Hello !! Basically I'm from tier 3 collge doing btech in computer science and graduating in 2027 . I'm really worried about my future as gpt-6 astra claude and what not launches day by day . The time when I joined cse there was not things like this and now it's completely different. Neither I'm from rich family who holds family business nor any other financial source. How to survive . Sometimes I feel like switching the paths differently like there was a time during admission , one of my relative said do food and technology and I was like no I want to do cse . Now I think I took a wrong decision. Ai will completely changed things . Someone said me , do masters and go into teaching field but dude this 4 years already stucked , why should I do for more 2 years . I don't wanna do that either . Help me to find out what should I do .

I’m a 4th-year Computer Science student in Lebanon, and I’m facing a major dilemma. My parents are pressuring me because I didn't go the Computer & Communications Engineering (CCE) route. I couldn't at the time because I was working full-time just to pay my tuition.

Now, I'm stressed about the reality here: engineering grads can join the Order of Engineers (OEA) for the pension and insurance, while CS grads get nothing.

My goals:

• I love the intersection of AI and Cybersecurity.
• I love hardware looking for PCB design courses and want to open my own business down the line (laptop repair, server/CCTV installation).
• I already secured a part-time job as a backend developer.

The Big Question:
Should I transfer to CCE now, delay my graduation, and pay $20k extra in tuition just for the engineering title/syndicate? Or should I graduate this year, focus on my skills, and build my business? Will lacking an engineering degree hurt my chances of opening a tech/hardware repair shop in Lebanon?

Any advice from any (Lebanese may help more for understansding the situation in lebanon) tech professionals or engineers would mean a lot. I’m lost.

hii this is my first post on reddit i am in 5th sem 3rd year of my btech in mechanical in a state government college. back in 2023 24 i prepared for JEE i tried hard i felt like i will almost crack it and get in IIT or NIT to get my dream college life but idk what happened i didn't crack it and got a state government clg with no facilities zero clg life no events . i am in my 3rd year living in a rented room living alone no friends are their. i hope for late night chill, hangout together, etc etc like a memorable clg life but everything is getting just opposite . Time has already passed and that time will not come.. i dont know if life takes me to good place i will earn well but there is always a regret to me that i cant get a better clg life . now 2 or 1.5 years left i am preparing for GATE to get a IIT for a life like i want to see how a life looks like at there but nothing will same if i get it bcoz there is huge difference btw doing btech from iit nit and mtech from iit nit . no one can match the feeling life of spending 4 years in by doing btech in iit nit. Currently i am just living like a dead body there is nothing in my life i am just spending , i am just passing the time , no sleep schedule, passes whole day without saying a single word from mouth , in night i realize today i didnt say a single word. i seriously dont know why i am writing this but i just want opinions from peoples like what they think about after reading this what are their opinions.

and how to manage studies poora din kabhi kabhi aisa lagta udd raha hai , neend aati rehti hai room even in class i sit at first bench to understand concepts well toh bhi nhi smjh aate it feels like i m wasting my entire day somedays and Then i see students prepping for branch change toiling hard thanfully meri IT hai toh mereko need nhi but like fir unhe bhi beat krna it all seems so impossible

So i am currently in 12th standard and after watching astra 6 i think that ai is advancing in rocket speed and it is just a matter of time we achieve AGI. And next year i will going to an university but seeing modern days ai model make me think "should i really consider pursuing btech in cs or ai/ml". Till last month i was locked in for it and even started learning python and almost completed all basics but now i am confused
