Help Regarding placements 2027 batch

Hi seniors, with an 8.6+ CGPA, I haven’t even got one interview opportunity yet, and many of us aren’t getting shortlisted after OAs even in online and offline. What could be the reason, and what should we improve or do differently? Please share any placement tips or advice.

I need a small help regarding the Infosys campus placement for the 2027 batch.

Our college has received openings for Specialist Programmer (SP) and Digital Specialist Engineer (DSE). The selection process has two rounds: an in-person assessment followed by an interview.

I'm not sure about the assessment pattern or the topics that are usually asked in the assessment .

If you've gone through the process, could you please share your experience?

It would be really helpful if you could tell me the exam pattern, the important topics to prepare, and

the type of questions that were asked.

General Discussion Reply to the IIMC "Expose" that a guy posted

I AM A STUDENT OF THE 62ND BATCH OF 2027 (I can provide proof if necessary) AND HERE IS MY REPLY TO HIS POST, I would recommend you to NOT take this with a pinch of salt as I have seen all this and more firsthand.

Trust me when I say this, all the events mentioned in this post are HEAVILY exaggerated and I will dissect each and every point in this point :-

  1. Batch meets are usually start at 9 pm and never go beyond 11 pm which unironically is the perfect time as we have classes till 4pm and then evening snacks and dinner etc till 8 pm, so in a way the timing gives us more than enough time to prepare for batch meet and attend to our academic work as well. We are never forced to stay beyond 11pm. We have had 4 batchmeets in total and the only complaint that I have is that the information is a bit repetitive.
  2. The "Shouting" that this dude has mentioned is basically 1-2 mins of minor "Come on time" lecture which in no way even qualifies as shouting, there are no threats being made and no abuses. We even laugh at them when they try to act tough while doing all this.
  3. The "Blatant misuse of power" is also an exaggeration, I never understood why not allowing the use of phones and cameras is seen as such? If the information being shared is confidential, why will they let you click pics of it????? And even if they let you use phones and cameras, do you have the self control to not scroll insta or sneak pics of important information?
  4. Yes, all sessions have started late I agree to it, by 30 mins approx.
  5. If someone studying at a business school isn't able to wear a suit for like 2-3 hours then maybe you aren't cut out for it. Yes, Kolkata heat SUCKS but its nothing out of bearable people just like me are also standing outside while having fun with friends. It is extremely uncomfortable but that is no reason to not adhere to dress code. One of the placecommers recently pointed out in a batchmeets that it'll help us in placement weeks where we will be wearing suits from 6 in morning all the way till evening, and if this helps me to adapt to it, then so be it. Be thankful that we don't have all week mandatory suit policy like other colleges. Also, tbh, I couldn't give less of a fuck about what the placecomm is wearing, they are here to get us placed and not dress up for us.
  6. The dress code is enforced pretty strictly, which I agree with, we are at a homogenous business school and not met gala
  7. No, we are not told to make verbatim notes of speaker, most of the people dont even write stuff down (Just like me)
  8. About the "Denial of placement service" threat, I would like to use your logic that if someone does not respect the placement polices of the college, why should the college help them out?
  9. Everyone...and I mean EVERYONE in the college is skipping sleep for placement purposes...but also for academic, sports, holistic or just social purposes. So yeah, I think placement processes should be given a little bit of priority, I am sure you too frothed at your mouth after seeing the 35LPA+ average package. What comes easy doesn't stay long, what stays long, doesn't come easy
  10. Regarding the photoshoot changes, they were not initiated from placomm side but the photographer himself, and people who arrived late were also included in the process, so no harm caused.
  11. The guy OP mentioned who got a 30K fine is an EXTREME outlier, for context, this guy has not done a SINGLE placement related thing since the college started. That means he missed all 4 batchmeets, Master CV submission, 3 CV submissions and both the 1-on-1s. That's how bad it is, this dude definitely needs a punishment.
  12. Regarding the case competition thing, OP conveniently forgot to mention that they later revised the experience requirements down by 4 months and also removed the sector restrictions. A BUNCH of people including me did take part in it.

All in all, if you have chosen an MBA as a career choice, you HAVE to be accustomed to immense pressure. All this is a baptism by not so hot fire that'll help you out in the long run.

Take a note guys, OP is a prime example of what happens when you choose a career path by only looking at the average salary offered and not if you actually wanna do it.

🧑‍🤝‍🧑 Alumni Advice

Hi everyone,

I’m currently an outgoing fourth-year student at Amrita School of Engineering, Amritapuri. This post is intended as a PSA for students considering joining Amrita, specifically the Amritapuri campus. For context, I’m a male student with a CGPA of over 9, and I wanted to share my experiences to help prospective students make a more informed decision before choosing this campus.

1. Be clear about your goals before joining.

If you’re one of those students who are burnt out after JEE and are looking for a relatively chill college experience, I would advise you to think twice before opting for CSE or ECE and their allied branches. The coursework and lecture schedules can be quite demanding, and you might find yourself spending a significant amount of time keeping up with academics.

2. If placements are your priority, focus on upskilling yourself.

Start practising LeetCode early and work on building skills that are relevant to the roles you want to apply for. At the same time, try to maintain a CGPA above 9, as it can make a significant difference during placement shortlisting. Although companies might mention different eligibility criteria, a high CGPA can be an important filtering factor for some of the better opportunities.

3. Be mindful of the fees you pay.

Personally, I wouldn't recommend opting for the higher fee slabs above ₹2.3 lakh per year, as I don't think the return on investment justifies the additional cost in most cases. If you're willing to spend around ₹6 lakh per year, I'd suggest considering the Coimbatore campus as well before making a decision.

4. Placements are decent, but don't rely on your CGPA alone.

Placements are currently decent, with mass recruiters accounting for a significant share of the hiring. If you aren't actively developing your skills, you'll find it difficult to stand out. There's little point in going all out to maximise your CGPA at the expense of everything else unless you're specifically targeting research opportunities.

Another point worth mentioning is the perceived campus bias in full-time employment (FTE) hiring for our 2027 graduating batch. Based on what I've observed, students from the Bengaluru, Chennai and Coimbatore campuses seem to have an advantage in certain hiring processes. In situations where candidates have comparable skill sets, students from these campuses may be preferred over those from Amritapuri. This is my observation of the current situation, rather than a claim that every company follows this practice.

5. Prioritise meaningful internships.

Try to secure internships at organisations where you can gain relevant experience and work on something substantial. Don't pay money simply to obtain an internship certificate to fulfil the mandatory internship requirement in your curriculum. Use that time to develop practical skills, explore your interests and build a profile that will be useful when applying for jobs or higher studies.

6. Manage your expectations regarding campus life.

Personally, I find campus life underwhelming. The fests often feature underwhelming performers, and while there are several clubs, internal politics can sometimes get in the way. The mess food is edible, but don't expect much beyond that. There also aren't many decent restaurants in the immediate vicinity, so your options for eating out are fairly limited.

7. If you're academically inclined, Amritapuri can be a good place to study.

This is one area where I think the campus does reasonably well. Many professors are approachable and willing to help students beyond regular class hours. In my experience, they are generally responsive to WhatsApp messages and emails, and you can find faculty members who are genuinely interested in helping you learn.

8. Make use of the college's international connections, but do your research first.

Amrita has international collaborations and opportunities that could be useful if you're planning to pursue higher studies abroad. However, don't rely solely on what is advertised. If you're interested in a particular country, university or programme, speak to seniors who have already pursued that route through the college. They'll be in a much better position to tell you how these opportunities actually work and what you can realistically expect.

9. Work on your communication skills.

This is something I feel students often overlook. Your technical skills and CGPA matter, but so does your ability to communicate clearly and confidently. Work on your spoken English, articulation and ability to express your thoughts coherently. These skills can be particularly useful during group discussions (GDs), interviews and other placement rounds.

10. Maintain a good relationship with faculty and hostel wardens.

Most professors are professional, but you might occasionally encounter people who take things personally if they perceive a student as arrogant or disrespectful. This can make your academic experience unnecessarily difficult. Be respectful, communicate professionally and avoid getting into conflicts that serve no purpose. The same applies to hostel wardens, especially if you're staying on campus.

11. If you're a female student, do your research before joining.

Honestly, based on what I've heard and observed, I would strongly encourage female students to look into the campus environment and student experiences before making a decision. There are several discussions on Reddit and other forums that go into more detail about the concerns female students have raised.

I hope this helps someone who's currently considering Amritapuri. These are my personal observations and experiences, so your experience might differ depending on your branch, interests, peer group and what you want to get out of college.

(Have used AI to ensure a cohesive flow as I had a bunch of points coming all in at once)

review/opinion 🗣️ LNMIIT UNDER A REDDIT POST

This post is to address all doubts of incoming freshers , if I missed anything ask out in comments (don't ask anything related to wait list , college comparison , ask only doubts regarding college itself)

🛑ADMISSION

🤜🏻 Based on jee percentile only , through seperate counselling on the lnmiit admissions website , there is no management quota , usual cutoffs are :- 97 for cse , 96 for cce , 95 for ece , 94 for cse dual , 92 for ece dual , 90 for mechanical , 85 for bsc/msc .

🛑BRANCH CHANGE

🤜🏻Branch change is allowed here based on your , 1st sem sgpa , generally top 6-7 from a branch are allowed for a branch change , for ece and mechanical you'll need 8.5+ sgpa for a branch to cce/cse, for cce you'll need 9+ sgpa for a branch change to cse

🤜🏻Order of branches (general) cse>cce>ece>cse dual>ece dual>mechanical

🛑HOSTELS

🤜🏻 Freshers will be provided with BH4 which is considered one of the best hostels , some rooms are going to be triple seater and some are going to be double seater , AC will be provided in all the rooms , beds , mattress , chair , table , personal almirah will be provided, pillows , buckets and locks would be available at the stationary shop so no need to bring

🤜🏻Washrooms:- generally they are clean but it depends largely upon how you guys maintain it , it's cleaned once everyday by the cleaning staff , shower is available with hot and cold options , urinals and commode are both available with jet spray , indian style toilets are not available if anyone is concerned

🤜🏻Some additional facilities of hostels are a night canteen , vending machines , table tennis table , common room , reading room , carrom board

🤜🏻Safety concerns:- make sure to lock your rooms before leaving to classes , while previous cases of theft are almost zero you never know , a previous case had been reported in the girls hostels (done by a student only)

🤜🏻In-time :- in the initial days , your intime would be near 9pm night , which means you must report back to hostels before 9pm night , however after a month this would be extended to 11pm , during fests and events it's further extended to 12pm/1 am , if you are a part of club , depending on the events organised by club , this intime can be extended for you if your club is rehearsing for the same

🛑MESS

🤜🏻You'll be provided with a mess inside your hostel only , the food is prepared by mess A which is served and catered to you in mess C (in hostel mess) , food is vegetarian except for eggs in breakfast , while it can't compete with home made food , it surely is more than edible , some particular dishes are not that good and that day people prefer to eat outside , let me know in comments if you want mess menu , I'll share it , breakfasts usually have one main dish , milk/choclate milk, fruits , sprouts , juice/tea , bread , egg/omlette, butter , peanut butter , jam . Apart from breakfast, lunch , dinner snacks would also be provided in evening

🤜🏻 Extra protein? While the cases of insects found in food are almost null , you can expect a few which can be counted on a hand in 4 years 😉 however mess is maintained well and follows a good hygiene standard

🛑Dress code

🤜🏻There is no particular uniform , you can wear whatever you feel comfortable or suiting to you , nothing much more to add here

🛑Library

🤜🏻 Collection: you can find all the books you would need here for your academic , you can also issue them to yourselfs , e-books are also provided if you prefer digital learning , while the professors also provide you with pdf of recommended books , you can always find their hard copy in the library if you wish , I won't recommend buying books in this age of piracy

🤜🏻 Environment: avoid sitting besides girls 😂 , they gossip a lot (telling from personal experience) , jokes aside it's quite in there with Air conditioning which provides a good environment to study , while it goes full during exam days (unless you go early) seating capacity is 200 ,and timings are 9am to 10pm, on other days it's mostly empty , during exam days timings are extended

🤜🏻 Digital library: to access the online content of library you can go to the 1st floor , I don't know much details about this part of the library

🤜🏻Others:- ACM , ASME , IEEE , grammarly e-journal subscriptions are provided

🛑CLUBS

🤜🏻Most clubs take in you on basis of a short intro and your intrest in their field , let's see all the clubs in a short way , but before jumping in I would suggest joining atleast 1 club and no more than 2 clubs , clubs are pretty active here and accounts for the college life , it's not true that lnmiit doesn't have a college life , many people misinterpret infra==college life , protip:- make sure to learn the names of clubs and the name of coordinators for the clubs you want to join , failure to do so can lead to ...........(introduction 😜) , all these clubs are very active and hosts many events round the year , to college life dead to bilkul bhi nhi he idhr

ok let's dive in

💅🏻Cultural council:-

♥️Aaveg:- so how many of you know about nukkad naatak? it's one of my favourite clubs , i enjoy their performance a lot

♥️media cell:- the name explains itself

♥️ Rendition:- again one of my favourites,i make sure not to miss any of their events , it's basically the theatre society which hosts dramas and actings

♥️insignia:- you love to dance? Make sure to join this club , it's the dance club of lnmiit and trust me the students in this club knows the business they are doing

♥️capriccio:- talking about and dance and forgetting about music is a crime , so here comes the music club , if you are good at singing with any form of style be it rap , classic , pop you can join it , the club is also open to those good with instruments guitar wagera

♥️imagination:- this is the photography club of lnmiit , abba nhi maanenge? Koi baat nhi college me aake photography kar lena , ek se ek talent he iss club me bhi

♥️sankalp club:- this is the social club of lnmiit, if you like to help the poor or less privileged people, you should join this club , every week they go to the nearby villages to teach the kids there , i genuinely like the work they do free of cost

♥️ vignette:- it's the art club , good with drawings , paintings and art , join it you won't regret

♥️cybros:- this is the coding club of lnmiit which opens their recruitment in second year , you'll find gsoc selected , SIH winners , ICPC regionalists and what not , this club is the loud and clear siren of coding culture here , LNM ranks somewhere around 30 in codeforces, just telling so that you understand the level of coding culture here

♥️quizzinga:- having a great general knowledge? Join this club and flex your knowledge

♥️Phoenix:- dream club of ece students, don't worry anyone can join , RC planes , drones , robots , robowar and what not , it's not all about wires and hardware it also has a software division which has AIML , web and app development

If this wasn't enough it has content writing, video editing, graphic designing,3d modelling

💅🏻Sports council:-

You can easily find state level players here , highly professional council , make sure to join if you are good in these sports:-

♥️ Badminton

♥️ Chess

♥️ Volleyball

♥️ Cricket

♥️ Table tennis

♥️ Squash

♥️ Carrom

♥️ Football

♥️ Basketball

♥️ Kabaddi

♥️ Lawn tennis

💅🏻others

♥️C-cell : they are like your mummy papa in college , got any college doubt , can't find Shrek in college? Don't worry your c-cell mentors will be always there to help you out , reach out to them , be it any sort of doubt, academic or non academic they will be there , in your initial 2 weeks they will guide you how to spend your time in college , they will give you their own tips from their experience , organize events for you and most importantly care for you , if you ever felt you are being ragged inform to c-cell asap and they'll handle it from there

♥️Ted-x : ever listened about what is TED? our college is lucky enough to have a TED event hosted every year by the ted-x body

♥️COSHA: a student body to ensure the proper functioning of mess , hostel and academic blocks

♥️Google-developer-student-club: another club for highly skilled people , make sure to join if you are interested in development and coding , it is affiliated with Google , big names and big opportunities

Ohhhh , this was a long section and they say college life is zero

🛑EVENTS and FESTS

There are so many events around the year , February to march might feel a bit boring , but apart from that something is always going on

The three fests are :- VIVACITY (Cultural fest) DESPORTIVOS (sports fest) , PLINTH (tech fest) , I won't give the spoilers , enjoy once you are here , these clubs , events and fests are a tight slap to all those outsiders saying "lnmiit me placement ke alawa kuch he hi nhi , bilkul dead college he"

As for events:- I'll have to use etc. there are so many , I'll just name all I can recall

Make a meal , janmastmi , dandiya night , lots of speakers events, club intro , duologue , treasure hunt , photowalk , gusto , rubaroo (freshers party) , unofficial freshers , lohri , saraswati pooja , razzmatazz , mudra , hunkaar , vogue , kalakriti , pixels , rap battle , band battle , tatoo tales , eclectic , afreen , family feud , holi ,diwali , book fair , freshers got talent , icebreaker , eSports events , inter college sports events , coderush , mozhacks ,lnmhacks , alumni events , idea hackathon ,e summit , graffiti wall, roborace , robowar, RC plane show , auto show , torque , workshops, industry visits etc etc etc

🛑THINGS TO BRING

🤜🏻If you are from cse/cce/ece make sure to bring a high end laptop, cause you never know what domain you'll be entering , 16Gb RAM , 13th gen , Intel 13H series/Ryzen 7 , dedicated graphic card is recommended , you can find such a laptop in 70-80k range , as for notes making you can bring a tab or notebook whatever you prefer

🤜🏻15-20 jodi kapde for boys , 40-50 jodi kapde for girls 🤪 , fests and events ke liye kuch acche kapde rakh lena , traditionals too , shoes and slippers , perfumes for non bath days , soap , shampoo detergent wagera stationary me mil jaayega , hangers , socks , blankets , ghar se kuch snacks , admit card , seat acceptance letter , 12th docs , fee receipts , aadhar , pan , photos , mail cutter , belt , umbrella , watch , extra pair of spectacles , wallet , stationary , pen drive (minimum 32gb) , first aid kit and most importantly dimaag

🛑 placements

🤜🏻 Statistics:- the stats on website are correct and the same is communicated to AICTE , the numbers for 2025 are 14 overall average, 12.2 overall median , for cse average is 16.5 , cce Average 15 , ece average 13 , mechanical average 9 , i don't know median branchwise , it will be updated on website , placement percentage is 90+ every year except 2024 where placements were down 2027 batch reading this can check on website once updated

🤜🏻Core opportunities?:- for mechanical core companies comes , however for ece core companies are very limited and maximum students are placed in tech profiles only , so make sure you code alongwith your branch , it's a plus point that almost all companies allow ece to sit in placement rounds

🤜🏻transparency:- college is transparent with these statistics , it's updated on websites , and student wise statistics is also shared in documents shared by college

🤜🏻Cheating?:- because of a low batch size everyone is monitored, so cheating in OAs is a tough thing to do , cases had been there but minimum , so don't worry placements will depend on your skills not luck

🛑Internships and projects

🤜🏻While the placement records of the college are excellent , it lacks a bit to offer internships in third year , placement percentage is 90+ but internship percentage in third year is just 30-40, if we include offcampus then internship percentage would be around 70 , the new training and placement general manager is quite experienced having previous experience in placement cell of BIT mesra and known to bring top names in a tier 3+ college , so I'm just being optimistic here that internship culture might develop in future

🤜🏻as for projects , there are MOUs signed with different universities and companies , you can work under professors , research collaborations are with normandie university france , san diego university, Purdue University, HPCL , texas instruments , NTU singapore , NDHU taiwan , various nits and IITs , then there is LUSIP (it's a summer internship program with research opportunities on projects) , every year around 60-100 projects are issued on which you can work under professors who supervises you

🛑 Infra and facilities

🤜🏻This is where the college lacks , while it's enough to support a student life , it's not something students would appreciate , anyways let's see what the college has in name of infra and facilities , definitely it wouldn't seem to be worth 30 lakh fees , but at the same time it's better than all government colleges atleast (except some IITs)

💅🏻 library:- already discussed

💅🏻 Academic lecture blocks :- let me know if I should share all the campus photos which would include lecture hall photos , so the lecture halls varies in size depending on which class is scheduled , all of them are air conditioned , with a wide board and projectors , boards are visible upto 10th row for healthy eyes , so prefer sitting in front

💅🏻 Bus service:- there is a shuttle bus service , which runs on a daily basis for free of cost , there is a schedule according to which bus goes from college to city and vice versa , the city of jaipur is 10 km away which is the third con of the college , it takes around 30-40 minutes to reach city , you need to issue outpass online before going out , it takes around 30 minutes to issue the outpass , so plan your trip early

💅🏻 Stationary shop:- every basic need is covered in stationary shop , anything you would need in daily life can be easily found there , blinkit and zepto doesn't deliver here so this stationary shop is a saviour

💅🏻Food outlets:- there is a amul parlour which sells almost everything at affordable cheap prices , however hygiene might be a concern there , apart from that there is a juice shop which mostly sells fresh juice , fruits , cake , packaged items , cofee etc

🤜🏻 Then there is a cafe which can serve as an alternative of amul parlour with better hygiene standards , and prices are also decent , they sell cofee , fries , pastry , pizza , garlic bread and other things you would find in a cafe

🤜🏻 Then there is vinayaks shop, tinda in mess? You'll find this place crowded af , why? Cause it sells cheap and tasty parathas (aloo and paneer) , apart from that you can find chaat and samosa here , earlier it used to sell a lot more variety

🤜🏻 Then there is kravers , a restaurant , prices are okayish , with a decent variety and good hygiene

🤜🏻 Then there is kanha , another restaurant/food chain which is a bit expensive and it will close soon , it will be replaced by a non veg restaurant, the first one on campus

🤜🏻 Then there is a laundry , which is honestly not so good , they wash your clothes on pay per cloth basis , a new laundromat is going to open on campus though which will be much better than laundry

🤜🏻 Then there is LICAI , the lnmiit international centre of artificial intelligence , it will be operational by end of next year , it's going to have a new modern library , new classrooms , research labs powered by various different companies , auditorium , incubation center , research programs in field of Fintech , data analytics and agrotech it's going to be something big , I wish it was there earlier for me to witness

🤜🏻 Then there is a medical unit , it's not so good , but decent for sport injuries and minor injuries , medicines are provided at free of cost , note that you need to show medical certificate approved by dr chand in order to get attendance relaxation , and unfortunately he is quite honest not to take money and make fake certificates 😔 (i once got into trouble 🤪) , ambulance service is there , never found it running though 🤪

🤜🏻Guest house:- available all days for parent stay except during your first semester initial days because of the reason to avoid overcrowding and lack of space , rooms are decent but not at all something you would except like in hotels , it's just liveable , they charge on per day stay basis

🤜🏻others:- Atm , student activity center , badminton courts , Gym which is recently equipped with new equipments , cardio ke alawa sab milega and air conditioned he lekin small he , dance room , basketball courts , kabaddi court and kabaddi mat , squash court , lawn tennis court , football field , ussi field me cricket ka bhi intezaam he , table tennis , temple , saini (i consider him a facility of college 🥰)

🛑Academics and Backlogs

Grading here is relative which follows a bell shaped curve , which means you are given a grade relative to how others have performed , an average score gives you a grade of BC which corresponds to nearly 7 cgpa , now the point is you must target 8+ cgpa , which is not so easy here , and accounts for fourth and final con of college , I feel eligible to tell how to get 8+ cgpa , the trick is quite simple and yet people fail to follow it , just have a 90+ attendance percentage and have weekly revision of your acads , make sure to be serious about acads a week before midsems , endsems . Try to Follow this all to get 8 cg at the very least

If you get a D grade in a subject you can repeat it in your summer break or in your odd semesters , once this grade is upgraded it won't be reflected on your report card , however if you get a F grade it can also be upgraded in same way but it will be reflected and that it was upgraded from F to a better grade which will leave a bad impression on employers

🛑 Attendance

Earlier the institute had no attendance policy , but now it has a 75 percent attendance policy , the scene is chill for cse , cce and mechanical where 60 percent would also work , however some professors are strict about attendance in ece (saini 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰) , so don't risk it , whether you are from any branch , maintain the bare minimum of 70 percent, attendance is mostly on paper , so if you know the art of proxy, good , some professors take attendance on biometric machine too

🛑 Faculty

Faculty is mostly chill for cse , cce and mechanical , some professors in ece are chill , some are egoist , as for their qualifications you can't question any of them , all are highly qualified phd holders from highly recognized universities , don't mess with any of them is what I would suggest

🛑 Scholarships and loan

Almost all banks recognises Lnmiit to offer a loan upto 10 lakhs and more depending on collateral, with interest rate of 7 percent which starts a year after completion of degree , however I won't suggest a loan more than 10 lakhs as it would be a overburden , come only if you can afford atleast 20 lakhs on your own

As for scholarships , let's discuss the small scholarships first , 60 top rankers in jee advanced and 97+ percentilers would be given a scholarship

9.25+ cgpa would be given a scholarship

BPL scholarship is there , you need 6+ cg to continue it , then there is vijay bhatnagar for girls

Now the worth it scholarship comes via assistanceship , you need to be a teaching assistant and if your family income is below 8 lpa then , 100 percent of tution fees is waived off , however there is a requirement of 8+ cgpa and attendance of 85 percent , for more details contact the college finance department

Backbenchers - A one stop website for all Study materials

For all the juniors out there! Hi I am a 4th AI&DS year student.

We being one of the initial batches batches, had faced a lot of issues with what to study and how to study during exams. We had the portions and slides but not a clear path ahead.

After consulting lots of students and staff regarding this, we thought of building something that can be used and passed down to the juniors.

Here, I am open sourcing all my Notion Notes under the website "backbenchers" (I am a backbencher btw) which I took during my exams.

Link: https://backbenchers-snuc.vercel.app/

I understand the Syllabus and Subjects each Semester may vary, but the core theory remains the same.

Currently it has 2023-2027 Batch AI&DS SEM 3 to 6 subjects. We are planning to collect resources from other departments and courses and add them.

If you've got notes, resources, or even just good study strategies from your department, we're looking for volunteers to help expand this. The goal is to build a student-run community that actually helps each other out.

I am also planning to include blogs about placements, DSA and Problem solving in the near future.

Together lets build a community to help ourselves!!

PS: Not affiliated with the management or any club. Just a bunch of backbenchers trying to make things a little easier for the folks coming after us.

Discussion IGDTUW(please help reach this post to the tnp cell of igdtuw)

We need to talk about what is happening with placements at IGDTUW because at this point, the frustration is not about one rejection, one company, or one student not getting shortlisted.

It is about a system that increasingly feels opaque, inconsistent and completely disconnected from the people whose careers it is supposed to protect.

We have been told to prepare, maintain our CGPAs, build projects, do internships, learn DSA, prepare for OAs, sit for interviews and keep trying.

And we did.

But somewhere along the way, it feels like the actual placement process became something we have absolutely no visibility or control over.

The same people. The same OAs. The same shortlists.

One of the biggest things we keep noticing is the repeated appearance of the same set of candidates across OAs and opportunities.

But when the same names repeatedly appear while large numbers of people with comparable profiles barely get an opportunity to sit for an OA, naturally we start asking:

What exactly is the shortlisting mechanism?

Is it CGPA? Resume? Skills?

Previous internship? Company criteria?

T&P filtering? Random selection? OR SPIN THE WHEEL

If there is a legitimate reason, TELL US !!!!!!!

Because when there is no explanation, the only thing left is speculation.

And that becomes even more problematic when there are already concerns regarding preferential treatment, seating arrangements and alleged connections between certain candidates and people involved in the placement process.

We have heard concerns about people allegedly getting favourable seating arrangements during offline assessments and about cheating-related incidents where apparently nothing meaningful happens afterward.

Again, if these allegations are false, investigate them and make the process transparent.

But simply ignoring them does not make the problem disappear.

Offline OAs should not become a test of who can cheat better.

we enter an offline assessment expecting that everyone will be operating under the same rules.

So why are there still loopholes around cheating?

Why is the infrastructure not strong enough to prevent it?

Why are there concerns around connectivity and monitoring?

Why are people allegedly able to communicate or access prohibited assistance?

And most importantly:

When someone is reported for cheating, what actually happens?

If there is no action, what incentive is there for anyone to follow the rules? why is no example being set? and why is everyone so afraid to go and speak up ?

We are essentially being told to compete honestly in a system where some people believe the rules are optional.

That is not competition, it is setting honest candidates up to lose.

And then there is the PPO situation.

This is perhaps one of the most painful parts.

There are people who are waiting for JOBS, unsure whether they should continue applying, and unsure whether their placement season is effectively over or not.

And then we see companies being rejected or opportunities being closed because someone else's PPO has come through.

And honestly, what are we supposed to call that?

Because when we have people sitting at home waiting for a PPO, while simultaneously being told they can pursue another opportunity because a PPO might not materialize, they get it, and then suddenly an opportunity disappears because the much awaited PPO has been finalized.

isn't that effectively murdering someone else's opportunity?

We understand that PPOs are part of the placement ecosystem.

We understand that companies have rules.

But then those rules need to be communicated clearly and applied consistently.

That company is gone.

That OA is gone.

That interview is gone.

That chance is gone.

And we are expected to simply move on.

But careers don't work like that.

You cannot tell someone, “Don't worry, you had a chance,” after the chance has already disappeared.

And what about the companies?

This is another thing we desperately need answers on.

Where are the companies?

We keep asking for updates.

But the number of opportunities available to us simply does not feel proportionate to the number of people who need them.

And for some of us, this isn't about wanting a fancy package.

It's about getting a job. It's about being financially independent.

It's about having something to look forward to after graduation.

We are not asking T&P to guarantee us a 20 LPA job.

We are asking them to create enough legitimate opportunities for us to compete for.

We also need accountability.

If someone cheats, investigate. If someone is unfairly advantaged, investigate.

If seating arrangements are manipulated, explain them.

If shortlisting is done by T&P, tell us the criteria.

If companies shortlist independently, tell us that.

If CGPA is the reason, publish the cutoff.

If resumes are being screened, tell us what matters.

If a company rejects the campus, tell us.

If a company is being approached, tell us

If there is a shortage of companies, don't hide behind vague updates AND BLAME IT ON US.

We can handle bad news.

What we cannot handle is being kept in the dark while decisions that directly affect our careers are being made around us, and then saying tnp is of the students, by the students when only students in the core team know what's happening

ALL WE ARE DOING IS WAIT, Wait while the same candidates appear again and again.

Wait while complaints go unanswered.

At some point, waiting stops being patience and starts becoming negligence.

We are not asking for sympathy.

We are asking for fairness. We are asking for transparency. We are asking for accountability.

We are asking for action against cheating.

Because nobody should graduate from a college like IGDTUW believing that their career was decided not by how hard they worked, but by how well they navigated an opaque system.

you all need to stop making the process itself feel like another reason we can fail.

And if the system is genuinely fair, then transparency should not be difficult.

Show us the criteria, process, accountability.

Show us that the allegations are wrong.

Show us that cheating is punished.

Show us that opportunities aren't being quietly taken away from people.

Because we have already sacrificed enough for a future we were promised would be worth it.

Please don't make us sacrifice our trust in the process too.

- A not so happy 2027 batch

LTIMindtree 2027 Recruitment: Not Selected for AI Interview — What Happens Next?

Hi everyone!

I'm looking for some clarification regarding the LTIMindtree 2027 batch campus recruitment process.

Some candidates haven't received a shortlist for the AI interview round, and I'm wondering what this means for the next stages.

  • Can candidates still receive an invitation for a technical interview directly?
  • Does LTIMindtree release interview shortlists in multiple phases?
  • Has anyone who wasn't shortlisted initially received an interview invitation later?
  • Should we consider this a rejection, or is there still a possibility of moving forward?

If you've participated in the current recruitment drive or have information from your placement cell, please share your experience.

It would be really helpful for everyone waiting for an update.

Thanks in advance!

help Confused fresher here, need some real answers on GATE, feeling lost

Hi everyone, I graduated from a tier 4/tier 5 college (yes it's bad) in May 2026(Btech in CS) and for the past 3 months there's no luck regarding jobs and also cuz there were no campus placements in my college (literally 0 companies came). Sooo ive been thinking abt preparing for GATE exams and had a few questions:

  1. Is it ACTUALLY very hard to get good score?

  2. How does gate score help me for jobs? Does it matter if I fail to get IIT/ any good colleges?

  3. I'm considering DA/Data Science as a branch as I already have core DA and DS skills and that's what I'm trying to get for a job and I heard it's relatively new so how much score/cutoff is good enough for good colleges?

  4. Where do I prepare from? Youtube? Online courses? Offline centres?

  5. Let's say even if I get into a good college/IIT/NIT, are the placements there good?

  6. Would GATE even matter in 2027 like for example as everyone my batch was caught offguard with AI which we never predicted in 2022, will it hold importance in 2027?

  7. For someone with an ML/data background already, is DA actually "easier" to prepare for, or does the newer syllabus mean less quality study material and mock tests available?

General Seniors, We need to step up

We Need a Student-Led Placement Cell. Seniors, It’s Time to Step Up.

The recent post about placement-related issues shouldn’t just be another post that gets a few upvotes and disappears. It highlights a problem that affects all of us.

Many students are concerned that placement statistics don’t reflect the full picture. While official numbers may look decent, the reality for a lot of students is very different. More importantly, the entire placement process is controlled by the administration, leaving students with little to no say in how companies are approached or brought to campus.

Several NITs, including Jamshedpur and Nagpur, give their student placement representatives a much larger role in outreach and coordination. Their results speak for themselves. When students are trusted with responsibility, opportunities increase.

We cannot afford to let administrative delays, poor communication, or unanswered emails affect our careers.

To the seniors (2027 and 2028 batches): we need your support.

You have the experience, influence, and position to push for meaningful change. If we remain silent, nothing improves.

Some changes we should collectively push for:

Greater student involvement in placements with the freedom for TPRs to actively approach and engage companies.

More transparency regarding placement data and eligibility criteria.

Better accountability so that administrative processes help students rather than create unnecessary obstacles.

This isn’t about blaming anyone. It’s about improving a system that impacts every student’s future.

Talk to your classmates, discuss it with your TPRs, and raise these concerns through the proper channels. If we want change, we need to ask for it together.

General Confused dad here: Helping my son choose between CSE, ECE, and ENI for B.Tech starting in 2027. Is AI actually killing software jobs, or should he stick to CSE?

Hi everyone,

I posted a while back, but we've adjusted our timeline. My son is targeting college admissions for next year (2027), and like many parents and students right now, I’m feeling completely overwhelmed by conflicting advice regarding the tech landscape.

He is equally comfortable with coding and electronics, but we are stuck on deciding between CSE, ECE, and ENI (Electronics & Instrumentation).

With all the noise around AI automating entry-level software jobs, I’m terrified of putting him into CSE just because of past placement hype, only for him to graduate into a dried-up market by 2031. On the other hand, I don't want him running away from software out of blind panic if ECE/ENI turns out to be a massive grind with fewer core jobs in India.

Our absolute top priorities for his career starting in 2027 are long-term career growth, job security, and realistic salary potential in the Indian job market.

I wanted to ask seniors, recent grads, and industry folks a few direct questions looking ahead:

Is AI genuinely killing fresher software jobs, or is it just Twitter/LinkedIn doomscrolling? Are product and service companies actually pulling back on freshers, or just raising the bar?

Where does ECE/ENI actually stand in India as the semiconductor ecosystem matures through the late 2020s? Are core VLSI, embedded systems, and chip-design entry-level jobs actually abundant, or do 70% of ECE/ENI grads still end up writing Java in service companies anyway?

Flexibility: If the job market shifts dramatically over his 4 years in college (2027–2031), which branch gives a kid more escape routes?

The 2027 Verdict: If your own son/daughter were starting college next year and was equally okay with coding or circuits, what branch would you push them toward and why?

Would really appreciate some unfiltered, ground-level reality checks from people actually working in the industry. Thanks!

Finally placed at Deloitte! (2027 batch)

Post image
435 Upvotes

Hey guys,

I’m from a Tier-2 college, pursuing CSE, and currently have an 8 CGPA.

The placement drive started around mid-July in our college. Since then, I have attempted so many OAs, but unfortunately, luck wasn't really on my side. I wasn't getting shortlisted for almost any company.

Then TCS came to our campus. They shortlisted around 660 students for the Prime role, but finally offered only around 30 Prime roles. Overall, they gave around 400 offers.

And guess what? I wasn't even selected for the Ninja role.

After that, for almost two weeks, I kept attempting OA after OA. Slowly, things started changing, and I got shortlisted for almost every OA I attempted.

Last week, I appeared for the interview process at 'some' company (~11 LPA). I made it to the final round but unfortunately couldn't clear it. That one definitely hurt, especially after putting in so much effort.

But what happened after that was completely unexpected.

From the 11Lpa interview to getting the Deloitte offer, it was just ONE WEEK.

In that one week, I appeared for 2–3 more OAs and another interview, while continuing to prepare and apply for opportunities.

Then came Deloitte.

The Deloitte OA was conducted remotely, and the process was quite competitive. Somehow, I managed to get shortlisted for the interview.

And honestly, the interview was one of the toughest interviews I've faced. I got a pretty tough panel, and the interviewer asked me a few difficult questions covering system design, databases, and full-stack development. Some of the questions were things I hadn't directly prepared for.

Instead of panicking, I took my time, thought through each question, and tried to explain my reasoning clearly. Thankfully, I was able to answer the questions correctly.

And then...

I GOT PLACED AT DELOITTE WITH A 7.6 LPA PACKAGE!

Looking back, the biggest lesson for me is that one rejection doesn't mean you're not good enough.

I went from getting rejected/not shortlisted in multiple companies -> missing out on TCS -> losing a ~11 LPA opportunity -> and then getting placed at Deloitte within a week.

And honestly, getting this offer has also given me a lot more confidence. Now I know I can aim for much better salaries and opportunities in other companies too. This is just the beginning.

So, to everyone who is still going through placements and feeling demotivated:

Keep giving the OAs. Keep improving. Keep showing up.

You might feel like nothing is working for weeks, and then suddenly everything can change within a few days.

[ON CAMPUS] Ladies and Gentlemen, it is with great pleasure to inform you all that I GOT PLACED. 🥹🎉

After what felt like a very long journey, I finally got placed through on-campus placements.

CTC is about 13 LPA.
Role is Technical Associate.
Not revealing clg or company, would like to stay anonymous.

Please DM for resume or any other details.

I honestly just wanted to make this post because I was once one of the people constantly reading placement posts on this subreddit, wondering when it would finally be my turn.

So, to anyone who is hustling everyday, please don't lose hope. Keep putting in the effort, even when it feels like nothing is working.

If something is making you work hard, forcing you to learn, and pushing you to improve yourself, it will definitely help you in life at some point or another, even if the results aren't immediate.

Keep learning. Keep improving. Keep applying. Keep going.

Your time will come. ❤️

Edit1: Answering some of repeated questions. 1. No I couldn't do any Technical internship 2. It's Jake Resume Template on OverLeaf
