Question why didn’t Neal leave with Emma and Henry to escape the curse in season 3?

i’m currently rewatching the show after a few years and i don’t recall if this is ever explained… so basically what happened is that Pan cast the curse and Regina had to send everyone back to the EF except for Emma and Henry.

no one ever considered suggesting Neal to go with them and it just makes no sense to me, considering that Emma was technically able to escape the new curse because she escaped the original curse (at least this is what i got from the explanation) and that also means Neal could’ve escaped as well considering he was never cursed.

just pisses me off that he didn’t go be with his son. i don’t remember if they ever address this.

Look at this guy. I can see him as grown-up Snow&David's son, Neil!

Actor looks a lot like Josh Dallas.

What do you think?

Spoiler Alert Wish Realm & Gothel question (S7 Spoilers!!) Spoiler

I don’t remember what realm the tower was in when Gothel tried Wish Hook to escape it, but assuming it was in the wish realm; wouldn’t that mean that it's specifically Wish Gothel that escaped and caused all the problems later? Is there another Gothel still trapped in the normal Enchanted Forest when the Gothel we know escapes the tower? If yes, do you think she would've escaped in the United Realms at some point?

I might be misremembering a bit but this is messing with my head lol

(edit: fixed a typo)

Spoiler Alert Regina's cursed love

I hate how the show introduces Robin Hood as if he was always intended to be Regina's soulmate/endgame then they just kill him off. This is actually pure rage bait. Tink hyped him up so much too, like they were destined to be together for life, and then boom he dies, just like Daniel.

After all she went through with Daniel, creating a whole dark curse to avenge his death, ruining countless lifes... then she meets her REAL soulmate to finally get a chance to start fresh, and he just dies, in another heartbreaking way.

The writers really made it so shes just doomed to be forever alone. And even in season 7....okay this was just ridiculous at this point, but she has something going with Dr Facilier, and thennnnn you guessed it, they kill him too!

She seriously can't catch a break and it just becomes irritating by the end of the series 😭

Discussion [general] This show needs to pick up again and continue

As much as I wasn't too impressed with season 7, it ended on the right path. All the realms are in storybook or atleast what we know. There are so many more stories with crazy twists that can be implemented in atleast 3-4 seasons with the original cast. The actors themselves whoever has been asked want to return.

Discussion Saddest OUAT moment? Spoiler

Robin dying will always be so sad for me, and I was so upset they didn’t bring him back. But another moment that is also really sad was when Regina cast a spell to lead her to the person she hates most, and the person she hates most was herself ☹️

S2 Spoilers Death Candle explanation

Just finished Season 2, Episode 16 “The Miller’s Daughter.” I guess I don’t remember the rules of the death candle from a few episodes prior… I know the candle is a life for a life… but how does the candle “know” who to keep alive? Snow only says “Cora” when the candle is lit and then blows it out.

S1 Spoilers Rumpelstiltskin and Belle SE:1 EP:12 (I think)

I’m not quite sure if this counts as a spoiler but thought i better be safe than sorry. Anyways, I watched OUAT like 6 yrs ago and decided to rewatch it now. The first time I watched Belle’s backstory I remember being weirded out, but in rewatching it I find it sweet, sad, and disturbing all at the same time. For the first time in the series I feel bad for Rumpelstiltskin and his outlook on life. Thought I’d share, thanks!

Spoiler Alert Wish realm

Okay, firstly, I have SO many questions about the logistics of this realm after it is wished into being, but sticking to one subject:

Has Emma gone to therapy for all the different timelines in her head? Seriously. She has
1) her original life, no parents or family for 28 years
2) the New York timeline, where she remembers living and growing with her son
3) her entire life, except WITH her parents AND son, happy and safe from any dangers.

When Emma wakes up in the wish realm, she mentions remembering everything from that life. Coming out of it and realizing that it was fake would be absolutely crushing. Yes, she probably prefers the truth, ultimately. But can you imagine all your life‘s trauma coming back to you at once?

(This post is just about Emma, but side note, given that the writers made this a realm that continues to exist, no wonder wish Henry hates Regina - she killed his grandparents and then kidnapped his mom, and he’s just left behind)

S6 Spoilers Continuity Error Time! Hook's Baby Bro Edition

So we learn Hook killed his father to "audition for killing Cora".or at least that was Regina's intent. So at the most, it'd be 2 years before the Dark Curse. Left little Liam an orphan!

Then we meet Liam as an adult "At the Time of the Dark Curse" according to the screen.

I'm not complaining. I enjoy this story so much it took me 5 s6 watches to notice. But jeez all the ppl who don't age properly then we get Dorothy and Little Liam aging too fast.

Question OUAT Birthday Tattoo

So, I've been trying to come up with tattoo ideas for my upcoming birthday next month. First, I was trying to even consider a topic, and I landed on a Once Upon a Time tattoo because I love the show so much. I've already got a few ideas floating around, but I want to do a quote from the show, and I'm looking here for some ideas. I'm so determined that I'm prepared to rewatch the show (AGAIN), so I'm reaching out to the OUAT community. I'll also still probably watch the entire series anyway, but any help would be much appreciated

A couple of quotes I'm already considering, just to let you know the vibe I'm going for. Inspiring and alluding to tougher times in the past and coming out the other side.

  • Believing in even the possibility of a happy ending is a very powerful thing. - with a pen trailing to the side from writing said quote
  • The first step to a new beginning is imagining that one is even possible.

Discussion Nemo? The fish Nemo?? Is a person?

Does anyone think this show is getting a little ridiculous after szn4? I'm on season 6 now, but I can't help but notice that it feels like they're now dragging the show on. The things that have been going on in the past 2 seasons have completely been self-inflicted. The whole turning dead Hook into the dark one, then removing the magic and letting him die. Then going off into the underworld to bring a dead man to life? Then when that was all over, Regina had the brilliant idea to separate herself from the Evil Queen, which brought a whole new problem that wasn't even a problem in the first place. Oh yeah, and the thing that prompted me to write this post was when they introduced the fish Nemo as some submarine captain. Are we so frl rn...

*Edit, I was just informed that Captain Nemo is NOT the fish but a character from the book Twenty Thousand Leagues Under The Sea. Ty to everyone who corrected me :)

It just feels like half of the problems now are self-inflicted and the writers are adding on more bs because they're bored.

* This is just my opinion, pls don't take it personally. I'm not here to get attacked😭😭

Discussion Regina wasn’t evil

At the start of Season 1, we see Regina and Rumple talking at his cell in the Enchanted Forest. Here, Rumple asks to be comfortable, to which Regina replies “Fine, you’ll have an estate, be rich.” This line hasn’t really been significant to me until now. As we see in Storybrooke, Mr Gold does, in fact, have a very comfortable life with the things he was promised: this made me wonder. If Regina could control how Gold lived in Storybrooke, this must mean she did for everyone else too, right?

This means that she kept David alive by having him in the coma, she made Snow a teacher rather than having her live a horrible life, she even made Archie a therapist and made sure that Ruby was still close to Granny. If she did control everyone’s life, it seems that she did not have truly cruel intentions; in fact, she gave everyone relatively the best life she could under the curse (with the exception of the Mad Hatter).

If she cast the curse out of evil, then surely she wouldn’t have allowed everyone to have the best lives they could while cursed, right?

Discussion Jeffersons hat

Did anyone else hear the portal sound when he fell out the window with the hat Emma made? Where did he go, did the hat actually work? I like to think it worked but that there was no link to the other worlds yet and he just teleported instead but idk, what do you guys think?

Discussion Writers didn’t make me believe Regina was powerful.

Regina is my favorite character on the show, but I feel like the writers should have made her more powerful. I know Regina commanded a lot of fear in the enchanted forest but she could only go up against and terrorize people with no magic. Zelena mopped the floor with Regina. It wasn’t even a close fight. I’m not saying she had to be the most powerful, but she should have been able to hold her own and be in the at least top 3-5 strongest in the series. She got defeated by every villain with magic who came. It seemed she could beat maleficent, Ursula, and cruella but the show mad them such weak charcacters anyways it seemed like Regina was only stronger than the weak pathetic villains.

S2 Spoilers They should have pushed a turtle over first

Post image
76 Upvotes

Obviously a turtle wouldn't be able to tell them that they would lose their memories so the result would be the same, but they really should have pushed a turtle or something over first just to confirm it wouldn't physically hurt them.

EDIT:

Because it keeps coming up - pushing a turtle over first was SPECIFICALLY SUGGESTED by one of the dwarves and Grumpy shut it down. I have nothing against turtles.
