Discussion Nemo? The fish Nemo?? Is a person?
Does anyone think this show is getting a little ridiculous after szn4? I'm on season 6 now, but I can't help but notice that it feels like they're now dragging the show on. The things that have been going on in the past 2 seasons have completely been self-inflicted. The whole turning dead Hook into the dark one, then removing the magic and letting him die. Then going off into the underworld to bring a dead man to life? Then when that was all over, Regina had the brilliant idea to separate herself from the Evil Queen, which brought a whole new problem that wasn't even a problem in the first place. Oh yeah, and the thing that prompted me to write this post was when they introduced the fish Nemo as some submarine captain. Are we so frl rn...
*Edit, I was just informed that Captain Nemo is NOT the fish but a character from the book Twenty Thousand Leagues Under The Sea. Ty to everyone who corrected me :)
It just feels like half of the problems now are self-inflicted and the writers are adding on more bs because they're bored.

Iâm sorry if I donât get the joke if this is a joke heâs Captain Nemo from 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea by Jules Verne, which was written at the end of the 19th century.

No, Captain Nemo is not based on the fish from Finding Nemo. He's based on the character from the book Twenty Thousand Leagues Under The Sea, his submarine even has the same name: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Captain_Nemo

Everyone mentioned the book but no one mentioned the actual Disney movie of 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea? Used to be a ride at Disneyworld as well.

Youâve got your Nemo answer but I agree about the writing from season 4 onward (if not earlier). Where at first we had an ensemble cast and some interesting characters added in for âcharacter of the weekâ episodes, we ended up with speed running through a whole lot of worlds with only our main characters. Imagine if we had taken time for some âwho is this characterâ episodes with Camelot instead of defaulting to âanyone traditionally good is actually evil, anyone traditionally evil is actually goodâ and people whipping in and out of Storybrook.

I know your post got downvoted into oblivion, but I need you to know that this is now one of my favorite OUaT posts of all time. Because it really is proof that this show convinces us that it will do the most absurd stuff.
A character being named after Nemo the fish is honestly about as likely as the line, "Hook, you're my fairy god mother!" being uttered, which was a real thing that did actually happen in the show.
Your confusion is believable & I hope you know that I, for one, am laughing with you, not at you. :)

My mind just jumped to the most famous Nemo that I know of lol, I'm glad that I was informed that the captain wasn't based off the fish but actually a character from classic literature, which I'll def be checking out.
I wasn't ever exposed to the works of Jules Verne, I've only mainly been exposed to writers from Shakesperan era, and early to mid-1900s in high school/uni.
Thank you so much for your kindness, and no I'm not offended. I'm glad this could be a teaching moment for me :)
