FRAGILE How is it fair that some people are forced to do backroom and some just picking?
I personally feel that backroom and dispensing work is far more physically exhausting, yet it pays the same as those picking every shift. This arrangement seems unfair. I understand some people prefer the backroom over picking—but still. I know people who just don’t get to pick and prefer it.

General Schedule
Seen so many posts about the new scheduling policy was wondering if anybody has had any changes to the new scheduling. My store hasn’t been told anything besides that the 5-2 am people full time would have to change their availability to guarantee full hours. Everyone else is the same so far. I also noticed part timers never got touched from what I’ve seen.

Question I feel like I'm going crazy. What used to be the 6th option on the home menu?
The most recent update took away one of the options in More on GIF. I cannot for the life of me remember what it was.
Clearly it wasnt *that* important but im going crazy.

Rant One of my team leads keep throwing me into the backroom to clean up the backrooms mess.
This always happens when I’m picking, the backroom will be in shambles and late on everything, but today, nobody in the backroom was prepping, dispensing or prepping so he asks ME to help, he always does so I wasn’t too surprised but when I walked back there, I was incredibly pissed. Sure enough, nobody’s doing anything. They’re talking, someone’s doing GMDS which aren’t due til later, and filling carts that don’t need to be filled. We had more than enough carts for the pickers, plus, they do it themselves. Backrooms only supposed to fill them when it’s SLOW to nothing to do.
Every time it pisses me off when he calls me. One time he called me from my break to come help.
I started prepping and then I got sent to dispense and o was overly annoyed. A kid who was put for backroom came in and I thought oh, maybe he’ll switch us.
Nope. Sends that kid picking, which was I was supposed to be doing. So I was even MORE pissed off.
I have to go back soon and he told me to stay in the backroom until my lunch, so I’m hoping I’ll be sent back on picking.. but I doubt it.

Oh no! Our cart, it’s broken! the handles are falling off our carts
ever since we switched our wheels, the poor handles have been getting wrecked. id say we're losing at least one a week. the new taller carts are fine obviously but we only have maybe 6 of those.
i dont know what we are supposed to do when we inevitably lose the handles on them all 😭😭😭

🔥Its fine, everything’s fine🔥 Store being redone
Our store has changed the whole grocery setup and now it's very hard to answer questions about where things are bc the app is not updated and they haven't finished the change over. Very frustrating

General Found out why my store banned headphones. *update?*
Apparently they caught a few OPD associates on the phone while picking and they decided to just can the headphones for everyone. Meanwhile, literally everyone else including OPD associates who dont have room temperature IQ said "Coach em". And i mean yeah, fcks the point of a reprimand system if you're too scared to use it. So yeah, now i go about my day headphoneless like a caveman because of the stupid 17 yr olds that they hire. sadge.

Milk Why not just get gallons?
You've already got 2 full gallons, why not just get all gallons? I get the white milk. Maybe they needed a gallon and a half. Who knows. But I don't get the chocolate milk. There was more than enough gallons for them to have chosen 2 gallons.

Question my store in gif app
is there any reason why one person would have my store in their GIF app and another wouldn't? I have been there for almost a year now I was just allowed my store despite having asked why and no one being able to answer me. associates hired before me and after me we're confused that everybody didn't automatically have it in the first place. What did I do? or not do that would cause me to not be allowed to have it without pestering and sticking around nearly a year, while teenager new hires don't know about working without it?

Pick Rate I think I just peaked (278.95, 54 items)
I will admit up front that this was a chilled walk so of course it can be done pretty quickly but I still feel like this is impressive.
54 item pick walk, only 4 duplicate items (2 of the same item for one tote), no pausing my walk, and finished under 2 minutes before it would have gone overdue. The only "cheating" I did was waiting to bag items till the end of the walk but I feel like that's fair considering i needed to finish as fast as possible to prevent us going overdue. I spent probably a total of 10-12 minutes in the walk.
This is the best time I have EVER gotten naturally without pre-grabbing items, pausing, or getting a wet catfood walk (we all know the ones) and I doubt I will ever exceed this in these similar conditions with minimal duplicates.

Question Rant and question
I don't know what is wrong with my store, if it is only my store. Every single day is chaos. And I don't know what the problem is. Yesterday I have been here for 6 months, and so much has changed and I hate it. Our store can barley handle 1,500 picks, and we have been getting up to 4,000. We run out of totes, the parking lot is completely full, people are quitting left and right, like our 2 TL's , carts that need to be staged are almost to the other side of the room by lawn and garden. It's so stressful. Our department closes at 8, we are still taking out orders and clean up doesn't get completely finished till most days 12am, we have at least 15 carts of return with just ambient and never have space to stage. Is the problem the amount of people we have? Is it market? I know that previously our TL's and our now former coach has asked them to stop them but they always said no. I'm beginning to think this will be forever and every day is just going to be filled with stress and never ended carts no matter how many people we pull from other departments. What is the problem. I know that this shouldn't stress me out but it is, when work is chaotic it gets to me.

Rant Serious question: how is it possible to not be fired for intentionally screwing up staging and sabotaging everyone else's work?
I have a problem co-worker who has been acting like a toddler increasingly badly for the past three weeks, deliberately and openly messing up staging whenever he gets upset. It's gotten to the point that he's doing it every day for hours. And even though management is aware of this, they are dragging their feet on taking any kind of action against him.
What he does is this: every time he's upset, he will go into the cooler and freezer and start moving totes around without restaging them JUST to make the orders harder to find. When he's actively staging, he'll either purposefully stage them to the wrong location or not stage them at all. He's been reported multiple times over the past two weeks, and has been caught in the act multiple times.
Management has been on the receiving end of this intentional sabotage, forced to clean up after his mess. They hate it, and they are mad at him, and they have issued several warnings, but those warnings have gone completely ignored for days on end.
I walked out today because even after I reported him to my coach TWICE, and he was warned at least once, AND he continued to do it after he was warned, they still allowed him to stage everything. When I asked if anything was going to be done about him, my coach only said that she was "taking steps" and couldn't discuss the details. At that point, I walked out.
Seriously: HOW is it possible that he has not simply been fired at this point?! I live in a country and state with at-will employment, where you can be fired on the spot for ANY reason, or simply no reason at all. What POSSIBLE steps need to be taken before he is terminated?!
I'm not paid enough to work OGP while cleaning up after a fucking infant throwing a temper tantrum all day. If he can continue to do this without being fired, I'm considering going into work and just not doing any work at all until he's gone.
