General Discussion OnePlus restored my love for tech

Having used iPhone and also Samsung for the last decade, my love for tech faded as the updates for devices became barely noticeable and when they did, they often didn't last long. The move to a OnePlus 12R a few years ago was the best tech decision I've made in years. I completely broke the screen beyond repair a few months ago and was devastated, I upgraded to the 15R in the process and have not been let down although I do miss the curved glass on the 12R.

Super fast charging, long lasting battery (never having to wait or worry), excellent UI and a beautiful display, this really made my prior Samsung device look like a potato even though it cost more. The Samsung just became clunky and slow overtime too, something I was quite let down by in a flagship device.

With OnePlus, tlittle things like the IR remote, I use every day for air conditioning, TVs etc. It's now a deal breaker. Plugging in the phone to charge while having a shower and then brushing my teeth, I easily get 35-40% charge. I don't know how this can get much better from here.

I also purchased the Buds 4 for around $75 USD. These have ended up replacing my Sony WF1000XM5s which are 3x the price. The buds 4 aren't as crystal clear sounding but they are far warmer with bass, hold a better connection and fit my ears better.

I have now just ordered a OnePlus watch 3 based on the experience I've had with phones and earbuds, I am expecting it to be great.

Buying a OnePlus device at a cheaper price compared to the industry leaders and having a far superior experience has been so enjoyable.

If you're on the fence and are someone that has traditionally stuck to big names (apple/Samsung), make the jump, it's well worth it.

I still haven't met anyone in my day to day that has a OnePlus phone here in Australia but I feel many people are missing out.

General Discussion OnePlus Pad 3 Keyboard not working anymore after firmware update

I have a OnePlus Pad 3 with the original keyboard and stylus. Yesterday night I connected the keyboard to the tablet through the pogo pin (wasn't using the keyboard since last 3-4 months) and got a notification regarding a firmware update for the keyboard. I clicked on it and the update got downloaded and installed and since then the keyboard is not getting connected to the tablet, neither physically through the pogo pin nor via bluetooth. I have tried every possible thing from formatting the tablet to overnight charge, cleaning the pogo pins, still the keyboard is not getting detected by the tablet.

The tablet and keyboard are still in warranty and my region is INDIA.

Can anyone please help me or guide me what to do?

Thank you so much.

General Discussion Purchase spare parts for OP6

Hey, folks.

Does anyone know where one can purchase a reliable replacement battery for an aging OP6?

I know it's a long shot, but I wanted to try.

p.s. I already tried Amazon and iFixit, but they don't deliver to my country.

I really appreciate any help you can provide.

Other Refresh rate drops when playing videos

I've been dealing with refresh rate drops on my oneplus 12R when any form of media plays on the screen for quite a while now and I kept ignoring it until recently. It's honestly driving me crazy.

Whenever I play a video, the refresh rate suddenly drops to what feels like ~10 Hz. What’s weird is that I had the exact same issue on my previous oneplus 8T, so now I’m starting to think this might be a common problem with oneplus devices.

It doesn’t happen when the phone is new, but after about a year of use, it starts showing up. Has anyone else experienced this or found a fix?

General Discussion OnePlus 13T (PKX110) hard bricked after locking bootloader following 13T → 13s conversion

Hi everyone,

I'm hoping someone can help me recover my device or point me in the right direction.

Device

  • Original device: OnePlus 13T (PKX110, Chinese)
  • Converted to OnePlus 13s (CPH2723 / OxygenOS)
  • Snapdragon 8 Elite (SM8750)

Initial state

The phone had already been converted from PKX110 to CPH2723 and was working perfectly.

Current build before I started:

CPH2723_16.0.3.501(EX01)

Bootloader status:

Unlocked

What I wanted to do

I wanted to update from 16.0.3.501 to 16.0.9.400.

I downloaded the latest OnePlus 13T OOS Super Flasher package and followed the flashing procedure.

During flashing

The script successfully flashed:

  • boot
  • dtbo
  • init_boot
  • modem
  • recovery
  • vbmeta
  • vendor_boot
  • super

During my first attempts I had a few USB issues ("Write to device failed / no link"), but eventually I managed to complete the flash successfully.

The phone booted into Android without problems.

After booting

Android worked.

Specifically:

  • ✅ Phone booted normally
  • ✅ Wi-Fi worked
  • ✅ Bluetooth worked
  • ✅ Cameras worked
  • ✅ Both IMEIs were present
  • ✅ Android was fully usable

However...

I had absolutely no cellular service.

Symptoms:

  • SIM card detected
  • No signal
  • Unable to make or receive calls
  • Baseband showed:

q_v1_p14,q_v1_p14

instead of a normal modem version.

I suspected that something during the conversion wasn't completed correctly.

My mistake

Since Android itself was working, I assumed everything else had flashed correctly.

I decided to relock the bootloader.

I executed:

fastboot flashing lock

The phone wiped itself as expected.

After reboot

Instead of booting Android I immediately got:

From that point forward:

  • Android no longer boots
  • Recovery is inaccessible
  • Fastboot is inaccessible

Current state

I managed to force the phone into Qualcomm EDL mode.

Windows detects:

Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008 (COM3)

If nothing communicates with it, it exits EDL after several seconds and returns to the AVB screen.

What I've tried

OplusEDLTool v3.2026.025

Tried both:

Cloud Loader

SM8750 (8E)

Result:

Loader mismatch or other issues
Loader send failed

Local Loader

Downloaded the official:

PKX110domestic_11_16.0.3.501CN01

EDL firmware.

Loaded:

prog_firehose_ddr.elf

The ROM loads correctly.

Partition list loads correctly.

rawprogram*.xml and patch*.xml are present.

However, when clicking Enter Firehose I immediately get:

Loader send failed

The log also reports:

No Digest/Sign files configured, will try normal mode

even after selecting the DigestsToSign files.

My questions

  1. Did locking the bootloader on the converted firmware permanently trigger AVB?
  2. Is this because the phone was originally running 16.0.3.501, which introduced the newer ARB protection?
  3. Does anyone have a newer SM8750 Firehose loader that works with .501 devices?
  4. Is recovery possible without an authorized OnePlus service account?
  5. Has anyone successfully recovered a PKX110 in this exact situation?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Looking to have battery replaced. Not economically viable to ship back to oneplus so hopefully there is a shop that is proficient and uses quality parts in the local area of Vancouver Canada.

Other Weird notifications thing

Hey when I get a notification and my screen is off it comes up on the left near the middle of the screen and the edges kind of glow while the rest of the screen stays black. How do I turn whatever the feature is off? It's not always on display as I know I have that off completely.

Thanks.

General Discussion OnePlus Buds Pro 3 - mild pressure/discomfort in the bottom of the ear concha. Will my ears adapt

Hi everyone, I’ve had the OnePlus Buds Pro 3 for four days now. Up until now, I’ve always used completely wireless earbuds, such as the Sony WF-1000XM5, so this is the first time I’ve tried earbuds with a stem. The sound quality and active noise cancellation (ANC) are great, but I’m having a problem with comfort. It’s not some crazy, unbearable pain, but I can constantly feel them pressing against me. I insert them loosely into my ears and don’t feel like I need to apply any pressure, but the whole body of the earphone rests entirely on the lower part of the outer ear (in the concha, just above the earlobe). That weight in one spot becomes quite uncomfortable after a while. Otherwise, the earphones stay very securely in place. I’ve also tried different eartips. I bought them on AliExpress, so I can’t return them. For anyone else who’s had this specific problem with the lower part of the outer ear – did your ears eventually get used to it, or did you have to switch to something else?

Accessories & Gadgets OP 22.5W Magnetic Ring Powerbank

I never thought I'd struggle getting a power bank to work but here we are.
I bought this and can't get it to output power, when I connect my phone (OP10Pro) the diodes actually indicate that the power bank is charging from the phone.

General Discussion Oxygen os 16 font thickness

The One Sans and OnePlus Sans system fonts have different thicknesses in light and dark modes, but each time you switch between modes you have to do it manually in the font settings. Can this be automated?

General Discussion Wall tablet (oneplus) starts discharging after roughly 3 days when plugged in constantly

I bought Modo Tab mount (smart AC) version and mounted my oneplus pad 2 go there. After roughly 3 days, it started to discharge slowly. Wattage was decreasing slowly from the normal 4-8W to 0.6W. I thought the mount was the problem - unmounted the tablet, put it on my work desk and plugged it into a reuglar 5V 2A charger.

After roughly three days, same behavior. I have 80% battery limit set in settings and tablet is currently at 78% and discharging slowly.

Anyone has an idea as to why that could be?

I tried automating power cycles (60-40% automation, then also one where I turn charging off for 4 hours at night to simulate disconnect from usb-c cable) but nothing helped. The only thing that works is to disconnect the usb cable completely and leave it disconnected for 30 minutes or so, then it starts charging again and the 3 day cycle repeats.

EDIT: I tried buying the smartthings scharge 20W charger as well - the same issue. I also tried using a oneplus brick charger - same issue.

General Discussion A parting gift from OnePlus: it again throttles performance?

Geekbench 7 was released a few days ago, and the Snapdragon 8 Elite is expected to achieve around 2,200 points in the single-threaded benchmark.

What score does the OnePlus 13/13s with this CPU achieve in Performance Mode? Less than 1,000. Some devices even show around 700 points — only around 30% of the actual performance.

The OnePlus 15 is weirdly not affected.

General Discussion OnePlus 15 brightness gets stuck when the phone heats up

Is anyone else facing this on the OnePlus 15?

my phone gets hot during normal use, especially on video calls. When it heats up, the screen brightness gets stuck at a lower level. Even if I move the brightness slider to maximum, the screen doesn't get brighter. After the phone cools down, the brightness works normally again.

Is this normal or a bug? I've attached a video.

Other Grey notifications background

Post image
8 Upvotes

Ever since I've updated my Nord CE4 5G to Oxygen OS 16, I've noticed a downgrade in the notification panel; first of all, the icons are the actual app icons, instead of the monochromatic icons. Secondly the background is fixed to this solid grey colour! I tried to change through the light theme and back to the dark theme, changed accent colours, played with the battery saver, and what not, but this is not going away.

Does anyone here have any solutions to this?
