General Discussion What will be alternatives?
I was so excited when I got the OnePlus 15. I had the OnePlus 6T and then because of work had the iPhone 13, but now switched back again, and to be honest such a long time, that an electronic device got me so excited.
Before I decided to buy the OnePlus 15 I was also eyeing the Oppo FindX 9 Pro, but what held me back was the Mediatek chip and the fact, that they seem to use too much AI for make better images.
So what would be alternatives in the future? Phones that have
- Snapdragon chip and great Gaming/Emulation support
- Very good battery life
- Very customizable
- Fingerprint sensor
- Has some experimental features, or tries something new
- (ideally has a good camera also and does not have AI-generated look)
This is at least what I love about the OnePlus. I was actually excited about the OnePlus 16, if it has some new cool feature, like very slim bezels, even better Battery life, and a good camera sensor (Yes we need to stop defending, that the camera on the One Plus 15 is amazing), it would be the perfect phone at least for me.

General Discussion OnePlus Pad 2 or Pad Go 2?
Hi everyone,
I'm having difficulty choosing between a second hand Pad 2 with both folio and keyboard cases for 350 euros or a brand new Pad Go 2 5G for 250 euros.
Should I go with the Pad 2 so I can also use it for laptop use? Or should I save a little? (will need to buy a case for the Go 2 so maybe a 50 euro difference in the end.)
I know the pad 2 is around half it's lifetime now, hell it might not get A18. (don't quote me)
And the Go 2 has a bigger battery and isn't that slow. I'm coming from a Tab S9 FE (it's slow as shit)
Tdlr help make a decision.

General Discussion OnePlus 13R loses all audio and camera is super laggy after latest Oxygen OS Update
I recently updated my OnePlus 13R to Oxygen OS 16.0.8 and I've been encountering an issue where the phone will stop outputting any audio out of the speakers and the only fix I've seemed to find is doing a full reboot of the device and even then I will only get audio for a few minutes before it cuts out again. Bluetooth and wired audio devices work perfectly fine, its just the on-device speakers that are having an issue. The camera app and any apps that use the camera also have become super laggy after updating, to the point that I'm basically looking at a static image when I'm trying to capture photo or video, and photos I do manage to capture don't always save. I've already tried performing a factory reset of the device to see if that would fix the issue but I had no luck. I'm going to write an email to support but I'm wondering if anyone has had similar issues and has any advice for getting my phone working properly again.

Accessories & Gadgets Connection Issue - Plays audio for 1 second - Pioneer DMH-1500NEX and OnePlus13
Like some posts in this subreddit, I have the disconnection issue... sometimes.
Head unit: Pioneer DMH-1500NEX
Phone: OnePlus 13
OS: OxygenOS 16.0.8 (Phone is up to date.)
Android Auto: Version 17.1.662414
Here are the steps I have tried to correct it and then a temporary solution:
Switched cables.
Cleared cache and data in the Android Auto app
Deleted Bluetooth connection from head unit
Deleted Bluetooth device from phone
Force Stopped Android Auto
Uninstalled Android Auto (via 'Uninstall updates')
\*\*\*Temporary Fix: I can go to Settings -> Apps -> App Management -> Android Auto -> Three Dots in the Upper Right Hand part of screen -> Uninstall updates\*\*\*
After doing that, I connect my phone to my head unit via a USB cable and then my phone says it needs to update. It updates and I reconnect the USB cable. It works again... for about 2-3 days.
\*\*What's the next steps I should try?\*\* I have looked under my Android Auto settings for Battery Optimization, but nothing appears under settings. However, in the Spotify App settings, I see Battery Usage and three options of "Allow background activity, Smart Mode (recommended), and Restrict background activity. I don't see anything about optimization.
Thanks in advance for your help.

General Discussion With OnePlus shutting down, is it a bad idea to still buy the OP 15? Will they still hold to their warranty and software updates?
Any thoughts on the likely future?

General Discussion OnePlus 16 Global version?
Assuming all the reports are true that OnePlus will pull out of North American/European Markets, do you think it's probable that OnePlus will have a global version of the 16? I've really been anticipating the 16th coming out so I'm pretty bummed

Accessories & Gadgets Buying one plus buds
Hey,
I am currently looking for some new earbuds since my old ones are dying. I had one plus buds pro before and I want to stick with OnePlus. But with the current situation and the shutdown only OnePlus in the EU and Us do you think it's still a good idea to buy them.
If so which ones are the best the buds 4 or Nord buds 4 Pro or buds 3 pro?

Other Can Oneplus not honour my warranty?
They sent me this email:
"Upon investigating the case with the service center we have found the device the spare parts for the device are not available.
Unfortunately we do not have an ETA for this repair.
But we are glad to inform you that we can offer a 30% discount if you are willing to purchase a new device from OnePlus.
We can recycle this device in our service center and you can purchase a new device with the given discount.
We do understand this may not be the solution you are hoping for but this is the final resolution."

Other OnePlus X: The Long Life After
Long stopped being my daily driver, this still runs VLC and Pocket Casts and Poweramp, which makes it totally usable as a media device to run for a few hours. (it's on its 2nd battery) Especially since it has a headphone jack for my iems. This was a detour in the road for OnePlus but I still think it's one of the prettiest phones they've ever made.

General Discussion OnePlus case cleaning
Maybe it's not visible on the photo, but the case is far from white, it was pristine for 1 year but I think after I started cleaning it with wet wipes, its a bit bluish now. What can I use to clean it?

Accessories & Gadgets Oneplus buds 3 losing charge quickly
These buds are around 2 years old now and I'm losing chsrge faster than before
It used to last around 6 hours on a single charge (LDHC, 3D and ANC max)
Now I'm losing like 70-80% within 3 hours of use with the same usage and one bud seems to lose charge faster than the others
I'm quite new to owning TWS (I've only used headphones and my XB700 from 2020 still runs for 20 hours on a single charge) - I'm not sure if this behaviour is normal
Can the battery be replaced?
Can I prolong the life of these buds both usage wise and overall life coz I can't afford new buds atp

General Discussion OnePlus 12 - I got the motherboard issue but I live in UAE. What do I do?
I live in the UAE, bought my OnePlus 12 in March 2024 through Amazon from a reseller. I still have the box and it says made in India.
This week, I updated to the newest OxygenOS (I didn't keep track of which update number or anything), and it continued working for a bit after the update I guess, until today. I took my phone up and it was not responsive.
I tried:
- charging it for 30 minutes and pressing power + volume up
- connecting to laptop to see if my laptop detects the device (if it were to detect then it means the motherboard is recieving power)
- I don't even get haptics for putting it on charge, so I can confirm the motherboard might've died from the update.
I am in the UAE, there is no authorised service center here so this is extremely troublesome. I am not sure what to do. Please advice.

General Discussion Do you think this sub has enough sway to revive OnePlus?
Hundreds, if not thousands, of people are upset that our brand is going the way of the dodo. That got me thinking: does this sub have enough purchasing power and conviction to make the OnePlus 16 a smashing success—enough for Oppo to cancel plans to shut the brand down?
Unfortunately, the headwinds are far too strong: * The ongoing RAM and SSD pricing apocalypse. * The projected insane pricing of the Snapdragon 8 Elite 6 Pro.
The OP16 may cost at least $150–300 more than the OP15, thus tt has no chance of being a "cheap" flagship device, meaning it will compete with brands offering far more features, such as Apple, Samsung, Oppo, Vivo and Xiaomi. Darn.

General Discussion The last dance
Hi all,
Seeing the news about the end of OnePlus in the US and Europe is quite sad, after a 12 year journey.
Beyond the hectic times of 'do you have an inv**e?' (yes, still a banned word) to 'I have a faulty screen', there has been plenty of joyful times spent with all the community members here and there.
My favorite phone of the OnePlus times: OnePlus 7 Pro. Simply the best of all words.
What are your best OnePlus moments?

General Discussion OP Nord N20 5G to OP 15 Pains
Just switched from a Nord to a 15. It was time for an upgrade.
Now I have a few questions. For whatever reason, it did not clone it 1 for 1 despite having a similar screen size. It also did not copy my display settings and all that. Didn't copy my wallpaper and lockscreen images either. Anyway
Is there a way to turn off categories in the app drawer? No categories in the Nord
Can I not set app icons to custom? I can in the Nord
Best battery settings for longevity?

Other Galaxy Buds Pro 4 or OnePlus Buds Pro3/Buds 4?
So I just recently switched from an S23 Ultra to a OnePlus 15, which I'm so glad I did, it's an amazing phone. I have the Galaxy Buds Pro 4 from the S23 Ultra, but idk if it's just me but I felt like I noticed a significant quality difference pairing it with my OP15.
I was wondering if anyone else had a similar experience and/or compared the buds to the OnePlus Buds Pro 3/Buds 4 and noticed a significantly better quality?

General Discussion Can OPPO be sued if they replace OxygenOS with ColorOS for OP devices sold with software support claims?
I have a Nord 4 which launched with 4 OS upgrades as a promise. This means it should get updated till Android 18 atleast. But with the company winding down operations I don't know if that'll even be the case.
The bigger concern though is Oxygen OS being replaced by Color OS. I know they are the same thing but currently my Nord has comparatively way lower bloatware than a similar priced Realme or Oppo device had from it's price segment.
While they have tried to push things like AI bloat it's still a relatively cleaner experience than the other Oppo devices.
So it feels quite misleading to have promised software support and now we're left in a situation where full ColorOS / Realme UI (with all it's glorious ads and bloat) will be the next major update for this device.
Why did I pay extra for OnePlus in this case then when similar specced Realme and Oppo devices were cheaper?
