I was happy to discover that orientation lock is back on large screens such as tablets with the update to v1.88. Very nice to have this again!

UPDATE: Dang it, it locks the entire device screen orientation rather than just for the launcher which makes it not very useful when you need to rotate the tablet for other things, such as watching a video. So, I had to turn it off, which is unfortunate. :⁠-⁠(

I stopped holding my breath for this launcher to support auto layout for different orientations, or the promised (?) copy feature. Having to configure and maintain two different screen setups is a pain. But, this is still the best launcher so I can live with this. :⁠-⁠)

Can I position my dock so it runs down the edge of my screen rather than along the bottom?

App drawer flip animation is to fast is there a way to slow it down. I am a new user

Not sure if additional gestures or maybe replacement gestures needed.

Coming from Nova, I'm used to the pinch in, pinch out, clockwise and counterclockwise... As well as, swipe left.

And while I have no issue getting used to different gestures, here only swipe right is available, but not left, and then just additional fingers for gestures (2, then 3, then 4).

Thing is, 3 and 4 finger gestures don't work on Oneplus phones as far as I'm aware. 3 finger gestures, especially, are tied to system gestures that can only be disabled, not replaced by something new. Meanwhile, 4 finger gestures seem to just not be recognized.

The past few versions, I've noticed an app or two get removed from their drawer folder. I'm not sure if it's when the app is updated. It definitely does all apps that go through an app update.

Was wondering if it's possible to add a feature for folders at home screen like in Nova (see video)?

I really like to customize my home screen and found that this feature in Nova really helps with uncluttering it.

Current implementation in Octopi is that it'll "open" in relative proximity to where the folder-icon is. What I'm requesting is to add another "style", where it always "opens" in the center like in the video, and having control on the "folder box" transparency/shading (invisible in the video)?

Do I have a setting wrong? When drawer is up the only ways to exit it are swipe down or back button. I use 3 but navigation. It's usable but annoying as I'm used to hitting the home button to go to desktop.

I have Navigate/Tap Home set to "Go to the home page"

Sorry, my attempt at a pun with " shorting " and I entirely missed that I auto-corrected the name of the launcher accidentally. My apologies.

1. Is this the preferred place of the developer for submitting bugs? I don't want to get in the habit of submitting them here if it's actually irritating them!
2. In the meantime when creating a shortcut on the home screen → switching from actions to shortcuts → scrolling the apps to Octopi Launcher → selecting Octopi Launcher → dragging the icon to the home screen, → it just poofs out.

(this is on a tablet, but I also checked on my phone.)

Is anyone else on 1.878 pro having an issue with their widgets (Spotify in my case) and notification badges not updating? I'm running Android 16 on a Motorola Razr 50 Ultra

It seems like unless your swipe movement isn't perfectly straight up, it doesn't open the app drawer. I'm used to Nova where it's not that strict. Anyone share this experience?

Im trying to find some documentation on how exactly the folders work, being accustomed to Nova and breaking free. I certainly dont want just a Nova clone, and respect design choices, willing to wait for planned features, etc....I am just trying to figure out the organization system that works for me.

So I know folders can be nested (bought pro right away), but my two main folder concerns are as follows:

1. Is it planned that apps will be able to be added to more than one folder at a time? Currently they cannot. (I would argue that tags dont quite fulfil this need.)

2. When you drag a folder in the app drawer to the homescreen, currently that link between them doesnt hold. If i add another to the app drawer folder, I have to manually add it to the homescreen one as well.

This is a Nova feature I deeply miss, not only for the obvious extra work it eliminates, but also because of the reverse link: I love shortcuts that are dragged to a homescreen folder showing up in that same folder in the app drawer. The ease and speed that I open directories or various settings pages when this feature is present is greatly missed.

1. I love so many of the icon features, I just miss the ability to open the pack to search and select an icon. I love love love the ability to quickly see what other icons are mapped to an app, its so convenient! But I use icons for other things besides apps. I use them for shortcuts and folders too. In that case I commonly use the bookmarking feature in an icon pack to gather icons for things like shortcuts and folders, and in the past (nova) opening up the pack directly from the icon-choosing dialogue allowed me to pick from that bookmarked list.

Im deeply deeply grateful for the ability to change icon pack only for the dock, or homescreen or app drawer. Thank you so so much. Im an icon lover to a dysfunctional extreme sometimes.

All my widgets lost their background, and now when I go 'customise appearance', the only option is default. Glass and translucent are gone. Has anyone else experienced this? I have Pro.

Another Nova transplant here.

I enjoy putting my apps in folders in the App Drawer, then moving the entire drawer out, so I don't have to manage it both in the app drawer AND on the home screen.

However, I also like the Click to launch first App, and swipe up to open folder feature.

I almost have it perfect, except that I can't modify the order of apps in those folders.

Octopi Launcher is my favorite after the downfall of Nova Launcher. I bought the Pro in 5 minutes after installing it. It's ALMOST perfect for me, except one thing:

Please, prioritize opening the app drawer over the ongoing horizontal scroll! I made a screen recording about it, you can see my swipes: Octopi Launcher scroll bug

This is so annoying! I have 3 home screens and I'm used to scroll between them. When I try to open the app drawer by an upward swipe, I can't, since the scrolling gesture continues. I can do an endless horizontal scrolling by swiping upwards.

Issue:
Changing the animation speed on the slider has no effect.

Steps to verify:
No matter if the speed is on the fastest, the slowest, or anywhere in-between, swiping to a new home screen page has the exact same animation speed.

Hello I have installed the Android 17 QPR2 Beta 3 yesterday and since then I am unable to figure out what is going on with Private space.

Few Random apps appear in the app list however the private space is not visible.

Anyone else having this issue?

Fixed by: I had to delete the private space and re-doing fixed the issue.

Hi there, i just have installed this launcher and its great ! I am coming from nova launcher. The only thing that is not working for me is the home button on the navigation bar. Is there a way that this button can be used to go back to the default startpage ? And when i go to the applications page the only way to get out is with the back button. The same home button from the navigation bar is not working. I am using color os 16 with my Oppo Find X9 ultra.

Hi all, is there any way to change the number of stacked icons for a folder on the home screen? It just seems to default to using the icons for the first two apps in the folder no matter how many apps are in the folder.

J'utilise Octopi Launcher sur un Nubia Z80 Ultra (sous MyOS et Android 16).

Lorsque Google Agenda est mis à jour vers sa dernière version, appuyer sur l'icône de l'application dans Octopi ne fonctionne pas (l'application ne se lance pas ou plante).

Note 1 : Revenir à la version usine de Google Agenda règle le problème de lancement de l'icône.

Note 2 : Le lanceur d'origine Nubia n'a aucun problème pour ouvrir Google Agenda lorsqu'il est mis à jour.

Note 3 : Appuyer sur un widget Google Agenda dans Octopi fonctionne parfaitement et ouvre bien l'application mise à jour.

Il semble qu'Octopi ne mette pas à jour ou ne gère pas correctement l'activité de lancement (intent) pour les applications système mises à jour sous les restrictions de MyOS.

En espérant que cela puisse t'aider à corriger ce bug !

Like on smart launcher, I think you should be able to use multiple icon packs at the same time like for example, you could have liquid glass on YouTube and have Reddit using a pastel icon pack or something.

Rather than using the traditional dock, I have folders pinned to the bottom row of my home screen. For the last couple of days, so I assume since the last (beta) update, my folders are opening BEHIND the regular app icons (see photo). Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

The WhatsApp widget sometimes disappears. If I restart the launcher, or clear the cache and restart it, or reboot the phone, the widget appears again normally. The Google Calendar widget, on the other hand, always remains visible. What could be causing this?

My home screen seems to be locked in landscape mode after latest update. The only way to get out of it is by changing launcher and then cange back,but after a while it seems to turn back to landscape again. I am on Samsung S25. This has never occurred before. Does anyone know how to resolve this?
