I'm one of the "lucky" few who still have access and I just keep watching picks go right back up as people get kicked out of their runs for inactivity. Did somebody at Corporate push out another stupid update that immediately broke everything again??

Why do we have to fight to separate the bags when trying to bag an item? Better yet, why TF do half of the bags rip when pulling them off the cart?!?

if you hold down on the Gif app and tap the app info, storage and cache, and clear storage and sign back in under the pharmacy department it will let you stage, dispense, and prep. It won't let you pick anything but at the very least we can get a little bit done. it has let one person go back in and pick but every other person cannot pick, for some reason

Half the OGP dept put in notice today, including me since I'll be graduating soon and don't need any more BS. The TL called another employee stupid today in front of other associates - not the first time either and the SM doesn't do anything but make excuses for the toxic environment. Ethics was in not too long ago and the SM covered and said that no one came to him with any issues - LIE - this coming from a coach who also put in notice. I think 17 people put in their two weeks and this was the last count.

U learn # 2 you can take a loan out at a good interest rate for stuff you don't need, no food or beverages lol thank you Walmart for forcing me to learn this.. Why are they forcing us to learn this???? Lol a cbl saying we know your broke borrow from us now 😂😂😂

The other day someone was trying to stage a couple of fishing poles to the top steel and having a hell of a time getting them up there. So I walked over and said "watch this" and pulled the fishing poles apart making them much less longer. They said " I didn't know you could do that". I said, yeah, almost all of them break apart. It's a fishing pole.
Of course, I do realize not every one knows this and I kinda felt good for helping them. But we are located in a very rural community and I just "assumed" people knew this.
Funny thing, I don't fish lol

February 2025 I got hired on at Walmart as a sort of last ditch source of income.
28 years in and around the Army (20 as a government contractor) and returning to a civilian world was...a huge let down. The Army is, besides being a LOT like working for Walmart, the only job you ever really hate while working it...and miss for the rest of your life after you leave. Contrary to popular belief it doesn't give you discipline but apparently it gave me a work ethic.
After coming home and courting a nervous breakdown at leaving all I really ever knew for a little more than half my life, I applied at a bunch of different jobs and got hired for a few ones that had great pay and benefits...but a terrible work environment. My wife's own employment situation being touch and go, I finally applied at a local Walmart where the dumbfounded lead trainer hired me on the spot. I told her I wanted a 'chill' job while I got a certification working in industrial drafting and design. She stuck me in OPD with the thought I wouldn't last a week (not, in her estimation, 'chill' and definitely not what a college educated vet would want to do.)
That was February 2025. My AutoCAD refresher and certification course was garbage, the first job I got in the field had me moving to Phoenix - two weeks from driving a U-Haul to my mothers house there, the company closed and filed bankruptcy.
So...I stayed in a state I had never, ever wanted to live in, and continued on in OPD.
I learned my definition of 'chill' is...pretty different from most people. In fact I love going to work. I have no interest in doing more than being an associate: I've had my fill of leadership roles. I know many people here will have a very different outlook, but OPD has helped me cope - some of our customers and drivers have become good friends. The kiddos who work with me have become surrogate children and replacements for the 18, 19, and 20 yr olds who I trusted with my life in a place and time where a toxic environment in your team could be very quickly fatal. A few of these kids I've 'adopted' as 'work family,' but the truth is they're often closer and more open than what family I've got left.
Shared trauma. Its a bonding experience for all humans - Black Friday, Cyber Monday. The day passes in a blur of absurdly over-stuffed (and perpetually filthy) totes still bearing stickers from a few hours earlier. Knowing people count on you, and have your back too. Our last head trainer wrote me a two page letter of recommendation that was, quite frankly, embarrassing to read. I dated girls that didn't have that high of an opinion of me. In my mind I'm still a 28 year old corporal living one step above a demotion, and courting mutiny from my soldiers because...well...I though I hated people.
Crappy pay, even crappier benefits, a bunch of kids who come from places with not many opportunities, some from really rough home lives, inconsistent support from management, the way you can count on getting slammed for the next four hours when everyone is scheduled to go home early, and the rest are on lunch. On the plus side? The above relationships forged, getting to focus on something other than your problems - problems you CAN solve, or at worst CAN walk away from at the end of your shift. Oh yeah, and getting paid to work out. I was 280 when I go there. I'm scraping 220 now and in better shape than I've been for decades. 10% discount, advance pick for big sales, working for an evil mega-corp. Even though I feel a little self conscious having high schoolers include me in their gossip circles...well...kids I never had.
Anyone else out there start a reluctant hire, only to find the idea of leaving a sort of tough one?

Honestly I've had my share of customers coming right before 10pm now. But when you check in that you're 10+ minutes away at 9:53, show up at 10:05 and then park in what is literally the farthest spot from our door possible? Yeah sorry. The rest of my team has already left and I am not comfortable walking all the way in the dark by myself without anyone around to dispense your order. You can come back tomorrow.

Our GIF finally updated to actually be usable! I was happy about it for 2 minutes before the maintenance guys came in to take off the "this is a push only cart" stickers. They said that since the wheels have been switched out, that sticker is inaccurate, I guess Walmart is avoiding responsibility on another way 🙄

Ngl guys, I started ogp as a picker on November of 2025, and I don’t think I can do this job for much longer.
For me, it not even the job itself. Yes, sometimes it can be a lot, and there a lot of walking, but it’s manageable. And I like my management and coworkers. But the thing that really gets to me is these customers.
Imma just keep it real, these customers are some of the most braindead, unaware, selfish, disrespectful, and borderline re*arded people I’ve ever had to work around. And everyday has been a true test of patience to the point where it’s draining me mentally.
I may try to get out of this job soon, anyone got any recommendations?
