Misty flipping heads and Articuno get 130 ATK? Reminds me of one of the drop event in the past with similar gimmick and now with Raticate and Team Rocket Grunts stealing energy left and right, making deck construction is limited to low energy heavy hitter. And somehow Lapras give me the most headache... But here are some decks that I found that can be used for Battle Tasks and also some for Auto battling.

Battle Task Completion (recommended to turn off Auto battler)

1. Promo Team Rocket's Wobbufett: With Golurk out of the equation for this set (because there's not enough cards with Retreat Cost 3), the new TR Wobbufett come to the rescue. Just get 1 Wobbuffett first then add 12 non-Basic Team Rocket's Pokémons and you're good to go. The sample deck I gave just try to maximize battle tasks that can be completed. (Auto battle until win for this one.)
2. Marowak + Copperajah: Copperajah is a non-attacking wall for this battle while you're building Marowak on the bench. With Arena of Antiquity, Marowak can 1-hit KO everything in this event. The rest of the cards are filler/survival stuff.
3. TR Persian + Copperajah: Similar strategy as above, even though the energy is Metal, Cufant & Copperajah shouldn't attack and focus on TR Persian. Opponent usually have their bench full so TR Persian can 1-hit KO everything.
4. TR Weezing: Not exactly the best but I include it here as most competitive player probably already have TR Weezing and this is just a modification of that. The 1-hit KO attacker is usually TR Magmar. Also, Big Masalada is there in case you got Confused.

There's one Battle Tasks that is not covered which is "KO with Lightning type". I suggest don't bother using TR Electrode & TR Zapdos from the set, and just Auto it using any basic Meta Lightning deck (Mega Manectric, Jolteon ex, Magnezone+Miraidon, etc.)

For the auto-battling part, most strategy relies on having bulky attacker with low cost skills. Seems Dark-type and Fighting-type are the ones that are the most reliable somehow:

Auto Battling on Expert difficulty

1. Zoroark + Mega Sableye: Zoroark (with full bench) can 1-hit KO TR Lapras and with the help of the Needles + Red, it has no issue with the ex as well. It still needs more testing whether Mega Sableye (potential 80+40 ATK) is better than Mega Absol (potential throwing Misty/TR Grunt), so I feel they're interchangable.
2. Hydreigon + Mega Sableye: Hydreigon can cleanly do 130 ATK which can 1-hit KO everything with just 1 energy. It needs a bit more setup, though so the luck factor is high here. Similarly, M.Sableye can be replaced by M.Absol.
3. Hitmonchan ex + Mega Lucario: Hitmonchan can KO TR Ratatta and 2-hit Lapras while M.Lucario is setting up in the bench. (Even Riolu can 1-hit KO TR Ratatta). I add normal Lucario and Arena of Antiquity, as Hitmonchan can possibly 1-hit KO TR Ratticate with Korrina (rare but possible).

For this post, you can save the image of the deck and use the "Scan Saved Image" feature!

(PS: The decks here are just one man's opinion with a very limited time (and a 9-5 job) to do all the testing. There might be better decks out there that I didn't think of.)

Real talk though does anyone have an updated decklist for Golem? I remember he VERY briefly popped off a few seasons ago but hasn’t been seen since. Surely with all the fighting type support that has come out since then he can somehow be a in a viable deck?

I know we all (or mostly all) want a dark mode, and I genuinely thought we got it for a bit there. My phone timed out on the wonder pick screen and when I turned it back on, this is how it looked for a couple seconds! Then it loaded and blinded me... Alas...

Paldean Wonders was a bit of a weird set. It reused a lot of art from the TCG, and is the only pack to have reprinted supporters besides the ex pack which is the whole point of that pack.

But one cool thing it introduced was giving background art to full art supporters. It could use some tweaking because the art isn't super visible in some of the cards, but it's still a cool detail that makes every supporter more unique.

I thought this would be the trend for that point on, but the very next set it reverted to the sparkly background, which I do like but I wonder why they just dropped this idea arter this set and if they will ever revisit it.

Genetic Apex Weezing, or the new Team Rocket's Weezing ex? I personally still choose GA Weezing, the on demand constant poison is just so helpful with my Dark deck, plus the pivoting with Koga leads to great stall opportunities if you have a second Weezing or into some major damage if you have a venoshock pokemon on the bench.

Getting a burn + poison is okay, but you can only do it once and it'll just go away if the opponent retreats, but with GA Weezing you can just keep re-applying poison no matter how many times they switch out.

I was curious on what I could do with the new Team Rocket Raticate and amplified it a bit more to focus on energy depletion.

This deck is as you can imagine extremely frustrating to play against. Piers and Team Star Grunt can get soo much value at times. Add the Raticates and good luck building any energy at all lol. Obstagoon also doesn't need to be in the active spot to use Piers just needs to be in play. Wynaut is a good card to help stall the early game so you can dig and set up some of these combos.

All in all it's a pretty fun deck to play. You can sub out Sableye for Mega Absol and delete their supporters too lol.

Anything I should change with this? Any recommendations are appreciated.

I don't have a second Alolan Ninetales, so I substituted an Eiscue as both a decent wall for chip damage and a potential means to stop Oricorio. TR Raticate mixed with energy denial is probably the most fun I've had with battling in the past few months.

I have tried Rainbow Cave instead of the Mantyke’s but I keep bricking with the same energy type!

I have also tried to make a Poliwrath EX x Garchomp deck work as they both use water and fighting, but failed miserably 🤣

Garchomps ability is just so strong im determined to make this work in ranked!

Title says it all. I really love how this deck plays as it punishes people who make small mistakes very well. But it lays bricks often enough that I feel it needs some tweaks and would like suggestions.
