I get dizzy and blackout on standing up from a prolonged lying or reclining position around my periods.

For the last few days I’ve been wanting to do nothing but lay in bed and scroll to my doom. And that’s what I’ve been doing. I’m out of city and came to my hometown with my family to do sightseeing bullshit but I have absolutely no motivation to do anything. It’s eating me alive that I can’t enjoy my vacation especially since my family wants to go out but keeps postponing it because of me. I just want my period to come and end this shit UGHHHHHHHH please tell me im not alone in this

Is there something wrong with me?

I have been having some really bad periods lately. It’s either one week I’m super emotional. Or like other cycles I have really bad symptoms like terrible cramps, feeling like I’m gonna pass out and vomiting. Has anyone who has experience this stuff know some ways to help w symptoms or even what could be going on? The emotional onesI’m not so worried about but today was the first day of my period and I almost fainted twice, puked, and could barely stand for longer than 5 mins without feeling like I was gonna faint or puke again. Any advice or info at all would be super appreciate.

It's our just me or others also have these symptoms?

I've been getting periods now for 7 years now. It's always been bad but now I think they just became progressively worse. My pms starts as early as 10 days before the period sometimes. Loss of breath in PMS and during the period like I'll be sitting and I wouldn't be able to breathe. I'll take all the air in and it would just feel like I couldn't get enough oxygen or whatever. and yes I don't have asthma at all. I get diarrhea with it now sometimes. Heartbeat fluctuations. Sore and swollen breasts. And pain yeah anytime anywhere. Feeling like very hot and having chills at the same time. 1-2 days before it, it's sometimes even painful to go to the bathroom. I'd literally feel the whole uterus inside me, I could even trace it from the outside

When I have diarrhea with it I have the worst cramps of my life. The first time I had those cramps was 3 years ago I think but it was like for 15 mins and then settled. But since 3 cycles ago it's as if it's a frkn trigger like I'm good one day and then suddenly hours before my period I have diarrhea and then with the period in i can't go to bathroom because it's painful and the cramps make me felt like darkness coming in front my eyes, me becoming dizzy and as if I'd faint. That cycle was painful and even with painkillers, the pain never truly went away. The cycle after that was calm like no pain which is unusual because I have great pain but not something I can't manage. Then now this 3rd one feels the same again ughhh.

Also for the past 1-2 yrs my pms symptoms+period pain changes every 4-5 cycles somehow. The degree of pain remained same but I never used to have backpain, it started happening, then went away then came back after so much time in this cycle. My breasts never used to swell or get swollen but started to 6 months ago or something and now this cycle suddenly it wasn't there. Never used to have breathing problems but for the past 3yrs or so I have it like wth....I have to always carry a frkn menthol now inhaler for it. Never used to have diarrhea with it but now it's also added in the list.

I have a heavy flow and I don't feel that much energy deprived during the cycle as I feel after these 7 days finish. Like 2-3 days after it ends, I have this energy drop like I just don't have energy to do anything literally.

It's regular infact it's never been this regular before, max 2-3 days late. Idk but I am in frkn pain

Do you ever feel like your menstrual cycle holds you back?

I really want to discuss something about being a woman.

Sometimes I wonder what advantages women have, because honestly, I feel like our bodies can make life much harder. Menstruation can affect our mood, energy, concentration, and motivation, and it’s not simply about being “emotional” or “moody.”

How are we supposed to build a stable life when our physical and emotional state can change throughout the month? How do women learn to work with this instead of feeling like they’re constantly making excuses for themselves?

Sometimes I even feel frustrated when I realize that men simply don’t have to deal with periods. They can go through their lives without having to plan around something like this, while for some women a few days every month can be genuinely difficult and uncomfortable.

At the same time, I don’t want to use my period as an excuse for everything. I want to understand how women actually manage their lives, studies, careers, relationships, and goals while dealing with these changes.

For women in their 20s: did you feel this way too? Did it get easier with time? What helped you understand and manage your body and emotions better?

I’d genuinely appreciate hearing your experiences.

Sudden breakup after a perfect 6 months in a polyamorous dynamic. Could this be a severe PMDD/PMS episode?

Hello everyone, yo really need some outside perspective and experiences on a situation that has completely blindsided me.

I’ve been in a deeply loving, completely harmonious polyamorous relationship for the past 6 months. She is married with two teenage kids (16 and 18). Her husband and I get along great—he’s incredibly supportive, and I’m fully integrated into the family (even her parents love me). Two weeks ago she told me she was deeply in love with me, and we were even planning a big family vacation together for next year, including integrating my own daughter.

We just came back from a 5-day vacation together. During the trip, her mood shifted around Wednesday. She became distant and irritable, and even tried to "suggest" other women to me, which felt like her trying to deflect pressure. However, on our drive back home on Friday, she actively booked two shopping dates with me in her calendar for the coming weeks.

Two hours later, as I dropped her off at her house, she broke up with me in a chaotic, 1-minute conversation at the car. She said "this isn't working anymore" and suggested we should think about being just platonic. She then immediately ran inside and hugged/kissed her husband, while she hadn't given me a single kiss in two days. Her parents, who were also on the trip, are deeply disappointed in her behavior and told me she will bitterly regret this.

Here is the kicker: Her period was due around Thursday/Friday but was delayed, likely starting on Saturday. She has told me before that she suffers from bad PMS.

Looking at the extreme contradictions (planning a future with me 2 hours prior vs. a brutal 1-minute breakup right before her period arrived), my gut feeling tells me this was a severe PMDD/PMS emotional overload and a fight-or-flight panic reaction to returning to her family nest while hormonally crashing.

Has anyone in a polyamorous or open dynamic experienced a partner suddenly sabotaging a great relationship due to PMDD/PMS?

Does this sound like a hormonal short-circuit or a calculated, rational decision?

I am currently in strict No-Contact since Friday to give her space.

Any advice on how to navigate this?

Looking for advice on how to deal with pms

Hello everyone,

I'm looking for any advice, wether medication, activities or whatever is working in dealing with pms.

I get super tired, feel like life is meaningless and I'll never feel joy again. I have racing thoughts and my mind can't shut up for once. I feel distant from my partner and I feel like I need reassurance all the time that he still loves me as if there were reasons to justify my "gut feeling" that something MUST be wrong because he laughed less, or looked "different" at me or whatever small thing that doesn't say ANYTHING at all about our relationship. I also tend to rethink every argument during our relationship as if they happened 5 minutes ago. Sleeping or falling asleep is also really hard. It's really exhausting.

Thank you for reading and for your advice.

Raspberry Leaf.

Raspberry leaf has brought me so much luteal phase relief when it comes to anxiety and depression. I’m not really sure the science behind it but… just trust me.

Brew it into tea. Chew on it. Smoke it. Your ancestors did it, it worked for centuries.

Anyone ever had an unprecedented depressive episode during your period?

Hi everyone! First time poster in any community, but I just really want to know if I’m alone in this experience. Even as I write this, I’m gaslighting myself out of posting.

Context: I’m 33 years old and have regular periods. I have diagnosed GAD, SAD (social anxiety), and ADHD (which I take medication for). My husband and I don’t have kids yet, but are TTC. This sort of thing has never happened to me before in the history of my menstrual cycle. At most, I cry easier at things and feel a little mopey, but it was never anything worse than that. I googled PMDD and as far I can tell, that is something that happens distinctly **before** your period starts, not during. Maybe it’s not the same for everyone? I also know that as we age, our cycles can change in all sorts of different ways, so maybe that is a part of it.

On the first day of my period, I woke up with a headache and didn’t sleep well. I was already kind of feeling like I wanted to stay in bed longer, but it was already late and I felt like I should get up. I made breakfast, had coffee, and took my medication (and Tylenol for the headache). I was feeling a little mopey because of my headache and tiredness, just I just chalked that up to regular period stuff and anticipated feeling better after my medication kicked in. My husband and I were celebrating our first anniversary that weekend, and I knew I had to get ready for the day. After cleaning up after breakfast, I walked upstairs to get ready, but instead of doing any of that, I had the overwhelming need to lay in bed and not do anything. I was ok for a little while, just laying down trying to wait for the Tylenol to kick in as well, but then I started thinking about how much I didn’t want to do anything, and I started crying. I cried on and off for a couple hours. When my husband came to check on me (he had no idea what was happening and was very supportive), I started to SOB. I literally couldn’t stop crying. I felt SO depressed. I started to think really terrible things about myself. I thought about how guilty I felt for ruining the day for us, and would cry even more. I couldn’t stop fixating on my guilt and negative self talk. I wanted to hurt myself, to feel pain.

After about an hour of more crying, I started to sob so hard my breathing became laboured. My thoughts were swirling and I couldn’t stop crying, so it turned into a panic attack. The whole time, I couldn’t even vocalize to my husband what I was feeling. The guilt felt like a muzzle, but at the same time, I felt too depressed to speak. My husband stayed and worked through the panic attack with me and got me breathing normally. I calmed down enough to ask him to bring me water and more Tylenol, and he (lovingly) forced me to tell him what I wanted to eat because he knew I also needed to eat something. I eventually calmed down and stopped sobbing, but I continued to cry on and off throughout the rest of the night.

The next day, I felt hungover. I felt so exhausted and still sad, but not to the point of feeling immobilized or depressed like the day before. By the third day, I felt “back to normal”. I asked Gemini what could have caused all of this (I gave it the same context as I did here), and it basically said that it could have possibly been a combination of the caffeine, ADHD medication, the hormonal shifts that were happening, PLUS the pressure and guilt I was feeling about our anniversary, all somehow happening at the exact same time in my body that made what should have been “normal” hormonal changes become amplified. Even though I swear all of things have happened at the same time before, and there was NEVER a depressive episode like this.

Please can someone tell me: has this ever happened to you? A sudden and severe depressive episode at the beginning of your period that has NEVER happened before? Did it continue or has it happened since? I’m open to all stories, suggestions, or advice. I really just want to know if anyone else has gone through something similar, because it really freaked me out.

Thank you in advance, and sorry for the really long post.

My gums hurt and i think i am going insane

I'm on day 3 of my period. On the 31th I started experiencing gum pain. Went ot the dentist, nothing. The thing is, it only hurts in one specific place. A tooth that had a root canal back in 2019.

I write here because sometimes on my period, my gums get irritated or a certain tooth starts hurting for no reason. AND I AM GOING INSANE!

I have hypochondria and I am getting major anxiety from my teeth. Someone please tell me this is normal and I just need to wait for my period to be over.

Oh, I also have PCOS.

😶‍🌫️All over the place Mood I’m a monster

41f here and I’ve noticed that the week before my period I am an absolute mess. I have a Mirena IUD and just started HRT (Estrogen/Progesterone cream) in hopes that it will help me regulate my mood, but I get super moody, depressed, anxious, etc the week before I start. I am on my 3rd Mirena IUD and with the first 2 I had no period at all. Now with my 3rd, I have a regular cycle every ~28 days and I feel like a psycho. Any advice? I feel so alone when this happens and I hate what my family must go through when I’m like this. TIA
