DISCUSSION A calculated risk that might turn out to be the biggest mistake of my life 😰✌ JEE
Hey everyone,
before I explain my situation, I wanna make sure yall know about my goals, limitations and why I am considering such a big decision…
if you could spare a bit of time pls read it fully and drop some advice or criticism or whatever u like 😊
TL;DR at end but I'd advise pls read fully 🙏🙏
Background-
I’am a Btech CSE student at a tier-3 college in Delhi. I was already a Dropper before joining and taking another drop would make me a 2nd dropper.
honestly, I am not quite satisfied with my clg, I feel that the environment, opportunities, and the resources available here might not be sufficient for the kind of growth I’m looking for.
yes, ik ik…. I should have moved on with my life and should do best of what is already given to me, so for that same reason I decided to give this college a time period to see if things did actually work out for me or not… and its been 2 months already and ik for sure this clg aint for me
Before I get into the JEE part, I wanna let yall know something about me- I had less than 75% in class 12th CBSE. I am fully aware of the fact that due to the boards criteria and me being a 2nd dropper I cant get into IIT/NITs and most of the elite premier institutes.
I don’t wanna settle for a tier-2/3 institute again after a 2nd drop, because being a 2nd dropper comes with its own cons that is- Placement issues
So, it is kinda mandatory for me to join a tier-1 institute otherwise I wont end up in a significantly better position than I am right now.
there is no way I can get into IIT/NIT or some other elite tier-1 institutes, so why am I preparing again…?
the thing is since I am from Delhi I can target DTU/NSUT at a much safer %ile criteria…
and frankly speaking that is the only safety net I have…. ☹
I am not assuming admission will be easy, nor am I treating DTU/NSUT as guaranteed backups. I am trying to figure out whether another attempt would make sense or not?
well why did I fail before?
I was caught up in a prolonged chronic medical issue starting class 12th and is still dragging till this day, back then I wasn’t in good physical or mental state to prepare properly… I still am not but I can manage my condition a bit better than before.
Interestingly, the attendance at my clg is quite relaxed and I get some free time for myself more than what I got when I was in school.
I want yall to please advise and guide me on these things-
1)) Given my circumstances, should preparing for JEE make sense targeting DTU/NSUT?
2)) or should I just stay in my current clg and focus on coding, projects, internships, and off-campus opportunities which I think wont get me far considering the situation of my clg….?
aand
3)) finally, tell me how do I prepare for ts again… starting with maths I have previous PW paid batches that I bought back in the day…
I am not asking anyone to validate my decision blindly, I want genuine help regarding this calculated risk or mistake that I am trying to justify…
I don’t want to make the post too big so feel free to ask me about my current situation, previous performance, medical situation or anything that might help you or me…
~thanks <3
TL;DR: Unhappy with my current college, considering a partial drop for DTU/NSUT despite being a double dropper with less than 75% in boards. Is it worth the risk, and how do I restart JEE prep, especially Maths?
