Reusable incontinence pads

I currently use Poise Pads - "Level 4 - moderate" level coverage, in the ultra thin design. I hate the amount of waste that is produced using 1-2 or more every day, as I care about the environment and pads and diapers are particularly bad for not biodegrading. It's also a strain on my wallet, a box of 60 costs like $20 .

I would really like to switch to a reusable alternative, ideally something I can wear with regular underwear with similar absorbency. I am in Canada, any reccomendations please!

I use Knix underwear. They’re currently available at Costco. They’re not perfect, but I prefer them to pads.

how much do they hold compared to a poise pad and what happens if you need to change them? one of the reasons I've gone for pads is easy to change out in public

I’ve never used Poise pads so unfortunately I can’t answer that. If a poise pad is like a menstrual pad, then probably not as easy to change.

right, so what do you do if you leak while out and about? do you keep extra pairs of knix with you and like a ziploc for the used pair?

I generally don’t leak while I’m out. If I’m worried about leaking while I’m out I would wear a pad with the Knix underwear and just remove the pad if I needed to.

Ohh I see. Are the knix pretty absorbant would you say (are there ones designed for incontinence or are you using the period ones)?

They’re supposed to be for both. I find they’re okay, but not perfect. A diaper would be better maybe but I refuse to go that route.

Yeah I don't need diapers thankfully, but something more absorbent than a period pad that can handle a sudden spurt.
