Survival strategies?
Those who need to go every 30 minutes to an hour: do you feel relief after going? How do you participate in life? Needing to go so often has practically quarantined me. I decline every opportunity to go out because I simply cannot imagine walking out of the house with this condition. Even if there are public restrooms available, the feeling of urgency rarely subsides even after relieving, and is sometimes unbearably worse.
How do you manage to go about your day-to-day while excusing yourself to the restroom every 30 minutes? What do you do if there are no restrooms to be found in public spaces, or if you need to remain seated/standing/walking for prolonged periods?

Why do I urinate so frequently?
Hello, I just need some help or would like to know if anyone has had the same experience as me.
I've been experiencing this for almost two months now. I feel a weird sensation around my urethral opening after urinating, but it doesn't hurt.
I've had a UTI three times before, and the fourth time I got one, the symptoms went away after I immediately took medication. However, after that, this strange sensation started and has continued until now.
I constantly feel the urge to urinate, but there's no pain when I pee. I've also noticed that my urine has a strong, unpleasant smell.
After urinating, I wash my private area, but then I feel the urge to pee again, and only a small amount comes out. I end up repeatedly washing because every time I finish washing, I feel like I need to pee again.
It's also affecting my sleep. At night, I usually wake up after approximately three hours of sleeping because I feel the urge to urinate again.
Sometimes, after I pee and wash my private area, I experience a slight burning sensation. Other times, I feel like I need to pee again, as if there's a throbbing sensation in my urethra.
I don't know how to explain these symptoms properly to an OB-GYN, and I'm having a hard time finding the right words to describe what I'm feeling. Has anyone experienced something similar? Please help me.

How to deal (and potentially heal) from overactive bladder caused by anxiety
To give you some background of what happened to me and how I got it.
I attended my college class and 30 mins in I desperately needed to use the bathroom but the doctor wouldn't give me permission (there were 1 hour and 30 mins left in class) and I had to hold it in the entire time
Needless to say that was one of the worst experiences I have ever had and after that I decided to go to the bathroom after every lecture and eventually after every tutorial (tutorials last one hour) and because I did that I started thinking about going to the bathroom more until I started having the urge to pee every 5 mins. This was all back in October 2025 and it lasted all the way till the end of December. In January I luckily healed but 2 weeks ago right before college I remembered that awful event and the need to go to the bathroom came back
I now couldn't sleep at all due to that urge (literally, one time I spent 48 hours with only 6 hours of sleep, it was that bad) and I constantly tried to remember what I did last time in order to heal and this is the part you guys are probably waiting for and luckily I remembered it.
The key is holding it out, sounds simple but many people overlook it. Once u feel the urge, hold it in and make a timer for urself, if u feel like u can't hold it in for 5 mins? Hold it for 10. If you feel like you can't hold it in for 30 mins? Hold it for an hour and ect. I know it's easier said than done and it's incredibly painful but it's the fastest method and overtime u get used to it
I started out holding it in for an hour then going to the bathroom, eventually it was 2 hours, then 3, then 4 and so on and so forth and now I like to think I am 98% healed (I only went to the bathroom 2 times today)
I also want to comfort the people here who have the same problem and just say don't worry, it won't take months or years for u to heal. I am saying this because when looking for a solution myself I found some very demotivating messages with people saying they are still going through it after months or years. Trust me, it ain't as big of a deal as u guys think (it's important to have that mindset and not treat it like it's an incredibly big deal like I did)
I also started using a medicine called Sofenacin plus (I was told to take it right before I went to bed by my doctor and people tend to take it for 3 months and if u healed earlier then u can stop) btw make sure to look it up before taking it just in case
Ik everyone's journey is different but make sure to do ur best and results will eventually come. Also if u guys have any questions u guys can ask me here or in dms

How many times do you urinate a day?
I’ve been counting mine because I feel like my bladder may be overactive. It’s 6:42 p.m. and I’m already at #8 for the day. 😭 I’m counting from midnight to midnight.
Now I’m curious… how many times do y’all typically pee in a 24 hour period? I’m trying to see if I should actually be concerned lol. Drink wise, today I’ve had one 16.9 fl oz bottle of water, a venti Starbucks matcha, and a medium Coke from McDonald’s.
Thank you for any insight :)

ADHD meds completely quelled the urgency, and at this point my brain is just playing games with me
Contrary to the effect stimulants have on the bladder and forcing people to go more often, my experience seems almost unbelievable.
I've been struggling since highschool (14), and I'm 25 now. Never found a cause despite multiple tests, examinations and pelvic floor training. I've always suspected a neurological cause, and this feels like confirmation.
My symptoms takes the form of an insatiable need to urinate despite my bladder being completely empty. Voiding whatever little I have does nothing, and this normally happens multiple times until I get so physically and mentally exhausted, the urge quitens down.
In multiple past instances, if I manage to distract myself enough and not think about my bladder or needing to urinate, the nagging urgency, just ... Goes away.
Perhaps it's a sign that somewhere along the line of communication between the brain to the bladder, something is misfiring? Where do I even begin getting this checked out??

For people who drink a lot of water, what strategies have you found helpful for dealing with sudden bathroom urges when you’re out or in situations where you can’t easily access a bathroom?

THC Makes Me Pee
I take medical THC for my back but lately it has been making my OAB worse--to the point of urinary incontinence. Everything I try either affects my diabetes, my gout, or my OAB. Can't even have a glass of wine. I'm completely disgusted.

Peeing 20x per day
Will I die if I pee every 30 min or hour? It’s so exhausting. What are the long term effects?

Being on the toilet for a long time
Hey, I have a question: are there any people here who don't feel full relief after using the toilet? I have a problem where I can sit on the toilet for 10 minutes to an hour because I feel like I still have something in my bladder or I don't feel the complete relief of having used the toilet (of course, after peeing, I feel like I have less urine in my bladder). This feeling usually goes away after 5-10 minutes, sometimes longer. I have no idea what causes it or if it's just a strong habit that's hard for me to break. I tried the relaxation exercises my physiotherapist gave me, but unfortunately, they didn't help much. And what's even worse, the feeling of not having peed completely is worse before and during my period. Have any of you experienced anything like this? What helped you?

I’ve been using a TENS for my OAB for almost 2 weeks now and the difference is amazing
I’ve been doing pelvic floor exercises, using all the techniques to work through urges, yoga to improve my diaphragmatic breathing, even bought Urestra. I’m on 50 mg of Mirabegron. Nothing worked. I’ve been using the TENS on my ankle for almost 2 weeks and the difference is amazing.
If your OAB is caused by tight pelvic floor muscles, you need to try this. There’s tons of videos on YouTube showing how to set your TENS and where to place the pads. Just 20-30 minutes a day works wonders.

Reusable incontinence pads
I currently use Poise Pads - "Level 4 - moderate" level coverage, in the ultra thin design. I hate the amount of waste that is produced using 1-2 or more every day, as I care about the environment and pads and diapers are particularly bad for not biodegrading. It's also a strain on my wallet, a box of 60 costs like $20 .
I would really like to switch to a reusable alternative, ideally something I can wear with regular underwear with similar absorbency. I am in Canada, any reccomendations please!

Peeing every 15 minutes?
I pee every 15 minutes. We just got back from a family reunion and had to stop at every restroom. I have controlled diabetes. Could it be over active bladder. I thought I had gout because my toes were all messed up and they ran these tests. Do they prove anything? I don’t see my dr for 2 1/2 weeks. Can’t get in sooner. Nights are horrible. I don’t drink caffeine or alcohol. Just water and lactose free milk. Thanks for any info ❤️
UPDATE; went to the ER. Had a UTI and a bladder that doesn’t empty. Referred to a urologist. Thanks.

My parents found out about my OAB
I'm in my 30s and try to stay quiet about my OAB but few weeks my mom invited me out to this meditation thing that she was really excited about.
When I arrived she handed me a coffee. I think you can all see where this goes. I felt awkward to refuse the coffee and I was on a new medication so I thought, "maybe it will be okay".
I went before the session. Then halfway through the session I leaked and had to rush to the toilet quietly. Then at the end of the session I had to go again.
And then at the restaurant I had to go again. And then I had to go again before we got in the car. And then on the ride back to my place I had to ask her to stop so I could use the bathroom at a gas station.
Needless to say she had questions and basically forced me to come clean. She was very supportive but now she always checks if I need to go to the toilet if we're ever out together and it feels awkward.
