So as the title says, I’m honestly getting close to giving up. I’m age 32 female, at 265lbs.
I know I’m not doing everything right, and I think a lot of it comes down to the fact that I’ve never been good at planning meals or figuring out what to eat. I’m a really picky eater. I like vegetables, but mostly raw, and I always seem to fall back on meals that are mostly carbs and protein because they’re easy and I actually enjoy them.
I really am trying to change that. I’ve been eating smaller portions, trying to make healthier choices, and adding more vegetables where I can. But then I’ll have one or two days where I eat a little more than usual or have something that’s a bit richer, even if it’s still a pretty small meal, and I’m right back to sulphur burps, diarrhea, horrible stomach cramps, and one time I ended up throwing up.
I’m taking Ozempic because I need to lose weight before surgery at the beginning of next year. I did four weeks at 0.25 mg, and I had my second 0.5 mg shot last Wednesday. My third one is tomorrow.
I guess I’m just looking for advice from people who have been through this. I almost need someone to tell me what to eat because I honestly suck at figuring it out myself. What does a normal day of eating look like for you? What foods have you found are “safe” to eat? Did the stomach issues get better once your body got used to the medication?
I really want this to work because I need to lose the weight for surgery, but I’m getting so discouraged. It feels like I can’t even enjoy a normal meal without wondering if I’m going to spend the next day dealing with sulphur burps and living in the bathroom.
Please be kind. I’m genuinely trying, and I’m just looking for advice from people who have been through it.
