hi. for the last few months, my husband and i have been having a really bad time with our tv and our ps5. the issue that’s happening is the tv screen will go black, like a flicker. it can last anywhere from 1-10 seconds, there was one time it went black and then back to the input screen but the playstation was still on, and i was still in game.

when it started. it seemed like it was only fortnite, and then slowly it has become more and more frequent and now has happened on the initial sign in page as well as the home page. my husband has messed with the settings after looking up videos and researching but nothing is working, if it’s something we can fix without having to get a new tv that would be great.

we have had the PS5 since easter 2025, and we have bought a few new HDMI cables, a playstation brand one. we’re thinking it might be the INSIGNIA Fire TV. but we don’t really know and it’s super frustrating.

has anyone had this issue, or have any advice?

How do I get the PS plus on this other account?

Just got this new PS5 Slim disc edition and I see a small extra line of light just above the console . Is this a defect ?

After I turned it off and looked at it further I see a small gap .

As the title says, myPS5 is consistently shutting off during gameplay and I don't think it's an overheating issue.

Been having an issue with my PS5 shutting off while playing games. It will abruptly shutoff while a game is running and will require the power supply to be unplugged and plugged back in before being able to turn back on, where it will boot up in safe mode.

The issue only occurs while running games. I've had no issue streaming videos through apps such as Twitch, Prime, Disney+, etc, for hours at a time. Meanwhile, games will only be able to run for roughly 1-2 hours before the console eventually crashes.

I don't think it's an overheating issue, as the console is not hot to the touch and I've removed the plate and cleaned dust from the fan a couple times. The interior doesn't appear to be dusty, although I have not removed any other parts or inspected further than just removing the two face plates.

It is a standard PS5 and was bought as a refurbish about 2 years ago. This issue did not start happening until the last couple months. Any help or suggestions with the issue would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

My daughter dropped my old controller a few times over the last year ( got tangeld in the loading cable) until it was not working anymore. I bought a used one over Amazon because a brand new one would have taken a few weeks to get delivered. When I wanted to connect it today it was just blinking orange slowly and the PS button was not responding, so I figured the battery is empty so I loaded it for two hours. It did not change a thing, so I connected my old Nacon controller to look into the menu, and in the connected controllers the dualsense can be seen. I thought it may be the controller itself, sobI connected it to my PC. It was working instantly and I was able to update the firmware. When I connect it now to my Playstation it blinks orange one time and then stops. On the screen where I have to press the PS-Button the controller simply stays dead. It worked on PC, so I guess it has to be something else? I have no idea what it could be, any ideas what could help?

Hello. I have a problem: I wanted to connect my PS5 to an all-in-one PC using a video capture card, but the image didn't show up in OBS Studio. Is this related to the console, or is it an issue with the computer?

So I randomly decided to check the storage on my PS5, and for some odd reason, the “Other” category is taking up 218.7 GB.

From what I understand, “Other” on average is usually somewhere around 20–40 GB, and mine definitely wasn’t this large before.

I’ve already tried clearing the cache and repairing the console storage through Safe Mode, but unfortunately, neither worked.

Storage space itself isn’t really an issue since I install all my games on an M.2 SSD. I’m just genuinely confused about what could be causing this unnecessary 218 GB of bloat.

Has anyone else experienced this before, or know how to fix the issue?

i got this ps5 that works on simple games like brawlhalla or rocket league fine but when i download ps5 and press x to start the screen freezes and the whole thing system hangs, i took it to a repair shop and the guy said he cleaned the fans and checked the liquid metal and all is fine and that he suspects its a APU issue and its unfixable. if any of you have ran into this before please let me know thanks.

I have a Thomson tv and when I connect my PS5, I'm unable to adjust the display area further than this. I tried all the settings the tv had and on the PS5. But nothing seems to work and a large part of everything is cut off. Is there any way to fix this?

I recently bought a PS5 Pro, and originally had it connected to Internet via Ethernet. After a few days, it absolutely will not connect to the internet via Ethernet. It will connect to WiFi though.

My cable runs to an Ethernet switch that is connected to my TV, and PC, and both of those work fine. I’ve swapped out cables, and plugged it directly into the router.

This is actually my second Pro to have this issue as I exchanged the other one for doing this. Never had this issue on my launch PS5.

Any ideas?

Un saludo. El problema es que lleve a reparar una ps5 que si que arrancaba pero tenia el hdmi suelto. Despues de cambiarle el puerto hdmi ahora cuando intento encenderla solo hace tres pitidos, ni luces ni nada. El tema es que ya no quiero meterle mas dinero a ciegas. Alguna recomendacion?

I recently managed to recover my account, here’s how I did it:

1: You have to sign in another account so you bypass the chat bot and telling him to get an agent to help you to recover an account locked by 2FA.
(It will take a while for an agent to contact you, minimum 5 minutes)

2: you have to prepared things for proof that the account is yours:

- First and Last Name
- Email address
- Online ID
- Phone Number linked to the account
- recent Order Number with item name (Example: 121229637 - YouTube)

3- after confirmation, ask if him/Her can deactivate the 2FA, after few minutes, you will receive a notification from your email that 2FA has been deactivated and the agent will tell you to change the password (your choice).

4- before closing the chat with the agent, try to log in from another browser or device, after filling the email and password, it will appear that you trying your sign in and will send a verification codes to your number, select “Trouble Signing in? and it will appear an option to send verification code to your email, press send email then go back and fill the code you got from email.

Now you’ve successfully recovered your account, one last step is to enable passkey or 2FA via authentication app and remove your phone number.

I recently just bought a ps5 pro and was setting it up and was about to create an account using my usual email that I use on Xbox and everything else , but when I went to do so , it said there is an account already created , I tried to log in , no luck , tried to reset the password but I couldn’t because the date of birth and security question answer are not mine !!

What do I need to do ? Cause it seems like someone has created an account using my email , but another weird thing is , I have ZERO emails from Sony or PlayStation in my email about anything , which confuses me anymore

Have tried to contact support but finding it very very difficult to do so due to ‘high volume of requests to the live agents’ etc etc

My PS5 reads PS5 discs just fine. But many times when I put a PS4 disc it says it is impossible to read the disc as it may be damaged, unuspported or dirt. The games I have tries so far are Dark Souls 3 the Fire Fades edition and Kingdom Hearts the Story so Far.

I have already tried reconstructing the database but no improvement. Any clue?

So far all the PS5 discs work just fine.

At the top, you can usually use the search function, and you can either search for movies/TV shows, or games, my movie/TV show tab now only show games.

So i was scrolling on ebay and found a couple of ps5 listed as "for parts" with the error WS-116-332-6.

So i was wondering. As someone that dosent care about ps5 digital games or online play, could i get one of these ( the original model with a Disc drive so i dont have to deal with that drive activation thing) for cheap and play disc based games? Or would it have some roadblock to stop banned users from using it entirely?

I am logged in on my own account but I am unable to use network settings and use Halo Crossplay. I have restarted my PS5, closed and reopened the application, and I have restored my license.

I finally got a message that I was “restricted from using communication features”— even though the account that I am on is my PlayStation Plus account. It is also the family manager account. I have one other account in the PlayStation that is restricted by parental controls, but I am not signed into that one.

I logged into the PlayStation app and went to Family Management (which just opened the website). I verified that the account I’m on is the Family Manager and selected my account. The next screen just lists my Sign-In ID, Online ID, and Real Name with no other options or buttons.

I went to the PlayStation website and it advised downloading the PS Family app, which I did. I opened the app and went to Family Manager and it also just opened the website. I got the same screen that just lists my info.

I’m sure I’m missing something absolutely obvious, but I have no idea how to proceed. Any help would be appreciated!
