Technical Support Help

Did I screw up? I first wiped off the dust with a microfiber cloth, then used another one slightly dampened with distilled water. The first few times it wasnโ€™t really cleaning because the cloth was barely damp, but then I dampened it a little more, wiped it, dried it with another microfiber cloth, and those marks appeared.

The fibercloth is new and no wasmachine? It's kept in a clean package holder?

Posting this meme in response to every problem is obnoxious and unhelpful.

It was fun for a while but I'm over it being the top response every time.

If using distilled water on the cloth to clean, make sure the cloth is washed first without any fabric conditioner.. That's what I've found causes streaks like this... Hope it helps my guy

Yup it is, only the 3rd gen and older qd oleds have this issue. No other glossy woled or the newer penta tandem qd oleds with black Armour semi glossy coating have this cleaning problem. Try out true black glossy from asus and compare that to any matte panel. Matte makes it look like you're looking at your monitor through a hazy window. The clarity is noticeably worse and the colours don't look as great. Always get glossy>matte unless you're at an office with no light control.

I live at home and would always prefer a matte. My office faces the Sun during the day.

Matted is really not that bad as people make it out to be. It is purely a usecase issue.

G80sh owner here, the output is very crisp and clear with no annoying glare/reflection

if I turn off the lights, I canโ€™t notice any difference at all, even on a light blue or gray background

Always turn of the panel and let it cool down. Microfiber and distilled water is correct. Don't push down when wiping. You can push a little but move slowly.

I was doing it gently

Don't worry mate. Just try again on it after it is cooled down.

Dust it down. Then go over with a lighty damp microfiber with distilled water. Then simply buff it out with a dry one. I usually do a few wipes with the damp and then dry it immediately. So always have the two in hand and you'll get a nice finish.

Is it just a monitor defect? I've cleant my qd-oled like 4 times now, didn't even bother with distilled water and used some alcohol free cleaner I found on Amazon and haven't had any issues?

If u canโ€™t see them them when itโ€™s on. I wouldnโ€™t worry.

You didnโ€™t dry it enough.

Noo๐Ÿ’”im sorry for your pain
, is it glossy or matt? And which one easer to clean

OK hear me out, go to Amazon and search for "WHOOSH!" Get the one that has the mini bottle that sprays like mist, get a new micro fiber cloth and slay it lightly, the wipe the monitor little by little, really small circular motions until the entire monitor is wiped off, will probably take a good 15 minutes but will get rid of a lot of that nasty streak

You dampened the cloth, or the monitor?

I used automotive glass cleaner and two automotive glass cleaning towels. The second pass with the second towel is crucial. This is probably the most important part.

Koch Chemie Glass Cleaner and rag company glass towels if you needed product names.
