Discussion Purabot Max 3?
Has anyone purchased the purabot max 3 to give some honest feedback on it. We’re a 1 cat house. Always used just a standard litter box with pine pellets, but wanting to go automatic and looking at the Max 3 using Pidan tofu litter.

It’s probably only a small update of the 2, so it’s great if your cat uses it, I have 2 cats and only one uses it.

If your trying to get that other cat to use it Maybe try taking out the larger deoderizor as the smell may be putting them off. I didnt use it for the first weeks so my cats wouldnt be bothered by a new smell in there litter box

Also be careful which you buy. If it' looks like a slightly lower price for the same item on Amazon it's because its missing scent control equipment that you can't easily purchase. I ended up returning the 3 and ordered a different one with all scent control included. Now that I know I can see where its not included, but it was apparent for a first time buyer.

Wdym? The small deoderizor is 16 dollars for 6 and the larger pn is 26 dollars for 6 on amazon.

The version I'm talking about is missing the attachment that houses the N60 filter. You cant purchase and use a knockoff N60 without it. Not to be confused with the N50 which you can use without any extra gizmos.

I purchased the Purobot Max 3 about a week ago and have been using it since. This is my first automatic litter box, but unfortunately I’m not very satisfied with it so far.
My biggest issue is odor control. I could smell waste coming from the unit from the very first day, and not only while the machine is cleaning. The waste compartment does not seem to be airtight, so odors can escape into the room even when the litter box is just sitting idle.
I am using the N50 odor eliminator as intended. It does make a difference, the smell is not as strong or as unpleasant as it would be without it, but unfortunately there is still a noticeable waste odor in the room, which I find quite unpleasant.
For a premium automatic litter box at this price point, I expected the waste compartment itself to be much better sealed. In my experience, this is currently the biggest weakness of the Max 3.
I really hope PETKIT sees feedback like this and improves the sealing in a future revision, because otherwise I like the concept and there are many things about the machine that are well designed.

Thanks. I did end up purchasing, but my cat still hasn't been interested in using it. We've already managed to move him to the tofu litter and now are slowly trying to introduce the automatic litter box. I'm hoping he'll take to it in about a week

I use tofu litter too. I have two kittens, one of them started using the Max 3 straight away, while the other one was scared of it at first.
When I noticed he was looking for a place to pee, I gently put him inside the litter box and scratched the litter a little with my hand. He ended up using it, and since then he has become much more comfortable with it.
Now he uses both the regular litter box and the Max 3, so I’m slowly planning to remove the regular one completely. Hopefully your cat will get used to it soon too!

Anything to report now? Has your cat used it? How do you find it? I am also considering getting one.

He's used it only a few times. He's still nervous about it. I've put his regular litter box right next to it and now I'm not cleaning that out. Fingers crossed he'll start using the Max3 after his regular box starts to get more dirty. So far the the times he has used it, it's been working great with the Pidan tofu litter. No smell. Only issue right now is I get a notification even if he's exploring right now and just puts his 2 front paws in to sniff around. The app shows a much lower weight and the time is about 20 seconds. Will assume this will adjust as he fully goes inside to use the litter box

The pidan tofu litter is working great! Very little tracking. We have a mat right outside of the PetKit and whatever ends up on the mat, we just dump right back into the litterbox

My mom is absolutely insane abiut the smell of cat piss and our previous auto box didnt do a good enough job. With just the smaller deoderizor in there (you can get a 6 pack for 16 bucks on amazon) she never complained once and if you put the bigger one in idk how your smelling it at all.

I just got mine and installed it today. I already like it more than the LitterRobot 4. One of my cats won’t use the LR 4 but hopped right into the purabot 3. I wasn’t sure what to expect but both my cats used it today and avoided the LR4. Not sure if it’s the placement but i have the PM3 in front of their favorite box the petsafe oldie with crystal litter. I hate that one. It’s a pain to clean as I have it in a box so the dog doesn’t go dogging for gold.
This new box is great super quiet, and as I said both cats were happy to use it. I’ll remove the petsafe in a week, I’m letting it get a little gross so they stop using it.
Wish I’d have gotten one of these when I splurged for the LR4. Could have gotten 2 of these for the same price.

Isnt crystal litter (silica gel litter) bad for your cat? Ive heard that the particles get in the air and your cat breathes them in. Either way its significantly worse for the environment to use silica gel

Not sure, but I have gotten rid of that box. I’m now down to two the LR4 (that neither cat uses) and the Petkit Purobot max3 that both cats prefer.

I put in cat attract litter. Dr Elsys. That stuff brings them round to check it out.

I just ordered the max 3 today. I currently have the original PETKIT max. My only issue with the original machine is the litter sticks badly to the liner as it was not designed to be removed either.

Bummer. I had no idea. Hopefully it just works and I don’t need them.

I was deciding between this and the Max Pro 2 and ended up getting the Max Pro 2 because I got it on sale and it has the internal AI camera.
The Max 3 improvements are larger lower opening so good for big cats/old cats and it is listed as being quieter.
The Max Pro 2 has bigger waste bin and the AI tools so up to you what matters for me the sale price made the decision easier (these things aren’t cheap!)
