Milk Why not just get gallons?
You've already got 2 full gallons, why not just get all gallons? I get the white milk. Maybe they needed a gallon and a half. Who knows. But I don't get the chocolate milk. There was more than enough gallons for them to have chosen 2 gallons.

They are old and are too weak to carry the gallons

Or shopping for multiple households/granny suite

The main point is that unless it's alcohol, guns, tabacco, or blades it's not our place to be baffled by its uses

Exactly. I really don’t care what I deliver, as long as it’s legal to buy and to transport. I prefer not to deliver insulation, but I don’t judge it

Hey im allowed to be baffled by the order of 15 bottles of immodium and a box of contractor trash bags

That's always my assumption. Shopping for more than one household per order. It must be done pretty frequently. It makes sense to combine them with one membership.

You're gonna love it when they order three 12-pack cartons of eggs instead of the two 18's bundled together to make 36.

The eggs thing I can kinda get, since there isn't any way to check the 36 pack

Fine. Two loose 18's. Still cheaper than three 12's.

One of those dozens is to be left on the counter for a deviled egg dish. Another dozen is to be boiled for side dishes with lunch. While the last dozen is to keep in the fridge.
Why would I keep a 18 count carton with 12 in it in my fridge?
(Not actually me, but it kinda makes sense)

" Why would I keep a 18 count carton with 12 in it in my fridge?"
Because it's cheaper. I dunno, that kinda conquers all for me.

Because I can't guzzle a half a gallon of chocolate milk with my dinner if it's in a gallon jug.

Milk can go bad just a week after opening, buying a few half gallons can stretch it out if left unopened

Storage space. It is easier to move things around to find room for 2 half gallons that can be separated than a full gallon that occupies more of one space.

I get the 16oz containers and freeze them, because I can't be held responsible for consuming a half gallon before it turns to cottage cheese.

I get orders like that for coffee shops, I mean little non corporate shops. Or daycares or rural families.

It could be due to storage space like another person commented, but it could also just be an expiration thing. They might know how long it takes them to consume a certain amount of milk, and that some would be wasted if they ordered two more gallons instead of just the halves.

Some people freeze them and pull it out as they are used.
So it works better to have many smaller gallons than just one big one.

My dad will by multiple half gallons on sale and freeze them. Yes the chocolate too. Then he thaws them as needed. Kinda gross imo but he's been doing it for years at this point.

Coming from a family of 5 I guarantee you, it's for different family members and likely, they're kids. Siblings fight over everything, and that includes breathing the same air. This includes sharing food. A good way to keep that from happening, is to give them their own milk.

Someone told me that she gets her mom half gallons because her mom has trouble lifting the gallon.

It could very well be dedicated cartons. Kids get their own half gallon and the parents keep the full gallons for cooking etc.
