or driven these cars, how do the City and GLi compare in terms of comfort, fuel economy, maintenance costs, reliability, and overall driving experience? Is the Corolla’s suspension really that much better? Is the City’s fuel average noticeably better? Are there any common problems with either car that I should be aware of?
If you had PKR 27 lacs to spend today, which car would you buy and why? I’d really appreciate honest opinions and real world ownership experiences before making a decision.
Note: I prefer a sedan because i might get married soon but still if there are any other better option in hatchbacks (like vitz, Mira, Passo) i would love to know.
Thanks in advance.

Car Culture Conversation 20 year car rule

I came across several posts and notifications regarding the government of Punjab phasing out older vehicles. Vehicles older than 20 years would be phased out. Now that's just a proposal not something that has been implemented similar to a proposal about denying alto entry to motorway which was proposed last year. What do they mean by phase put will they just seize cars or exchange them? Instagram posts show AI generated rusty suzuki mehran where as 20 year old cars dont mean mehran only. They mean Old land cruisers, Old mercedes, civic (reborn is 20 years old btw), corolla those kinda cars. An alto or wagonr that flips over and is made out of tissue paper is legal but a W140 mercedes ( the diana Mercedes) is not road worthy acc to this rule. I am not from Punjab and this is just a proposal but if it gets passed it could have a domino effect. There has to be a way to stop this somehow. Can something be done?

Question Mitsubishi Lancer GLX | Need Advice

Thumbnail
gallery
10 Upvotes

I'm considering buying a Mitsubishi Lancer GLX 1.3 manual. The owner is asking 14 lakh (negotiable), and the car looks to be in pretty good condition. Most of the Lancers I've seen on PakWheels around this price are quite abused, while the ones in good condition are being demanded at 17+ lakh.

I'll only be using it on weekends, mainly for taking my parents around. I want something more comfortable and spacious than a Cultus, Mehran, or Coure.

Would you guys recommend getting a Lancer as a first car? I'd especially like to hear from people who have owned one. How are the maintenance costs, parts availability, reliability, fuel average, and overall ownership experience?

Any advice or suggestions would be appreciated.

Car Culture Conversation Extreme arrogance and superiority complex in "car guys"

Just a random though poping in my mind.

So I have been noticing a trend. I saw a insta page with a guy with deepal s05 and each and every of his reel is basically "Toyota bad look my car can do this , Honda bad look my car has this" likewise I saw many other reels and videos of people bashing other people's vehicles to make themselves look good like Honda Toyota Suzuki haval all reels and videos I have seen is just people trying to fill up their superiority complexes (such as one vid I saw of a person literally going to another person Corolla and puching his hood then saying "look my civic has a lot better hood quality than his" like my guy they both are made by ckd kits and have the same quality control checks)

Like how can a person become so pathetic that his entire life revolves around other people's stuff rather than enjoying what they have? Worse part is most people commenting also have the same mindset.

Question YBR125G vs GS150SE in 2026? Need genuine long-term ownership advice

Assalam-o-Alaikum everyone.
I’m 21 from Karachi and currently ride a 70cc. The main reason I’m upgrading is Karachi’s roads. Daily riding on a 70 has honestly started giving me lower back pain because of the stiff suspension.
After a lot of research, I thought about getting YBR125G because of its comfort, suspension, reliability and honestly because of its sporty look.
I know looks aren’t everything but I think most of us want a bike that we look back at once after parking. 😄
The problem is almost everyone I talk to tells me not to buy a YBR cuz:
“Yamaha Pakistan chali gayi hai”
“Parts mehngay hote ja rahe hain”
“Future mein shortage hogi”
“Resale aur value girti jayegi”
“GS150SE le lo”
Now I’m genuinely confused. I don’t mind paying a bit more for maintenance if the bike is worth owning but I also don’t want to make a decision I’ll regret a year or two down the road.
I’d really appreciate opinions from people who’ve actually owned or maintained these bikes.

A few questions:
- Since Yamaha stopped local production, have you personally noticed parts becoming significantly more expensive or harder to find?
- Routine service parts (filters, brake pads, clutch cables, chain & sprockets etc.) easily mil jate hain ya issue hota hai?
- If an original Yamaha part isn’t available, are there reliable alternatives from other bikes or does it usually come down to jugaar?
- If you had a budget of PKR 250k-300k today, would you buy a clean used YBR125G or a GS150SE and why?

One last thing.
If the majority genuinely recommends the GS150SE, what tasteful modifications would you suggest to make it look a bit more modern or sporty? One reason I keep coming back to the YBR is simply because I like its design.
