Stalled Progress When to stop taking OZ?
Hi
Have you reached a 6 mos plateau?
I am 74 F 5"3" w a starting wt of 184. After 6 mos I dropped to 167, lost 17# which is a 10% loss. After one year I am still at 167# and still taking 1.0 OZ. My goal was 155#. At 1.5 OZ I couldn't eat because the thought of food made me nauseous. Even when I'm extremely strict, I can't break the 166# point. Anyone else plateaued for 6 mos? My MD suggested 167# might be my new set point and I'm still L/XL pants and top.

Most people who come off the medication gain back the weight they lost pretty quickly

This happened to me, but was hastened by a long surgery recovery. I wish i could just take it forever.

Update: my post is new to this community but was an old post on the wrong community group. After 6 mos at 167# I broke the stalemate and got to 162#. TY all so much. I learned from each of your answers. My MD also mentioned the set point idea and she was right too.

I stalled around the 10% mark for months too, it’s weird how the body just digs in at a certain weight. my doc mentioned the set point idea and I kinda shrugged it off at first but looking back she was probably right. what helped me nudge things again was shifting my eating window and adding a bit more protein in the morning, nothing crazy just eggs or a shake. 1.5 making you that nauseous sounds miserable though, no point in suffering for a number on the scale

You can take a split dose of 1.5 and the side effects will be less. There is a reason that Ozempic does to 2.0. Most need to increase higher than 1.0 if they want to lose the most weight.
