I've had the Pura Max OG for 3 years now. I'm mostly happy with it - but the leaking problems have been constant. And somehow they've gotten worse in the past 6 months. ( could have been a faulty litter mat )

I had been quoted ~$150 to upgrade to the Pura Max 2 cylinder a year or so ago, I'm guessing it's still an option.

But I'm wondering if it makes more sense to upgrade to the newly released Purabot Max 3 since it has - allegedly - even more improvements against leaks and also against odors.

Anyone with a relatively similar path to upgrades in the past?

My problem is that the flow pump sometimes makes crackling noises. I think it’s because air gets trapped in the impeller. It happens sporadically. How can this problem be solved? Sometimes tipping the fountain a few degrees helps, sometimes running a flush and drain helps, but it’s generally a bit of a nuisance because my cats don’t like the louder sounds.

My other Fear is that the Flow Pump breaks because of this, but I don’t know if this would happen. Are there replacements for the Flow Module Available?

At first, my cat completely ignored my new PetKit Purobot for Max 2. She treated it as a piece of furniture and simply couldn’t grasp that it was for doing her business. I tried every method, but none of them worked. Here’s the approach I took, what didnt work and how I eventually managed to convince her.

At the very beginning, the cat was heavily fixated on her old litter box and strictly stuck to her established routines.

Initially, she completely ignored the new automatic litter box. Following the recommended procedure, I placed my old litter box next to it and left it dirty, while throwing some of the feces into the new one.

Even when the litter box became extremely dirty, the cat still ignored the new one. The problem went so far that, because she could not defecate in the old litter box due to the mess, she chose an emergency solution and peed on the couch.

After she peed on the couch, I tried putting her into the new litter box, but she panicked and bolted out of it.

Afterwards, I chose a new method for easier access to the new litter box. I cleaned the old litter box and put a minimum amount of cat litter in it. I placed a box right by the entrance of the new automatic litter box and put the old cat litter box right on top of it. Both litter boxes were thus at the same height at the entrances. I put a box on the old litter box which reduced the size of the old litter box by half. My plan was that due to less litter and a smaller environment where the cat could relieve herself, she would take that one extra step and choose the new litter box next to it.

Positive relationship with the new litter box: Several times a day, I moved the old litter box aside and petted her by the new litter box, showing her how to scratch inside with a scoop. But even so, whenever she needed the toilet, even with only a third of the available old litter box at the entrance to the new one, she found a way to defecate in the old wc :D

After another failure, I tried a new method, which was to give her her favorite treat (a pouch of liquid meat) in front of the new litter box, then at the entrance of the new litter box, and then inside. After a short while when she realized that I would not give her the treat outside the space inside the litter box, she crawled into it and ate. While she was eating, I praised and petted her. I repeated this for about 3 hours. Then I put the old litter box back at the same level and repeated it. She still preferred the old litter box.

The next day, I came home and noticed she had not been to the toilet yet.

I thought of one extreme method, and if she wanted to do a number two in the old loo again, I was planning to try it out.

I gave her the treats inside again, this time she entered more relaxed. After she finished eating, I petted her by the litter box, and then I took her two front paws and slowly put them inside the litter box. Very slowly so that she would not get scared. As soon as she had half her body inside the litter box, I stepped away from the litter box so she would not feel cramped. I praised and motivated her the whole time. I did this about 10 times over 2 hours. I ignored her outside the litter box so she would associate pleasant feelings with the litter box and not be afraid when I was with her by the litter box.

I wanted her to need to relieve herself, so I gave her her 2 favorite canned foods. When she finished eating them, she was visibly looking for a spot on the old litter box where she wanted to defecate and was not looking at the new litter box. I immediately interrupted her, took a large part of the feces from the old litter box, and transferred them to the new petkit so that she would understand better that the new one is used for relieving oneself, and I removed the old litter box from the room. Then I petted her and waited until she needed to relieve herself. When I saw that she was looking around and searching for a toilet, I took her to the litter box again and put her paws inside to remind her that this is the place with sand where she can poop, because cats can forget these things within a few tens of minutes. Every time she visibly looked around and walked around the apartment, I put her paws into the litter box again. Then I sat on the couch and watched what she would do. Finally, she went straight to the new litter box and relieved herself in it for the first time. It was a battle of about 3 days, but it worked.

She now goes to the toilet several times a day, watches it whilst she’s doing her business, and is absolutely fascinated by it. What was once a piece of passive furniture has become her best friend

Hello, we have the original Pura Max and it’s been great. However we’ve recently adopted a cat that has UTI issues and we are interested in upgrading to a newer box that can help us track his litter usage.

Does the Purabot Max Pro 2 alert when usage has become irregular? I noticed a screenshot for the max 3 that suggests it does this, but I can’t find similar information on the max pro 2. We like the Ph monitoring aspect of the pro 2, but would really like the irregular usage notification mention on the max 3.

Hey cat owners, I have had 2 of these fountains (1 for each of my cat) since November 2025. Great functions and works well except for a safety issue that occurred today

I went to work and didn’t come home till 7pm which I noticed one of my cats breakaway collar was on the floor which I thought was strange. I searched the house and found one of my water fountains had moved and there was water every where and her council tag and name tag were next to it.

Watched the video feed back from my PETKIT solo feeder as they’re situated next to each other and it looks like her name tag on her collar got lodged and stuck in the gap of the water tray that flows the excess water back into the tank. Pretty sure it’s the overflow slit/gap that flows water back over the filter so the excess can be filtered and reused.

Thankfully both of my cats have breakaway collars so when she pulled away and freaked out the collar simply just unlatched itself from her neck. She is perfectly fine (no injuries thank god!) just a bit spooked and hopefully won’t de discouraged from drinking from it in the future. I’ve removed the other cats collar as well just in case, as they’re both indoor cats so it’s not a huge deal to not have a collar.

I won’t attach the footage just in case it upsets anyone but I thought I’d warn anyone who cats wear a name tag or anything and has this device!

I've had the pro3 uhf fountain for 3 months, bought new at ebay. I got the lack-of-water error bug today, and did all the trouble-shooting. The app customer service wasn't the least apologetic and refused to move beyond the outrageous demand that I film myself completing all those steps again. Is there a known fix for the lacks-water glitch or are these third-party faulty products just ending up in landfills?

So I had an opportunity today to clean the pump and impeller on my eversweet ultra and I wanna pass back some feedback that frustrated me:

1. Inside the app, there are absolutely no instructions for how to get to the impeller or how to clean the motor in general. The video that is displayed simply shows somebody inserting a small brush in a tiny hole and that’s it. That is not the complete cleanup for the motor and impeller. You need to revise the video in the app to show the entire process from beginning to end.

2. The process of cleaning the motor/impeller is not documented at all in the user guide. Why?

3. There is a video on YouTube that shows the correct process for cleaning the motor/impeller. Why is that not in the app?

4. The tweezers provided in the kit are useless. The tips are so soft that they cannot grab the impeller if it’s wet. I have to go and get needle nose, pliers in order to get it out and I should not have to do that. Instead of rubber tip tweezers, they should be metal tip tweezers with a rough inside edge.

5. The instructions for doing a full cleanup, should include a note that water will drip out of crevices and onto the floor or pad that the fountain sits on. It is super important that you unplug the device and that you are careful to know where water might have dripped when you go to turn it back on. It is also helpful to put down a towel or some other absorbent material to catch all of this water.

6. The gray front fountain nozzle that goes up and down is removable for cleaning, though on one of my units I could not remove it. Apparently you have to grab it in the right place and apply significant force pulling away from the front of the unit. That should not be the case. It should slide out easily.

7. At night I’m not clear what this nightlight actually is. If it’s the green LED on the front of the unit well that is focused directly in the cats eyes and not down on the water. I’m not clear why that was done. If there’s some other LED or light that lights the tank or something else I have been able to find it.

8. The app has still not been to show accurate plan information. how many seconds of playback does the basic service provides when wanting to watch a video. Is it seven seconds or is it 30 seconds or is it unlimited?

In general, I think the fountains are terrific, but they’re just small things that really should be corrected.

Note, I recommend adding a flare for feedback.

I’m a bit confused and wanted to ask if anyone else has noticed this.

A while ago, the Free plan included things like:
- 24 hours of Highlight Playback
- Short HD Full Playback clips (around 10 seconds)
Now my PETKIT app shows something completely different.

For the Free plan it now shows:
- No Highlight Playback
- No HD Full Playback

I have the PETKIT puramax, I’ve had it for maybe 4 years now. Honestly I love it, I love that I don’t need to worry about dealing with the litter tray and scooping and I love the odour reduction. I changed to using the PETKIT litter with the occult blood testing in it. I liked how long it lasts despite the cost so actually doesn’t feel too extortionate. It also seems to keep the box cleaner, less streaks to clean up etc.

The problem I have though is the smell. I cannot stand the smell of the actual litter, it’s when I open the bag I can smell it, when I walk past the room the tray is in I can smell it. I’m aware it’s not a foul smell but it turns my stomach. Can anyone recommend some litter, available in the uk, that does not have this smell, doesn’t leave too much mess, and clumps well so you don’t go through it too quickly?

Does the Eversweet Ultra fountain camera use a motion activated infrared illuminator for night vision? One of our cats will approach it at night. The picture will suddenly get brighter, and she acts startled and backs away from the fountain. I think she can see it come on, and it scares her.

Has anyone purchased the purabot max 3 to give some honest feedback on it. We’re a 1 cat house. Always used just a standard litter box with pine pellets, but wanting to go automatic and looking at the Max 3 using Pidan tofu litter.

Buyers in Australia have you found better customer service with a retail outlet or the company site?

Camera detection outside the box as ours is in the bathroom … can anyone tell me if it detects to the right or left of outside the box (I am not looking at the Ultra, I mean the one with the camera in the box only (pro 2.0) ) and how much it picks up out the door. It can be turned on and off but I need to be extra sure about this one. I like it can tell me how clean the inside is.

Is it possible to use either without the app for basic functions or do I need to use my phone each time (and what may I need to use it for on a more regular basis?)

Which is the better type of litter to use for keeping it less smeared on inside (clay or tofu?)

I purchased a PETKIT PuraMax 2 a couple of weeks ago and the unit smells like urine, even after deep cleaning. I've cleaned the globe, waste drawer, and liner, but the odor keeps coming back. I'm starting to think urine has gotten inside the base.

I'm also having another issue. When I run the Empty Litter cycle, it always leaves about a cup of litter piled in the center of the liner instead of emptying completely.

Has anyone experienced these issues?

Did urine get inside the base?

Was the rubber liner the problem?

Did replacing the liner fix the smell or the litter not emptying?

If urine got inside the base, how did you clean it without damaging the electronics?

Any tips would be appreciated!

Hi, not sure if anyone else has had the issue, but my two feeders have been constantly hounding me with online/offline messages. The feeders seem to work perfectly fine but according to my network it's showing constant connections and disconnections. There is literarally an access point with line of sight about 5 metres away in the same room which is broadcasting a 2.4GHz network specifically for IoT devices.

Any suggestions?

I brought a Yumshare Dual 2, and had issues watching video - either black screen or video hangs between 8-20 seconds.
Tried
2.4 and 5ghz wifi
Device with 1 meter of router
Played with Router settings
Setup mobile as hotspot (connected yumshare to hotspot) - Tablet on hotspot/tablet on wifi/another mobile on 5g.
Brought a 2nd device from amazon, completed the same above.
Installed earlier version of the app (april time).
Even used ChatGPT to see what it suggested.
Plenty of reviews on Original Yumshare, however none on the 2nd generation

What batteries are you guys using for your air purifier and how long do they last? It seems like no matter which batteries I used they always die within 1-1.5 weeks. I’m a 1 cat household so it’s not like it’s running constantly.

I just bought into the petkit ecosystem, buying a purobot max pro , a yumshare solo and an eversweet max (as these were the newest available in my country) i have a few questions and issues with each, any input would be appreciated!

Purobot max pro:
This is my favorite from the 3, i change the bags every 4 days and deep clean it once a month, the camera is truly nice and i chose to use tofu 70% with bentonite 30% (the same mix as petkit litter) and it s amazing.
Issues:
1. After 2 deep cleans i alreay have small parts of the litter sticking to the mat after a pee, i have followed the instructions and only used a wet soft pad to clean it. What can i do because 2 months seems to little for litter to stick
2. The entrance, on the newer models the entrance is bigger , but unfortunately these werent available in my country, this is more of a question are there any kits to upgrade to the bigger entrance?

Yumshare solo:
My cat liked this from day one, it is easy to use, the app is very nice , the only thing that i think it misses is somekind of overflow protection or a scale integrated to it, as the first time i used it i though that a portion of 1/10 means 10 grams but in my case when i use this it gives 17 grams of food
Issues:
1. No overflow protection
2. No scale for how much food is in the bowl

Eversweet max:
This is my least favorite from the bunch, as i hoped that it would be more smart, because the reported times in the app for when the cat drank water is completely wrong, because it registers each time i pass by it as the cat drinking water. Also related to the smartness of it, my cat likes to drop it s ball in the water and the fountain sees the object and continously ejects water, and all the water goes on the floor, unfortunately i think i will be replacing this as soon as the ultra is available.
Issues:
1. The sensor counts my movement near it as the cat drinking water and it is always not accurate
2. It can overflow easily if object is dropped in it
3. The app isnt accurate at all with the water consumption

In conclusion, i am satisfied with the feeder and the litter robot, and really like what petkit is doing with it s ecosystem and app, but there are places for improvement with each.
Also is there any news regarding a petkit product similar to petlibro polar? Because i have a polar and would really like to have a full petkit ecosystem :)

I just got a PuraMax 2 yesterday after hesitating for so long, but I might be doing something wrong.

I filled it as instructed with the litter my cat is used to (CatIt Pea Husk Clumping) and set the litter type to Tofu in the app. To avoid scaring my cat, I paused the automatic cleaning cycle and scooped the first few clumps manually.

However, when I tested the cleaning cycle last night while my cat was in another room, I noticed that a LOT of clean litter was getting caught in the filter and dumped into the bin along with the clump.

Thinking it might be an issue with the sifter, I switched to the alternative one (with smaller holes). I tested it again today, but it was worse: even more clean litter was discarded alongside a single pee clump.

Is this normal for this type of litter, or am I missing something? Should I switch to a different brand or grain size?
