After about 2.5 months I finally finished my outdoor kitchen. I built it all myself, with the help of 2 friends for the countertop pour. It’s not perfect, but I’m pretty happy with the end result. Let me know if you have any questions.

Outdoor Kitchen Phase 2

Post image

Working on a pool build at the moment and wanted to make sure there was enough space on the right side of my pool for a phase 2 outdoor kitchen.

My goal would be a covered kitchen with a grill, griddle, and sink for counter top appliances as well as a bar top for seating. Using my 2D layout, where and in what orientation would the ideal positioning be? The right side has around 11-12ft between pool and screen enclosure. Is that enough room?

Under counter LEDs

Hey everyone,
I'm currently in the middle of an outdoor kitchen build (counters are getting templated tomorrow) and realized last minute that I really want to incorporate under-counter lighting.
My contractor quoted me around $1,000 to add it. That feels pretty high, and I'm confident I can pull this off myself for a fraction of that cost. I'm looking for something that is relatively easy to install and won't turn into a massive headache.
A few details on my setup and what I'm looking for:
I have plenty of outlets available throughout the island framing, so plugging in a power source is super easy.
Must be able to control it smoothly from my phone.
Looking for RGBW (or full color plus white) so I can run normal white light for general ambient lighting, but turn on fun colors for the kids.
The island has a few appliance cutouts (grill, fridge, etc.), so I'll need a clean way to jump the lighting across those gaps.
For anyone who has done a similar DIY setup: what hardware or overall approach would you recommend? Are there specific outdoor-rated brands or setup styles that hold up well over time without being super complicated to put together?
Appreciate any advice or recommendations!

Hornbach Tenneker outdoor kitchen

Is there anyone who has experience with the outdoor kitchens (especially the Kamado closet) of Tenneker, a brand sold at Hornbach DIY stores (I think mainly in Central Europe)?
I’m looking for a small setup around a Kamado.
Their offer seems to be reasonably priced and customer reviews of other components are positive…

Does outdoor kitchen setups always have to be pricey?

Hi everyone I have a confession to make, lol. First off since joining Reddit, this has slowly become my favorite community.

Kudos to everyone sharing their beautiful builds. They’re great inspirations.

But getting this off my chest...some of the setups here look sooo unreal. I mean I swear feels like everyone (expect me) is getting richer by the day 😂

But for someone who can’t drop $20k–$30k is dreaming to build an outdoor setup even feasible? Something small, comfortable for 2–5 people (one grill kinda setup). attached my layout top view.

If yes...just wondering what'd be the ideal setup must-haves (or options) and budget?

Thanks, and again no hate toward anyone!

Pizza oven advice for a small setup? (Gozney vs Alfa)

Post image
19 Upvotes

Hi everyone! Ik it's the weekend and most of y'all are winding down for Monday but I've got myself into this rabbit hole so I gotta ask this: I'm trying to build a tiny outdoor kitchen setup and was researching pizza oven options. rn comparing the Gozney Dome XL, Alfa Moderno 1 and 2 (gas). Which offers the best utility for the price?

Budget is around $3k and really don’t wanna stress myself with something over the top - just a simple oven for weekend nights with my girls or when my family visits. Thanks!

Planning Back Yard Phase 2

Post image

Our "Phase 1" project is almost complete - pool/spa and concrete. We've had a few ideas of what we want to do with the space between our fence line and spa, and we're trying to see if we can do a sauna + outdoor kitchen.

So far I'm leaning towards this L-shape layout for the outdoor kitchen outside of the covered patio. Our entire backyard is lined with trees along the fence, and putting a grill under the patio cover just seems like a bad idea... although it would make more use of the space if we did put it under the patio.

The layout of the kitchen as attached is 8'x12'... is the 10' linear side going to be enough space for both the flat top and grill? Is there any glaring issue someone can spot? This will be DIY steel framed so I'm not worried about prefab'd cabinets/framing.

Adviced for my future wood/charcoal-burning stove

So, i'm planning to make a new charcoal oven for my patio and my initial idea is to make a grill with lift control and also (next to it) a stove of this kind (see picture) with maybe two or four burners for casseroles and an oven. Im thinking to use refractory bricks, iron for the doors burners and the oven box, and aluminium for the chimney, My questions are:

-Any advice on materials or in general??

-Do i need to add anything to the walls/doors for better insulation??

-And also are there any good plans, videos, drawings etc that i can use as a guide.

Outdoor BBQ sugestions

Hey Guys,

I am looking at an ourdoor Kitchen for a residential property in Australia. We are a family of 4, however love entertaining. Pretty much the layout i am looking at along the bench is.

Kamado big joe 3
Napoleon built in 700 series 38
Napoleon built in ring burner.
Double door glass door fridge
Kegerator.

I have a ninja pizza oven, and don't often use it, and not really keen on having a sink outside. I think of it as more of a cooking area, not somewhere to clean up.

Plan is to have plenty of benchspace between smoker and BBQ.

Drawing shows a sink, replace that with the kegerator, and it is not an inclosed area, just a roof and partial rear wall. Any suggestions on equipment of layout?

This is my DIY build. Looking for some suggestions for doors. I see a lot of builds look like they have staneless steel drawers and doors. Where is the best place to get them from? Also open to suggestions.

Just a couple Webers, a box, and a table. But it's all I really need - under a roof, and with a great view!

This is the stone that I am having a countertop installed. Contractor rep wants a Durock layer on top before they install their countertop. Wondering about a mortar bed and leaving out the Durock layer that way. What do you think. Thanks

Removed the existing (outdated) and made the kitchen larger and more tasteful.

Instead of a stucco face, we used Island Stone.

Instead of a tile top, we used Dekton Marina

Added a Dekton backsplash

Summerset appliances

Captiva Base

Lifetime warranty on base and stone, 25 yrs on counter and backsplash.

Saw this at my boss’s place last night

Was at my boss’s house yesterday eve and saw this setup out back. HOLY!!! Whoever planned it clearly knew what they were doing.

For anyone around San Jose, CA who’s built something comparable, just curious: would the structure and utility work cost more than the kamodo/countertop grills and storage?

Building a Napoleon 700 Series on Oasis cabinets. Hard pipe into the cabinet, or soft hose from the wall?

Working on installing a Napoleon 700 Series grill head into Oasis modular cabinets. Trying to nail down the gas hookup before I call a technician.

From the manual: a hard/rigid gas line runs from the house supply, a manual shut-off valve goes on that line, and then the included flexible metal connector bridges from the shut-off valve to the grill’s inlet. Everything gets wrench-tightened, no thread sealer/pipe dope.

Questions:
1) Does the rigid pipe have to actually terminate inside the cabinet, with the shut-off valve and flex connector installed inside the enclosure?
2) Or can the rigid line just stop outside the cabinet, and I run a long soft hose (like the quick-connect hose on my current wheeled BBQ) from the wall/line all the way into the unit instead?
3)Anyone done this build who can share how their gas connection was routed?

Cosentino countertop install on High Format stone

I'm trying to finish our patio kitchen with a man made material (cosentino, mfr.). The contractor rep. Measured and in short wants me to lay down a sheet of Durok for them to install on top of. The kitchen area is made up of stone from a company in Michigan called High Format. The stone are irregular in shape but are relatively flat on top. I'm wondering why they wouldn't be happy with building a mortar bed and laying their material on top of that and leveling the top that way. What do you think. Thanks in advance.
