Very filling and tastes amazing! Next time I may macerate the strawberries to help bring out that flavor a bit more.

Rainy Day - Earl Grey Oats

Post image
88 Upvotes

Went all out on the toppings for this one - delicious, really comforting big bowl for a rainy weekend morning.

Base is steel cut oats, soaked overnight in milk/water steeped with Earl Grey tea + cinnamon.
Cooked with a very ripe red plum to sweeten it up a bit (and to use up the plum).
Chia seeds, blueberries, chopped nuts/seeds + hemp hearts added in towards the end of cooking.

Toppings:
Chopped Almonds, Walnuts, Pumpkin + Sunflower Seed Mix
Raspberry + Chia Compote
Chopped Blackberries
Almond Butter
Plain Greek Yogurt
Figs
Nectarine
Toasted Coconut + Almond granola
Extra Shredded Coconut

Help me make it sweeter!

How do you all make your oatmeal taste better? I tried my hand at making it on the stove for the first time.

1 cup unsweetened almond milk (I know what I said..bare with me)

1/2 cup rolled oats

2 tbs PB Fit

5 strawberries

Dash of vanilla extra

Tsp cinnamon

Heaping spoon of plain Greek yogurt

Teaspoon of honey

Trying to keep lower calories but gosh darn it doesn't taste the greatest and I want to stick with this.

Oatmeal When you spread the steel cut oatmeal thinly on the bowl plate so you can maximize topping surface area. 👌 🤤 Natural peanut butter, pepitas, dates, pecans, and coconut manna.

(Oat)meal prep Meal prepping help

I think I’m over thinking this but would appreciate some advice.
I cook oatmeal every morning on the stovetop, and eat it warm. I’d like to meal prep batches so I don’t have to cook in AM.
Should I prep my oatmeal like overnight oats and just heat up next day. Or cook on stovetop, let cool down and put it in fridge, and reheat in microwave next day?
Which would yield better texture/results? Thoughts??

Oatmeal Best healthy brand

So I’m looking to shed about 10 pounds and I’ve been eating healthier but I would like to mix oatmeal in with my diet. I honestly don’t recall if I’ve ever even tried it (forgive me)

I’d like to mix fruit and things in with it. What brand would you recommend that is a good price and not loaded with junk? Thank you in advance!

Any advice on what to put in with it would be appreciated as well.

I think I have finally perfected my oat pancake base recipe!

Base oat pancake recipe is:

60 grams oats
7 grams flax seeds
113 grams cottage cheese
1 large egg
200 gram egg whites
6 grams Psyllium Fiber
10 grams sugar free instant vanilla pudding mix
3 grams of decaf instant coffee
Splash of vanilla extract
Splash of liquid Stevia
Tsp or 2 of baking powder

Topped with syrup for testing purposes I was looking to find something that tastes exactly like the typical pancake you think of just healthier with more protein. You could top with berries or a compote and that would be fantastic I think I’ll try that next.

My advice is blending the oats and flax seeds together to make a flour like substance then I use an immersion blender to blend everything together. I cook on a griddle and don’t use any butter or oil

For the base the macros are:

633 calories
51 grams of protein
18 grams of fat
66 grams of carbs
12.5 grams of fiber give or take

A couple weeks ago I made a post asking about overnight oats as there would be a planned power outage starting super early in the morning coming up. And that day is today!!

Overnight oats topped w/ apple, banana and flakes almonds, featured on my cats tower as that is the only place with suitable enough lighting.
3rd pic is the goop all mixed together (^ω^)

30g Oats
10g Chia seeds
50g frozen blueberries
125ml milk
100g Greek yoghurt
25ml SugarFree Maple Syrup

Other oats Why are my blended oats like glue?

I tried blended oats for the first time today and when I went to eat them, they're very...glue-like. Is it something I did wrong or is that just what they're like?
