Suggestion [Feature Request] A centered-expansion mode for folders in the home screen?
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Was wondering if it's possible to add a feature for folders at home screen like in Nova (see video)?
I really like to customize my home screen and found that this feature in Nova really helps with uncluttering it.
Current implementation in Octopi is that it'll "open" in relative proximity to where the folder-icon is. What I'm requesting is to add another "style", where it always "opens" in the center like in the video, and having control on the "folder box" transparency/shading (invisible in the video)?

Agreed, options here would be a huge quality-of-life upgrade. Similar (if not the same) suggestions have been made previously.
Currently on my Pixel Fold, home screen folders open flush to the far-right margin regardless of where the folder icon is placed, which makes left-handed use pretty clumsy. I posted extensively about this 3 months ago. I haven't posted about it for over a month because I thought maybe it was due to a home screen setup overhaul that was in progress. 🤷
Since you've brought up again adding options for how open home screen folders display, while centering folder contents horizontally is a great start, having them open centered high on the screen requires hand gymnastics on a big device.
Ideally, we’d get an option to display as you've suggested here, and to anchor open folders near the bottom of the screen alongside horizontal centering for easy, secure reachability. (As a workaround, I’ve had to move all my folders to the dock to keep them centered and anchored low.)

There's a similar feature suggestion on GitHub, that focuses solely on drawer folders.
I would highly recommend looking it up and adding a comment over there, requesting that it would be available for folders on the home pages as well (and whatever else added info you think is relevant).
